I would buy two of this set if it did come out, one to open and one to keep in the box. It's so sad that Bionicle is ending :cry_sad:. I remember when it first came out when I was still in middle school. My first one was from a Mcdonald's toy. :cry_happy:

Please lego you have to listern to us YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS AS A LEGO SET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The bionicle stars a great but not a good way to end bionicle let's end bionicle with a bang just like pirates!

I support this movement. I think they could even do two versions. A Ben 10-style version would be a low-price-point alternative to the UCS version.

I'd like to know why in the hell this was closed on BZP.

Because Smeag likes to crush hopes and dreams.

I agree with him in one way, though. The likelihood of this set ever existing is extreme low. Like, 0.000001% chance at best.

Not saying I don't want this set, I really do, but inspiring false hopes is no good. I know Lego loves us, but I don't know if they'd make a giant set with a very small market just for us. =P

That's what the polls here and on BZP were for, to show that there is a market (both Bionicle fans and general AFOLs) for this. :sceptic:

Regardless of BZP, I'll keep trying here and hope for the best. :classic:

I'm not going to vote, I'm just going to make my point.

Yes. This should be made. After 10 years, this should be made.

And Smeagol erasing the data on BZP for the polls is just low. He can go screw himself. The BZP admins/mods/whatever are just flaunting power almost every time I see them. This isn't an exception.

I've sent some PMs about it, so hopefully I'll find out their reasons soon. It is disappointing, but I do have the data from the polls before they were cleaned.

I blame Tilius. He made the thing sound like it was going to happen, and in a horrible attempt to stir up drama, decided to leave BZP because of it.

But I don't support Smeagol closing the topic and erasing the votes. Most people thought of the thing as a what-if situation when they voted, not a petition.

Yes, because that's obviously why I chose to leave BZP. Because I want attention. Not because I value my health and my future. If you know I left, presumably you read my leaving blog entry, so I can't understand why you don't know the real reasons.

Either way, don't talk about what you don't know about.

I know most of the members viewed it as a "what-if," which is why I was so hesitant to close the topic. I really wanted to leave it open, as I said explicitly. But even after I reminded everyone to keep it that way, the creators of the topic maintained that it was going to be used for the purposes I expressly said weren't allowed on BZPower. What choice did I have, at that point? I had already warned everyone. I had explained things out lucidly and in detail. I'm a big believer in trying to avoid disciplinary action except as a last resort - so I gave the makers of the poll a second chance. And I was ignored. The only logical course left to take was to close the topic.

It's pretty simple -

  • Petitions of any sort to 'influence' Lego, particularly in response to Bionicle's closure, are not allowed on BZPower.*
  • The creators of the topic made it clear that they were using the poll to gather statistics for a 'petition' to Lego to release this set.
  • Thus, the poll was very much against the rules

I could have just closed it right away, but I tried to give it a chance as a 'what-if' topic, because I try to be a nice and fair moderator (traits I'm very proud to know that most of BZ views me to have - when I learned that I'm known as one of the 'nice mods,' I was filled with satisfaction and joy; that's what I strive to be), and I don't like to punish. You guys can make up stories about me being a monster, but they'll still just be fiction. Your comments about me hurt when I first read them, definitely, but I can't apologize for doing my job, especially when I don't ask the topic-starters to apologize for breaking the rules. They broke the rules and that's not cool, but I'm not going to lambast them for it - they're just people, like any of us.

*The reason being primarily because we don't want our name associated with them. We like the Lego company and are in good relations with them. If you want to do do petitions of your own, that's fine, just please don't associate us with them. That's basic human decency; if someone doesn't want to be involved in something, you let them stay uninvolved.

I read your blog entry. Random and horrible excuse, you showed no signs of wanting to leave BZP until the topic was closed. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.

You can't fool anyone with fake set names, interviews, or "life is taking over" situations.

Besides, if your life is making you busy, what the hell are you doing here?

I haven't read the blog entry in question (and was not aware that Tilius had left BZPower, in fact), but speaking strictly from the outside here, I'd encourage you to give him the benefit of the doubt, Zip. I'm actually on hiatus from BZ right now and started my break not long after having to close that poll, but the reasons for my break are completely unrelated to anything BZPower-related. Something in his life might have just coincidentally coincided with that poll's closure. BZPower's a big fish; one can need to take a break from there and still have time to check in at the smaller sites occasionally. I've made a few posts on ItB and now here since starting my hiatus, for instance, but I haven't logged into BZ since my break began.

After returning from a year long break between 2007-2008, one of my first blog posts was how I'd probably have to have another lengthy break at some point. I've always said that too much of BZP does bad things to me. I showed every sign of wanting to leave, if you paid any attention. Which you didn't, so you have absolutely no right to comment.

To the first two - apparently I can fool some.

And to the third thing - again, absolutely no right to comment.

Now, mind your own business and go play in traffic, douchebag.

Oh gee, if you showed oh so many signs of leaving, why did you just not do it? I'll try to give you the benefit of the doubt like Smeagol said, Tilius, but I wouldn't be surprised if you pop up a week later on BZP. I can't trust you.

You caused suspicion, but nobody was really fooled. /= And if they were, then they must be new to leaks.

Who the hell do you think you are to tell me not to comment? I've got a life too.

I would mind my own business. If, you know, you didn't to go all public about leaving. If you wanted to just leave, then leave, nobody's stopping you. You didn't have to announce it. If it were like Smeagol's hiatus, it would make sense, as people would know that you aren't dead. But if you are leaving permanately, you might as well be dead.

ick this is starting to turn into a flame war and off-topic. You can continue if you want via PM Tilius, but I don't see why you should.

I left for over a year last time. And I did show the signs of leaving, and I did do it. So your point doesn't stand at all.

You caused suspicion, but nobody was really fooled. /= And if they were, then they must be new to leaks.

I wasn't trying to fool, though. But what the hell does this have to do with anything?

Who the hell do you think you are to tell me not to comment? I've got a life too.

Exactly - focus on it, and not mine.

That's lovely, that is. I have blog followers and friends on there. Of course I'm going to say something about it. It's not going 'all public' to post a blog entry. That's basic convention when moderately well-known members leave.

I wouldn't buy this set. There is no market for it. Bionicle is ending, and making a move like this would be pretty stupid for Lego, considering how expensive sets are these days and the expense this set would be. Only people who would buy it are those who can actually afford large sets, and that isn't Bionicle fans.

Eck, should've come on earlier. Thanks for sorting yourselves out though, PMing personal discrepancies is the better way to go. :classic:

Omicron - There is still an interest in Bionicle from the older BZP fans, and there is also an interest from general AFOLs. As a S@H exclusive and mainly System set, it might not do badly if TLC can make a giant robot model appeal to both of the above audiences.

McSmeag - Would you be the person to discuss with BZP's policy against petitions? I see that you were following the policy when you closed it, but I don't see how BZP believes that it's involvement with this particular campaign is a bad thing.

But that isn't what Bionicle, or Lego for that matter, is aimed at. And we both know that. Besides a large majority of AFOLs don't like Bionicle, so if you made a large Robot made primarily of Bionicle pieces, while cool it may be, they won't buy it because it is just Bionicle.

You would have to speak with Black Six. BZP doesn't get involved with petitions because that isn't what BZP is for. They aren't there to sway the decisions of Lego. They are there to discuss what Lego decides. However petitions are not entirely banned on BZP. You need approval of a Forum Leader of the particular forum (in the case of Voting Booth, it would be Smeag). But Tilius didn't have approval at all.

Really? I've never heard that TLG don't like petitions. They've never complained to us about them... and let me assure you TLG complain to us if they have an issue with what we do! We even front paged this one.

I'm going to look into this... in the mean time, please keep it on topic.
