Blondie-Wan Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Thanks for the link! So, according to this we still have 3 full sets with some extras: 5 of: police cop, ringleader, karate fighter 4 of: mime, witch, Mexican, lifeguard, vampire, weightlifter 3 of: skier, soldier, pharaoh, explorer, singer, disco, surfer I'm surprised that the karate fighter is among the least scarce figs, not so much the police cop. Explorer in the '3 of' list is also surprising to me. To me, none of these numbers (save perhaps for the circus ringmaster) sounds particularly surprising if one assumes TLG actually was trying to anticipate the relative levels of demand for these among their core customers (children), rather than AFOLs. So... only three per box of the Greco-Roman soldier? Man, that's going to be one intensely-sought-after minifig. ________________________________ The two smaller, independent toy stores in my area that I've previously mentioned as having the Series 1 minifigures have now sold out; I was hoping to maybe pick up a few more of some of them, but I do have at least two of each and up to four of some of them, so I'm pretty satisfied, even if it would've been great to get more. I should probably just start planning and saving for Series 2. The owner of one of those two smaller stores said she should be getting more of Series 2 than of Series 1, which may reflect the statements we've seen indicating TLG is going to tweak the distribution of these in the future so that they aren't so hard to come by in the US as the first series has been. It took me a bit off-guard - when I first saw them in my local TRU back in late May, they were just hanging on the pegs not attracting much attention, and I was easily able to pick up one complete set right off the bat without much trouble, and they were still abundant for a few days after that. I therefore thought for about a week that they were turning out to be much easier to get than I'd originally feared they would be back when we first found out about them. After that, it seems, local LEGO fans finally caught on, and they stayed in stock for much shorter periods, and it turned out my earlier fears were correct, though thankfully I was indeed able to get a good number of them after all. alex54 Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Sad news for the French! It seems that the serie 2 (and HP line) will not be sold in France!... My new official toy shop (where I buy all mynew lego sets) told me the sad news today... Why, oh why? But I have a big hope to put my hand on one of the entire box... Quote

That doesn't make a lot of sense. Why France? A huge country in the centre of Europe? The figs have already been filtering though to other European countries. Quote
escortmad79 Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Seems a strange one, maybe they didn't sell as well in France as in other countries Quote
vexorian Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Can we really trust a toy store that much though? Quote
Dunjohn Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Maybe LEGO decided that the Americans were so mad about missing Series 1 that they'd accept nothing less than all of France's supply of Series 2.... Quote
Artanis I Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Why France? A huge country in the centre of Europe? Time to get out the atlas, mate! From what we've heard, series 1 is still very common in Germany. Just try a trip over the border to find series 2? Quote

It's said to be available either after the middle of this month or in September. Klaus-Dieter Quote
alex54 Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Can we really trust a toy store that much though? I think it depends on the toy store. And I trust my toy store. Why does it tell me that if it's not true? I mean, as a store, it has to plan its stocks for now and months to come, so it knows sets that it will have on shelves or not. But this minifigs serie 2 and HP sets will be avalable in Belgium and my soy store has some contacts in this foreign country, so it tells me that it will be able to sell some of those sets. I just have to be patient and keep an eye on it... Quote
squiz Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 looks like series 2 figs are sneaking into the UK :) http://www.brickset.com/news/article/?ID=820 Quote
GRogall Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 (edited) OK, Have some information on series 1 (8683) All production of series one was finished at the end of March, and there will not be another production run! All european Lego brand stores as well as S@H have sold out and will not be restocked! Some distributers might have some stock left but it's very little. All American stock has been delivered to its distributers and will not get resupplied! Some stores may get stock from there distributer, so check your stores. All production of series 2 (8684) was finish end of May. Distribution of series two will begin in the 29th calendar week and hit european stores on or about 32nd calendar week (mid August) no word when series 2 will reach the US!? Hope this helps! Sorry to bring it up again but I know that Dealers in Germany will have them next week! 32nd calendar week! Good luck hunting! Edited August 5, 2010 by grogall Quote
Zanki Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I'm going to have to keep checking out The Entertainer here for season two figures. Season one are basically sold out now, only a few figures remain. I wonder if Argos will be getting season 2. They don't have season one listed in their catolog, but they still have tons in my local store. I just go in, give them the code and they bring the boxes out for me to search in, its awesome because I think I'm the only one buying them so I can get whatever I want. Plus they are very cheap in there. Quote
yumiyoshi Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 At the TRU in California, they had one single box of series 1 that had all the cheerleaders picked out by some nerds with a page of barcodes! I saw just the barcode page for the series2 here on EB...is there even trick for series1?I've been searching but nothing came out. Anyway, had to fly London to snatch some minifig of s.1. (Harrods lets you "touch&feel" them) In Italy I haven't saw them yet. If there's Cobra around I hope he'll tell me where to find them. Quote
Alldarker Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 I was lucky enough to find the series 2 Collectable Minifigs in a brick & mortar Bart Smit toy store in the Netherlands. The two boxes they had were barely touched, and I had enough time to check all the barcodes and collect the 16 different baggies (although I've only opened one as of yet: the Greek hoplite soldier)... I've also read that other Bart Smit stores have the series 2 collection out. Just a warning: just like with series 1 (where I bought a complete box and checked all the positions of the figures), I once again had the idea that the bags have been arranged in the boxes in such a way, that a single row often contains several of the same figures packed directly behind each other. Blondie-Wan Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 If memory serves, the Minifigures Series 1 product pages were added to LEGO's website several weeks before the minifigures were released, but they're still not showing Series 2, at least not on the US site. I wonder when that'll be updated... Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 Sorry to bring it up again but I know that Dealers in Germany will have them next week! 32nd calendar week! Good luck hunting! Thank you very much for this information, grogall! The only thing I don't understand why there are that many minifigures of these which are surely not that demanded (like the dompteur) and only that few of those which are surely highly demanded (like the surfer) since the minifigs and the parts surely will be all about the same price to produce. He said not until the first week of September. That seems like a long ways off!! It does indeed, but OTOH I stopped in at the LEGO Store at Downtown Disney in Orlando on Sunday, May 23rd and asked about the first series, and was told they'd be out June 21st. I then saw them at the Toys 'R' Us here in Tallahassee either the very next day (May 24th) or the day after that. I don't remember exactly when I first saw the Minifigures pages on LEGO's site, but I'm pretty sure it was several weeks before late May, possibly as early as March. Certainly the Minifigures area was up well before the figures were in stores anywhere in the world, I'm pretty sure. Now the second series is apparently out in at least a tiny number of stores in Europe, but there's still nothing about it on LEGO's site. Quote

No harm intended, but I think you'll need more than luck. If they're just getting them in the UK next week, it'll be at least one but likely two more weeks til we get 'em stateside. I plan to start seriously looking after the weekend of the 14th, but will probably be surprised to find them that early. Quote

Zanki Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 No series two minifigs in Hamley's, London. There are boxes full of season one everywhere, priced at £3 each. The prices for lego and most other toys are insane. They have really gone up in price in the last year or so. Quote
