One good point in the discussion is to read that people have different interests.

Whereas someone prefers the zombie or the forestman, I'm not a bit interested in these.

I think it's a good way to open up our own Eurobricks CM (not Copmike!) trading post whenever the first Collectable Minifigs hit the shelves.

Then you cand send me all the nurses you'll find.

What is a sickbay without nurses?

For another point:

Some minifigs should be easily to find out even in a sealed bag, just by feeling it:

- the skater (skateboard)

- the stone age man (club)

- the cheerleader (two pom-poms)

the more difficult ones:

- the nurse (2x2 tile - patients chart)

- the diver (air tank)

- the robot, cowboy, magician (different hats)

- maybe the wrestler (the cape is normally sold in a small paper box)

So all we need is tact.

Wow - that counts for some threads in here as well...

Haha nothing says Im an AFOL better than feeling small plastic bags in a toyshop!

What I don't like about the email is why would LEGO put their logo on something that is not meant to follow LEGO's quality standards and is not made by LEGO at all. I mean, corporate image is supposed to be important...

Something other companies do is have two logos for two differently focused qualities of products, perhaps LEGO should begin doing that for these 'extended line' things?

And there are quality issues in sets outside the extended line. But they do not tend to be as bad as the magnet sets. Discoloration is annoying but it is not as horrible as the bad plastic. Something that bugged me though were the toy story minifigs' plastic.

LEGO puts their logo on products not made by them because the alternative is having nothing but main-line sets. The pens, for example, are things that LEGO doesn't necessarily have the facilities to produce, hence why Stylus, a company that also makes pens for Etch-A-Sketch, Boggle, and other toy/game franchises, produces the pens themselves and we get that horribly awkward plastic.

And I've never heard of other companies having separate logos for products they don't themselves produce. Could you give an example?

Meanwhile, my Rock Monsters and Space Police aliens have held up fine, and I've played somewhat rough with at least the Rock Monsters, so no idea why other people have problems with that. I'm very confident that the minifig quality will be good as well.

Once more I'm feeling this thread is going in the wrong direction. If someone wants to discuss LEGO's quality issues, then this thread is not the place. It can be mentioned, but not continuously discussed over and over. I'm not saying LEGO quality problems can't be discussed on Eurobricks, but that should not be the focus in this thread.

So stay on topic, focus on the figs, or start your own topic if you want to have a discussion on quality, marketing strategies, ...

(Please do first use the search function before starting a new thread --> threads like that most probably already exist)

Yes this will be a very popular way to get what you want.

I would trade you a nurse but hey I like her too :wub:

I thought they come in a box like the Impulse? :look:

EDIT: Where is the post where it says if you buy a case of these figs you are guaranteed 1 of each?

Well, it was one of all those blogs that talked about the figs series that mentioned there is at least one of each fig in a box.

Huw from brickset.com was the first (or one of the first?) to mention that they come in bags and that the bags are too solid to allow you to use your tact to feel the figs.

I'm curious; if these are due to be released in June, how are people getting their hands on them so early? There's a gallery over on brickshelf featuring the new Robin Hood figure. The poster also has an unmoderated gallery dedicated to series one. I'm looking forward to these, but these early images are making the wait pretty tough. I'd love to know how folks get their hands on these things so early. I can't think of any other LEGO releases that were leaked this far ahead of the actual release date.

I'm not too pleased with some of the changes to existing pieces like the shovel or the forestman's cap. The stamped arms are also a bit disappointing. That being said, the figures themselves are quite nice so I hope they live up to everyone's expectations. It's going to be a difficult wait.

Arm stamps... and lack of neck black squareness.

China... prepare for war. :knight:

It's only 1:20am here, I still have some time to continuously check for the folder's moderation...

Someone remind me-- where have we seen figs like this before? Like, with the stamps and stuff I mean... I'm not sure if I have any yet...

I also agree that it's interesting how people are getting these so early. There's over four months left before their scheduled release! :look:

And new bow!

*snip*

Ooh, that one looks like it can actually attach onto a clip piece without being compressed by the clip (one example is the bow and arrow in 8038 The Battle of Endor)! :sweet:

According to the coverage of a Toyfair in England on Brickset.com, samples were handed out a lucky few. So that's one way they came into circulation.

The figs you buy in magnet sets also have these.

*GGRR* China!

Ahem, This is about the figures, only the figures and not anything else. Speculation on new figures and discussion of the current confirmed figures, this does not cover plastic quality or marketing.

Thank you.

I am so full of envy for those who have the figures already! Are there any IRL, detailed pics of the other series 1 figures? I want to see the new hair the nurse and the emo kid have

They were in the Pirate tic-tac-toe sets and some of the Castle and Pirates battle packs. There is a whole thread about the inferior plastic. See also the banner below this post. It's a situation many AFOLs are worried about. Children probably do not care too much. For them Lego is just a playing toy while AFOLs tend to be more picky about quality issues and obvious differences in the ABS plastic.

Could have been me...in Nuremberg I heard a lego rep saying a few times that there is at least one of each figure in a case/display box.

I also saw an opened box with half the figs missing, so I'm rather sure that samples were given out. Also, one lego rep said that employees had received samples and were trading them.

I don't think it is a good idea to just not speculate about the quality of this minifig promo. I vote for the thread to get split so that we could have the ambassador's statement and also the posts about the mark of the beast and stuff like that and etc, etc, etc.

The series01 folder is earlier than the Robid Hood one so probably it just had the usual cgi pic of all the figures and other stuff we've already seen.

Looks like they will be $1.99:

A new collectible concept delivers 32 never-before-seen LEGO Minifigures in blind packaging so LEGO fans can build their populations ($1.99 each).

Robin Hood: disappointed the bow is not dark brown. Was really excited about that.

The new bow looks pretty neat, since they've changed the mould on it, does that mean there's going to be more sets using the bows now? Ok, I just really want some bows. Either way, the Robin Hood looks pretty nice.

Unless there's a new theme of western space cavemen wrestlers on the way, I think this must be Universe related.

These are actually business card images. I got one from a representative and they look exactly like this.

I am afraid part of the marketing related to these figs says that none of the new molds will be ever used again ...

This applies to parts they already produced as well?

Can't be right. I have seen the snowboarder hat from series two on one of the World Racers figures...

Do notice that for example, the shovel was changed for no reason. Just about every fig we got close pics of turns out to have a new mold even for pieces that already existed. They are trying to make the figs 'exclusives' .

That is better than I was expecting. I thought they would be at least $3. I doubt I will buy them directly but it should impact the Bricklink prices too.

The shovel change may carry over to mainstream sets this year. Small changes in parts like that have happened many times before, and it's often not obvious what the purpose of the change was.

Well, I am just commenting on what people that were at the fairs say:

Like this from brickset:

Last but certainly not least, the collectable minifigs were on display: both series one and two. They are just so awesome and series two has just as many very cool figs as series one. Nearly every one features something unique be it a printed torso or an accessory which hasn't been available before and (I'm told) won't be used elsewhere

I'd love to see the new molds used elsewhere.

One of the best posts in this topic

That is great news! I will have to buy alot now, $15-20 worth at least.

But over here they will be marked up just like the impulse :hmpf_bad:

$3.50 online, $5.00 in store here :sadnew:
