I can't believe I missed these amazing modular creations Jasper Joppe Geers! I have been looking over all the details, and yes it is a large collection of bricks for sure. The beauty is definitely in the details, of which you have captured beautifully I might add. I can't believe you have tiled the interiors of the rooms as well.

That's easy. The roads and cycle paths are made of Dark tan tiles seperated by 1 x 8 plates,

and 1 x 8 tiles on top of them. The pavements are baseplates of 8 studs wide, tiled with

Light bley tiles 2x2, with spare spaces for the trees, waste bins etc.

If I may ask, however, what is the best way to go about building one of these? By that I mean how do I go about ordering what bricks (what sizes, and the amount of each). I'm looking to put together 2-3 of my own and need a of a guide on how to get started if you know what I mean. Any help is much appreciated!

The one question that I have that didn't get answered in either is how you go about buying pieces (bricks). I'm assuming that most of your collection has been accumulated over the years (buying a lot of different sets and eventually multiple specific sets once you realize what you need/want).

I've been wanting to use the Pick-a-Brick store on the LEGO Official Store website located here: http://shop.lego.com/pab/?warning=false

From my experience building some of the pre-made Creator Houses, a majority of the bricks are the 1x4,6,8,10, etc. variety - purchasing these bricks by bulk in different colors, is that a safe bet?

I'm just a little worried about how I'm going to go about accumulating the little "odds-and-ends" pieces that you see throughout.

That is easy. Basically you collect your bricks as you buy your sets

over the years. With those you can start playing and find out how

some bricks can be used, not just the plain 1 x 2, 1 x 4 etc. bricks.

Some people buy a number of the same set, just to collect bricks.

PAB is a good start if you need a specific brick in a certain amount.

Creativity is all. it's not up to someone else (like me) to tell you how

to start, that's up to you. I can only give you an idea.

And if you're happy with your creation, that is ( i think)

the best achievement you can make! :)

I'm not worried about the creativity aspect; I know that once I get all organized have the appropriate bricks and such, I'll be able to just flow.

Do you have any recommendations as to which sets to pick up for just the bricks (bang for the buck, sort of deal) or what I should be looking to buy via PAB?

As for me, when a new modular building comes out, i'll make sure my

wallet allows me a couple of those. It's a wrench, but well worth it!

Same goes for other sets that have anything to do with town. No matter

if it is an exclusive or a creator set, it all comes down to the bricks in the

set. You can find out about it easy.

I knew even before it was released i had to have a few of that Fire Brigade,

just to make sure i had a number of those dark red 1 x 1 tiles...

Now have a go and create! Haha

Wow Jasper. I missed this before. Your street looks fantastic. I am amazed seeing these modular buildings. Just getting the parts together to make the side walks seems like an undertaking.

I'm very impressed by your models. :thumbup: The setup as a whole is magnificent it's great to see a big peaceful layout without all those policemen/firefighters/tanks/zombies and other stuff that are so abundant in many Lego cities.

I finally found my street topic in de dungeons, so here we are.

I've taken some pics of my latest Moc, Elladora's sweetshop, and

gave this Moc it's place in the street. The Green Grocer had to move

one place, but luckily they didn't complain.

One problem starts to occur though. These tables that hold this

street are more or less fully used. This means that if i'm up to

anything more, there has to change something.

If i'm able to change tables with the opposite of the room, i'm able

to add an extra meter (one feet approx.) to the street...

Anyway. I'll post one pic of the street here, and the rest are links,

just not to clog up this forum with loads of pics.
