Piranha Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Oh Cool a new castle theme!! The box art is great, I like the medieval styling Also I am extremely happy they returned to Human vs Human Just like in the old days of Forestmen, Black Falcons and such The sets look nice , and it is a good start for the theme. Etzel Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 (edited) I found some more pictures: Looks like we're getting a princess in this theme too (but with the same old face , I hope they change it) Edit: One more: Edited February 7, 2010 by Etzel Quote
Alex the Great Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Not bad, thanks for the pics. I like the princess' hair colour, but I have so many of those faces! The rest of it looks good, can't wait to get some. Quote
metalandi Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 (edited) Thanks for the new pictures! Since the beginning when is aw the first boy pictures i knerw i'm gonna like this theme, but with these now i absolutely love it! The castle looks OUTSTANDING, i think i like it even more than the king's castle siege set. I love the use of red, and that tower looks really good, i like that much more than that tiny little tower with blue roof in the last castle, which you can't really use for anything. A'lso it seems it has some nice interior here and there. It looks to me like a combination of 6080 King's Castle and 6074 Black Falcon's Fortress, just even better! Btw. can anyone make out what this (in blue) is? Edited February 7, 2010 by metalandi Quote
blueandwhite Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Looking at the new photos, this looks to be one of the best castles LEGO has ever produced. It has the compact cohesiveness of earlier castles from the 80s and 90s, but it also incorporates some of the features that made KCS so popular. The only thing that could make it better would be actual hinges. Still, it's nice to see a solid fortication. This looks far better than anything we've seen in the past ten or more years. Quote

Speaking about the horses, I like the unicorn horn, that's pretty neat. I also like the official great helm for the bad guys. Though I don't get castle a lot, I think I'll have to at least get one of the solider building sets. Quote
Albero - BEL Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Btw. can anyone make out what this (in blue) is? In my opinion it is this piece: Quote
metalandi Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I think you are right, it may be for feeding the horses. Pretty nice they include a detail like that! Quote
Zorro Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I found these on Kris Abel's Tech Life blog, they've been linked to before by KimT, but I wanted to add them anyway. More can be found here. Quote
ProducePrincess Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 It's nice to see that lego is giving us less giant wheeled siege machines and more castles. Personally i think the dragons fort is one of the best sets in these pictures and it looks like a good set for getting re-coloured pieces Quote
legotrainfan Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Does anybody know if this set comes with the castle wall panels of this design (old design) or whether it'll have the wall panels that could be found in the new pirate line? Quote
Zorro Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Does anybody know if this set comes with the castle wall panels of this design (old design) or whether it'll have the wall panels that could be found in the new pirate line? I'm quite certain it are the same wall panels that are in the new Pirates line. Quote
Alex the Great Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 (edited) Does anybody know if this set comes with the castle wall panels of this design (old design) or whether it'll have the wall panels that could be found in the new pirate line? I believe they have switched over completely with the new wall panels, the ones with the stone are probably stickers too. EDIT: Looks like Zorro beat me too it Edited February 7, 2010 by Alex the Great Quote
L-space Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 These sets offer better design then anything I have seen in recent years. Allthough with the red roof it makes it look like playmobil. If you squint you won't see the difference. And I'm still so going to get them. Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 These sets offer better design then anything I have seen in recent years.Allthough with the red roof it makes it look like playmobil. If you squint you won't see the difference. I think the first year of Castle Fantasy was nicely designed, could have been a better in the back towers of the Castle, but still nice. The first year of most sets that aren't called Knights Kingdom are nice. We have to see what the future brings and if LEGO can keep the set design up. I really hate the red, I wish it was dark red, it's too bright right now. It's also a little too blah for me, I really wish LEGO would make a castle that's on a raised baseplate. I can't stand these flat build and snap castles, mainly because they are impossible to move. Quote
metalandi Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Actually you can transport them easy, if you put them or a plate or something. when i put my king's castle siege from one position to another, i always put it on a lego box, it never broke once. And also think about, that when it is on a baseplate there is no chance to add more elements do it. Quote

The one type of set that should be on baseplates are castles and temples and instead LEGO will stick a baseplate on a Police Station and Hospital. Quote
SupaaSayajin Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Wow, that's a fantastic new castle line- Personally I didn't like any of the recent castle lines, as they were all too <insert that tiresome argument>, but these look great!! Quote
metalandi Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 What things exactly were too <insert that tiresome argument> in the fantasy castle line? Quote
Brickus Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 The new Kingdom sets look very interesting, I can't wait for better pictures. Quote
cagri Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 I'm afraid these look rather childish compared to Fantasy Era sets. I think I'll only buy some acessories from Bricklink but won't purchase the sets, doesn't seem to be worth it. My most favorite theme was castle :( Quote
Legorski Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 These pics are furthering my want for this theme! I will get them! Why won't summer come! Why oh Why! D8 Quote
Grimmy Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 More can be found here. Those Castles are so nice and I especially love the new jester. It comes in a nice small box. I bet that little guy will sell a ton and get sold out. He looks alive! He looks so happy and care free, he surely is doing a good job making the king and peasants laugh. He looks as if he's going to come alive. I like the wizard too even though he looks similar to past castle wizards, this gives me a chance to get one Quote
jonwil Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Will be interesting to see if TLG sells the new Wizzard impulse in the US (given that they didnt sell the last one) Quote
