Svelte is a lucky man. What a great Christmas present. I can't believe you were able to get one so early.

Very nice review. I'd like to place this on my fire place once built. Packed w/ details, it truly is a fantastic set!

Thanks for sharing Svelte. I'm envious. :pir-wub:

Very slick... And I don't mean the captain's organ. :pir_laugh2:

My thoughts exactly... :pir-wink:

I was also hoping for a seamen joke in that review... Oh well.

:pir_laugh2: LMAO... I guess I read over the review to quickly.

In the spirit over Dr. Evil (Austin Powers movie), you can hear Governor Broadside say: "Welcome to my Imperial Flagship*, it's long, hard, and full of seamen."

* in the movie it's Dr. Evil's 'submarine lair'.

Great review Svelte!

I had already planned getting this set before you posted this outstanding review but it's always nice to know a bit more about the sets you intend to buy. I really like the use of red-brown technic connectors on the masts, looks much more realistic than just a flexi-tube.

Looking forward to January! :pir-sweet:

Even though I don't like the other Pirate sets much, this one is beautiful! The detail is amazing, the colors look nice, and it's a must buy for me. I just have to come up with 180 bucks. :pir-cry_sad: It would look very nice on a mantle. :pir-classic: Anyway excellent review as usual Svelte! You lucky Australian that can get awesome sets months ahead of time. :pir-tongue:

Wow, time and time again you are the luckiest man alive Svelte. Do you have ties to the LEGO mafia or something? :pir-tongue:

Awesome review, awesome set. The new sails are gorgeous, and the whole thing has so much detail.

Where did you find this beauty? I assume B-link, but I wonder how anyone got it already...

Fantastic review, Svelte! Truly spectacular. I was hoping for an early review, but even this early exceeded my expectations. Although I have yet to purchase the Winter Toy Shop, so we'll have to see about a purchase...

:pir-cry_happy: Wonderful set- i love all the details- only thing could be better is ropes added- there is none- old sets had ropes and sailing ships were full of ropes- but these new ships have none :pir-sceptic: Well second bad thing is that i'm not probably going get this :pir_bawling:

Svelte strikes again with another extremely early review of a highly anticipated set!

Oh how I wish I had a job right now... :pir-cry_sad:

Im my opinion this is a perfect example of how sets should be designed. If all sets were this detailed and had this many features, I actually wouldn't mind paying $10 or even $20 more!

This set is so amazingly detailed that I can't really figure out how to describe it.

You've officially become my number one favorite reviewer.

Keep up the hilarious humor and stellar reviews!

Sell your grandma!

Fantastic review. Thank you very much. The only pirate set I got is Blackbeard's Bounty. This will go very nicely with it and I'm definitely going to get this. The "mixup" with the dress was very interesting to read about.

thank you so much for that fantastic review! May I ask were did you get your hands on this massive ship?

I need one today :pir-classic: With a few modificatios here and there it should be looking like the greatest ship to ever sail the seven seas!

As if it isnt already :pir-tongue:

Well well, this is a fantastic morning surprise! Oh Svelte. I thought this was supposed to be out 2010...must've fallen off the back of truck, huh?! :jollyroger:

I was dead set on getting two of these anyway, one to build and one to store away for a decade. Now I'm not so sure. Maybe I'll get three!

Excellent review. If this is to be the last Pirates set for the forseeable future, then Lego decided to go out with a BANG!

Thank you.

Need's Modding I fear (and don't like doing that) - good few bits are undeveloped. Gun deck would be empty without those cannons and the brig is just a door.

It's twice the bricks of the BSB, but not sure where those extra 800 bricks went though? Some proper rigging wouldn't have hurt

It's certainly a good 'canvas' to start work on though
