prateek Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 One of the best posts in this topic $2 is cheaper then I had previous speculated of around $5 You actually thought they were going to be $5?!? No non-collector in their right mind would buy these for $5 each. Quote
jonwil Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 My bet is that the new shovel will be used elsewhere (the exclusive part in that fig would be the torso I bet) and likely the new longbow will also (again the exclusive part in the archer set would be the torso I expect). Any other parts that are just new moulds of existing parts are likely to appear elsewhere next time they use that part. Its the parts like the clown hair, pom-poms, caveman club, clown horn, robot head, skis, ray gun and microphone (the parts that are only found in this series) that are likely to be exclusive, along with all the new printed parts (torsos, heads, legs). Quote
B-Lister Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 at $2 apiece, 30 bucks should net me near a complete set, or at least enough to trade for the ones I want. Quote
posades Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Looks like they will be $1.99:Source (Ages 5+) Robin Hood: disappointed the bow is not dark brown. Was really excited about that. Dark brown bow would have been nice, though it is refreshing to see a new mold for it. Is the only change the raised part near the feathers of the arrow? Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 My bet is that the new shovel will be used elsewhere (the exclusive part in that fig would be the torso I bet) and likely the new longbow will also (again the exclusive part in the archer set would be the torso I expect). Any other parts that are just new moulds of existing parts are likely to appear elsewhere next time they use that part. I wouldn't count on it. The parts in these packs come from an outsourced company in China. They don't come from the same place that parts in normal sets come from, so I think it's unlikely that these "copy" moulds will appear in the regular sets. As yet, normal parts from the Chinese company have not gone into normal sets, except for certain things like the Jester hat, cow, Taun-Taun, etc. I'd always heard they were $2. That's not such a bad price, but I hope TRU won't decide it can mark that up too. That means a whole case is only $120. So what'll it be, the Clone Turbo Tank, or 60 minifigures? Hmmm, the hard decisions in life… Quote
Rick Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 $2? If that translates to €2 that would be nice. But all I've heard about EU prices so far is €2.50 (at least nothing lower) For kids and parents this doesn't compare well to a €3.00 impulse set, which includes some bricks in addition to a fig with accessories. Quote
Tyrant Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Wow. $2? I figured $3 and I was more or less ready to go all out at that price. As for the bow, my assumption (purely assumption, to be clear) is that it is primarily the torsos that will be unique. Or I suppose it could be the accessories that are unique and the accessories get used elsewhere. Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 I think the press release had a bit of a typo. I do not see these being released for $2, more so when the price of an Impulse set has increased to $4. Quote
Omicron Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Well, I am just commenting on what people that were at the fairs say:Like this from brickset: I'd love to see the new molds used elsewhere. The skateboarder's hairpiece is Ron's new hair in the new HP sets. I think the reason why Lego (or the people at the fairs) are saying that these molds are exclusive is so that people will buy the figs. -Omi Quote
Rick Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 The skateboarder's hairpiece is Ron's new hair in the new HP sets. I noted the similarity too, although I wasn't entirely sure. I sure hope the new hair molds and the accessories will find their way into the regular lines. I'm guessing the torso designs will be exclusive to the Collectible Minifigs line. Quote
Tanotrooper Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 *First time I saw the Greek hoplite* THIS. IS. LEGO! After years of begging, we finally got a greek Hoplite If the price would translate itself to € 2, I'll buy a whole box of series two to get a small troop together. Great work LEGO. Great work. The Alchemyst Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 - Pops in - Good friend Cholie got a Press Release Package. Here is the entire Series 2 for your enjoyment: Super Preliminary, by the way Or am I being late? Quote
Etzel Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 No, you're the first to post that info, thanks! Some of the figs are clearly preliminary in that picture (the mexican and ringleader for example) but I really like the look of almost all of them. The surfer is really good Quote
Oky Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Thanks for the pic! Good to finally see (prelim versions of) the rest of the Series 2 figs. Hopefully we'll get final ones from Toy Fair soon. I'm impressed to see that the mime's accessories are extra heads with different expressions. That'll be quite useful. Also, his hat, along with the crash test dummy, will make it very easy to create Mythbuster MOCs! It's also great to finally get a yellow bare chest. Hopefully the cop's helmet will be a real cop helmet in the final version, like the one the T1000 had in Terminator 2! Quote
Omicron Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Hopefully we'll get final ones from Toy Fair soon. I been told by my friend who was there that they were not there. -Omi Quote
blueandwhite Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 I been told by my friend who was there that they were not there.-Omi That's too bad, but given the photos we've seen from FBTB and others that seems like it's probably the case. Still, it's the first time we've had clear shots of many sets including Harry Potter, some of the Star Wars sets and the Kingdoms line. It's been a very nice Toy Fair thus far. Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Thanks for the pic Alchemyst, I'm loving the mime and the Egyptian. The face on that Dr. Livingstone-type fig looks great too, I'm a sucker for monocles. And the afro minifig's name is "disco stu"? Thanks again. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Super Preliminary, by the way Thanks for this link. Two things I find amusing about the descriptions in this link: 1. It says, "among the minfiigures are…", and proceeds to list fifteen of them, leaving out the hoplite. Did LEGO not know whether to call him Greek or Roman? 2. It names the disco guy as a Simpsons character, disco stu. Unless disco stu is just a random disco name similar to John Doe for a man, but the Simpsons character is also named Disco Stu and looks fairly similar to this figure. Girl in swimsuit=super hot! Kidding, of course, but it's great to see more city females. Quote
angel1802 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Why did they change it ?? the Mexican... Passing from that : To that... I hope the second one isn't the final one !!!! it would be bad Everything looks different but not for the best Same for the bodybuilder, the dumbell was better than the large one ! Bref they're going in the wrong way. I hope than the press guide has been done before. So the real one we've seen are the final one ! Quote

Piranha Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Here is the entire Series 2 for your enjoyment: Well we knew about series 2 from some brief glimpses, but this is great, thanks! I see the surfer mentioned earlier, nice! Very nice, but the skier is missing? Quote
Derek Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Thanks for the pic. It seems like each of these series has a dud, and I'm assuming they are going to be the common ones... For series 1, its the diver. For series 2, its the "Traffic Cop" and the explorer... I am nonetheless going to try to get all of them. I can't tell, does the pop star have a new hair piece? It looks it, but it also seems similar to the princess one we have now... Quote
Omicron Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 (edited) Very nice, but the skier is missing? Look between disco stu and the mime. :P -Omi Edited February 15, 2010 by Omicron Quote
