I don't know whether these have been already posted here, but here is a link to very detailed pictures of every minifig of series 2.

Til now we haven't got any confirmation that there'll be a third series, darthperson.

It's very supposably that there'll be a third series since TLG asked for our ideas - but since they firstly asked about some weeks ago, the question is whether they'll be aible to judge for some of these ideas and produce them during 3/4 year.

If there were new minifig series in 2011, the first (or only one) would surely be released at a date similar to this year's first seriies - namely May.

But whether there'll be a new series, we'll surely firstly know this fall - and pictures surely will firstly appear at the beginning of 2011.

Forgive an ignorant newbie  When TLG asked for our ideas....I was obviously not paying attention :pir-cry_sad: Is this info somewhere in the forums or somewhere else....I'm curious to know what everyone was keen on/think is coming.

I take this pretty much as a confirmation of a series 3 and maybe even more...

Thank you very much for the link to that information, Mirandir and Edmond Dantes! :classic:

new minifig series (very supposably next year)

no barcodes to find out which minifig is included

But hasn't there to be any marking on the bag that the weight can identify which set lays on it (I thought that every set is weight so that they can control whether all elements are included without having to open it)? So there perhaps won't be barcodes but something other which will give us a hint to find out which minifig will be included? - I really hope so. Since having either to pay a very high price for the minfigs on Ebay or to buy a huge amount of minifigs to finally get those I want will for me surely not be possible.

...Or feel the bag to determine the shape of the parts. Honestly, people, LEGO obviously didn't intend for the barcodes to be used this way, so if they add a new way of telling which fig is in the bag it certainly won't be for the benefit of the fans, and they'll probably try to keep it under wraps.

Now that I've seen the close-ups, I'm a bit more excited for series 2 than I was before. The vampire and ringmaster torsos seem potentially useful for Western MOCs, and the entirety of the Mariachi certainly is. The motorcycle cop and surfer's heads are great, the mime's beret is definitely long-awaited, and of course everyone wants a million Spartans.

I think it's safe to say the least popular from series 1 were the diver and the dummy, but I don't think there's going to be as much of a problem with unwanted figs in this series. Even the ones I'd guess will be less desirable have interesting print and molds, with the one exception of the explorer/adventurer. Nothing new there parts-wise and everything about him is rather uninteresting, unless you need some cargo shorts for your "bro" minifigs.

Overall, I'd say this wave is a lot more uniform than series 1. Fewer totally outstanding figs than 1, but also fewer useless/unwanted figs.

Ehh. :sceptic: I don't know. The traffic cop and the explorer seem kinda boring to me.

It's not necessarily a bad figure, but considering we get soo many police officers over the years in the City line, the traffic cop is one of the most underisirable of the entire line. I'll get one for completion, but I think its rather boring and terribly unrevolutionary compared to figures like the Spartan, Mexican and Pop Star.

However, I would like to see a new City police wave with cops based on this one. Compared to other Collectible Figs, its boring- but in the City line it would be new and fresh.

I'm not sure even Series 1 really had a bunch of unwanted or useless figs. I personally love the crash test dummy, and would love to get at least one or two more to add to the three I've got (after all, if one's doing crash testing one wants to test vehicles for varying numbers of passengers, right?). Even the diver, while not the most exciting figure ever (simply because there've been so many divers in various themes already), is still a perfectly fine figure, and it's also one for which someone who does particularly want it is more likely to want / need several of it (for a whole dive team), like all the other "uniformed" or "non-unique" characters.

As far as Series 2 goes, the explorer / adventurer is actually one of the ones I want most.

I think that my real issue with the traffic cop is that he could have been an interesting figure if they had actually gone out of the way to give him a wide brimmed hat (mountie style) instead of the aviator's cap. with the Spartan we have three new accessories (shield, spear and helmet) when the old-style LEGO spear would have been just fine yet we can't even get one new accessory with the cop; a type of figure that already overpopulates the LEGO universe. I hope that in any future series LEGO puts a bit more effort into all of the figures.

Really? David Legostone is one of the ones I want most. And with the Surfer minifig, I think a lot of people'll want cargo shorts for their bros. Personally the state trooper and ringleader look most uninteresting to me.

Has anyone checked out the poll on the official Lego website for the collectible minifigs? I think you might be surprised as to which figures are more popular with the general population as opposed to the people around here...

I have no idea as to why kids are so obsessed with ninja-type things. :hmpf:

It's called a "trend" "fad" etc, 5 years ago it would've been a pirate because pirates were cool then mostly due to those Disney movies.

The question is pretty much asking: "if you could have ONE, which would it be" not "if you could have any number of each, which would you have more of" Maybe 18% prefer a robot, but would have 50x as many cheerleaders despite her not being their favourite.

The result isn't that surprising when you consider that the Ninja theme is over a decade old. Most kids today never had the chance to grab one of those figures and so far as I can tell ninjas have always been popular with kids. I don't think the ninja thing is a trend. I don't know why but kids always think ninjas are cool. Even in the 80s with G.I. Joe we had Stormshadow and Snake Eyes. Every Halloween you're bound to have a few kids dressed up as ninjas show up at your door (in North America anyways). The whole anime thing probably only adds more fuel to that fire. Figures like a forestman or stereotypical native figure seem very dated by comparison.

Of course these survey results don't really matter anyways as a disproportionate number of those collectable figures probably ended up with AFOLs and scalpers. This is one line that LEGO might have been better off not advertising or promoting.

I wouldn't consider ninjas a fad, as ninjas have been continually popular for quite some time, at least here in the US.

As for Series 2, the figs look great, but I think overall Series 1 is better. Unlike others, I really only want a few Spartans, and the rest of the figs aren't really army builders like the Robot and Zombie from series 1.

I just heard that Lego may be discontinuing the line... is this true? I want to get my hands on a few before they are gone :cry_sad:

They will soon be discontinuing series 1.

I need to finish my collection quickly!

Really?

If so I can't wait!

Where did you get this information?

The official release date is August if i recall. There were people finding series 1 a couple of weeks before June. My guess is that people will start to find series 2 in a couple of weeks.
