Etzel Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Do you have more pics of the queen? I don't think that the picture I linked to is of the queen either (I believe it's two different minifigures in the AC and the tower), but no, that's the only one I've seen so far. Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Do you have more pics of the queen? My problem with the queens are LEGO can't make a woman look old, so they never look like queens. The guy (king) looks 50-60+ years old but all the females (queens) look 35-40. Quote

The guy (king) looks 50-60+ years old but all the females (queens) look 35-40. Isn't 35-40 about the right age for the queen to be in? I'm more of the opinion that the king looks to old And sure LEGO can make old women : Quote
Tyrant Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 Although it's still a long time until then - but:With these great new minifigs I hope that TLG will release a medieval tournament as January 2011 Exclusive - with tribune, tents, many horses, minifigs and accessory - let's say a bigger re-design of 6060 Knight's Challenge:  (Regrettably I do not own this set. ) Klaus-Dieter Yeah a larger, more detailed remake of that could make for a great set. If it were an exclusive along the same lines as the MMV then I would go with up to 4 different sets of heraldry. They could either be past favorites (Black Falcons, the Lions we are getting this year, the Dragons we are getting this year, and maybe either the crossed axe symbol or pick one of the KK symbols like the Unicorn), or all new ones, or some combination of the two. Each group would get printed barding for their horse, a squire with their symbol on his torso, and at least one shield with their symbol. If they want to go all out, the knight for each group could have a printed euroarmor as well. Aside from them, we would need a crowd. A few peasants and one or two members of the nobility. Some stands. A vendor too perhaps. An assortment of weapons for each combatant. Something like that would go over well I would think. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 I'd love to see a reimagined tournament for the Kingdoms line. Quote

cdljal Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 *Coughs* Factions, not fractions! Anyway, what are you talking about? Now you can mix up your trolls and dwarves with the new human factions all you want! The old sets you've bought don't just magically vanish into the air, do they? I mix all the factions, about 30 years worth, the castle lands just get bigger as new factions are discovered. Quote
Prime Brick Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 As I always say, Battle Packs, Battle Packs, and more Battle Packs! Quote
blueandwhite Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Looking at the first NY Toy Fair pics, I'm really liking what I'm seeing. It seems like we're going to have some dark pearl grey metallic Kettle Helms. It's nice to see the great helms in their proper colours. The silver and dark pearl grey helmets really provide a striking contrast. I only hope that we see some smaller sets in the future with more of the dragon knights as I would really like to stock up on those dark pearl helmets (all varriations). It's too bad that there are still no clear shots of the princess yet. Perhaps we'll see better photos later today. Quote
UsernameMDM Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Can't wait to see close up of all the different torsos. Surely there is a Lego fan there that knows we need close ups! Quote
metalandi Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 (edited) Just looking at the new pictures..all i can say i f***ing want these sets and i want them NOW! I'm already dream of the new castle, i seriously think it's the most real looking castle TLG has ever produced. I love the look of the front gate, the portcullis looks like a real one! Btw. has anyone seen the new hogwarts castle? I think i might have got to get that aswell, though i'm not into harry potter normally. but the design and interior of is is simpy awesome. There also is a picture in which you can see the wizard impulse set, it seems the look of the fig has been changed: Edited February 14, 2010 by metalandi Quote
Albero - BEL Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Thank you very much for the link with the new pictures, even if I expected something more detailed (for the pictures I mean). I confirm my good impression about the sets: they seem really nice, especially the big castle (is anybody able to read th price, BTW?). The Harry Potter castle interiors are detailed as an exclusive set but the tower big pieces are awful. It will be very expensive, so I don't think I will buy it. If you have other pictures don't forget to share! Quote
metalandi Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 I'm gonna post the (better) pictures from the link blueandwhite has posted, hope this is allright: Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Yeah the wizard now looks black and not dark green which sucks. What also sucks is Impulse sets now cost $4! Has LEGO lost their megablocking minds? Quote
Rick Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Yeah the wizard now looks black and not dark green which sucks. Looks like dark green to me. The black (?) beard is clearly a different color than the torso. Quote
metalandi Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 The wizard is dark green as sure as the sun goes down at night...the beard has been changed from white to black which is great. That way it makes an awesome contrast to the fantasy era wizard which is light blue and has a white beard. I assume the new wizard is supposed to belong to the dragon faction. Quote
blueandwhite Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Yeah the wizard now looks black and not dark green which sucks. What also sucks is Impulse sets now cost $4! Has LEGO lost their megablocking minds? I actually find that the wizard looks significantly improved now that he has the black beard and the dark green body and hat. I already have a plethora of grey/bley and white beards and green wizard's hats are just as common. Seeing this figure with a dark green hat is a nice change of pace. Moreover, black beards are pretty rare and really haven't been featured in any sets so that is a nice inclusion as well. As for the pricing; I don't see what the bid deal is. As far as I can tell, these have only gone up 50 cents from the ones offered in 2008. It could be worse. Quote
Elander Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Thanks @ metalandi, the pics are sharp enough. I believe I can see all details. I like the new castle line. The colors of the castles to go well together and the emblems are very nice designed. The big and the small castle are very child-oriented. The tower likewise. Summarized: Nice work LEGO! Maybe we will see in the future a new Exclusive-Set for the elderly!? For example a Trebuchet-catapult. I believe: We all would to go for such a thing. ^^ Quote
lego maniac Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Sorry if allready posted Harry Potter (its a closeup on a helmet) Quote
metalandi Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 I'm just caught refreshing that flickr page every 5 seconds, cause i'm waiting for pictures of the castle sets, i pray to god this guy has made such awesome closeup shots of the castle sets aswell! He just MUST have! Quote
Alex the Great Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Thanks for the pics everybody! I like the wizard a lot more now that his beard is black, the great helm is looking pretty good. I will definately get some of these sets. Quote
metalandi Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Man, i gotta stay up all night until there are HQ pics of the castle sets. FTBT is uploading such a massive amount of pictures, it takes forever Quote
Capt. Redblade Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 I'm surprised nobody else has thought of this so far, but kettle helmets mean one can finally re-enact the Black Knight scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. "Alright. We'll call it a draw." Quote
blueandwhite Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Waiting for the FBTB scans is really hard! Still, from the quality of photos we've seen thus far, I expect we'll finally get a great look at these sets as well as our first look at the still elusive princess figure. Quote
metalandi Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Tell me what, I'm dying right here! But it's quite enjoyable watching the pictures from the other themes aswell, as they are really awesome pictures. Shouldn't be too long now though that he comes to castle. Quote
