This is a tan and bley CC-styled building I've built for the same display as this house made by Etzel.

It's the first time I've attempted to build a house in the Café Corner style. And it bears almost no resemblance to my original plan. Which at the time I considered to be a bit too piece-demanding as it needed to be at least 8-studs wider (this building is 16-wide). However this turned out to require a lot of pieces too and therefore it's completion has been delayed for almost two months due to the need of several bricklink orders.

As the display is placed on the top of a shelf and can only be viewed from a few meters away there is no interior made for it.

A small "trash-shed". Where the trashcans are stored. Inspiration for this shed comes from one just like it at a appartmentcomplex in a town I used to work in. And the reason it's there is that I needed to spare my 1x2 bley bricks. I didn't have enough of 'em to finish the house. Or at least I didn't when the shed was built.

A few more pics can be found on flickr.

I am not a big fan of your color choice but overall it looks good.

I must say that I love your streetlamp, and the balcont roof looks really good too. What set is the gargoyle heads from?

Nice MOC, although the tan is a bit too much. Also, I think one lion's head would look better than three. The shed is really nice...

I like your creation Mirandir!

I also think that there is alot of tan. But that is mostley because you see the sides of the creation.

Since it will be in between other houses, it will take some focus off of the big areas where it is tan.

One idea thoug can be to try another colour of the balcony parapets.

When are you planning to put it in the store? I will be in Stockholm in week 49, and thought I will visit the store than.

Nice work! This is great for your first attempt at a Cafe Corner styled building. As others have mentioned, additional details and definition on the front would help this MOC to really stand out. But overall a great start and I  the trash shed out back. Great work on the roof of the shed!

Hello!

A good building, ncie use of the lion head bricks. Also the ball globes work well here. :classic: That shed is adorable! Especially the typical out-door lamp make it so realistic. :classic:

I think it's well executed.

The shed roof design is brilliant.

May I suggest a darker color for the balconies though? Should bring out some contrast that Cafe Corner does so well.

Very nice, the colours look like faded paint on this old building. It would of course go well next to market street and alike, oh yeah I have never seen a 'trash shed' by a house before. Yet it makes sense, you gotta have some where for the trash. I like the three lion heads at the top there, it just adds that finishing touch.

Great job, Mirandir ! :classic::thumbup:

Thanks for all the comments. You've really given me some things to think about and maybe develop further.

Well, I know that currenly they're dressing up the display for christmas and I don't really have any pieces to spare for that kind of thing. So I'm currently planning on adding it early next year. Besides I need to save up for the shipping of this thing.
