cagri Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Today, I bring you a side dumper car. I'll keep adding more cars to my cargo train. It's really so much fun :) You may view more images from my Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/legoadam/ I also made this car with red stickers but decided to keep it in blue. Here's how the red one looked for those who wonder: http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/5782/39741616.jpg Quote
Ras 74 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 That is a nice dumper car. Also some really nice other creations on Flickr. Like the vending machine. Quote
*thomas* Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Hi, Very, very nice creation, it goes very well with the octan tank car you showed us some time ago... Also, the use of technic connection pins as ballast is GREAT. Cheers from Belgium Quote
Rick Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Nice, simple (in a good way) wagon. I just don't like the sticker-across-multiple-pieces. Quote
Commodore Hornbricker Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 That looks great. It'll make a nice addition. Quote
soc399 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Today, I bring you a side dumper car. I'll keep adding more cars to my cargo train. It's really so much fun :) I also love adding cargo cars to my train, but none of mine are as simple and elegant as this one. Good job! Quote
Skipper 24 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Wow real cool . I can just imagine seeing one of these down at my local train station. I like the additional details such as the shovel and pick. Quote
chris_austin Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 (edited) Lovely design and excellent minifig pose! Are the stickers your own printed ones? I'm curious about the technic pins. Are they representing something? Or in your 'LEGO universe', are they classed as building materials, like a steel girder or building brick in the real world? cagri Posted November 26, 2009 Author Posted November 26, 2009 Thanks for the nice comments. I print my own stickers, they are not official unfortunately. Those technic pins don't represent or mimic anything. I wanted to have something in tan. My first try was the 1x1 round plates but didn't have enough to fill the car so I switched to those pins, we all have plenty of them :) Quote
CommanderFox Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Great job with this Cagri!!! I really like the use of all those Tan parts! I can't wait to see more cars for you train! Very well done! CommanderFox Quote
lightningtiger Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Love this design I do, simple just plain simple but yet effective ! 'Cargi' you might be becomming a trend setter in the trains arena. There is just enough detail to say what this is, a couple of tools, a control wheel and colours, sorry tone of white, cool ! Keep up the great work. Quote
Piranha Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 Nice Work! As Brickster said , everyone would love for LEGO to make small add on cars for trains like this! Quote
jonwil Posted November 27, 2009 Posted November 27, 2009 A better way for LEGO to go would be to put all these train parts on Factory (those that arent there already) and let the fans make cars for their trains. If LEGO made a train car like this as a set, it would take up an SKU that could otherwise be used for the next Emerald Night, Medieval Market Village, Imperial Flagship, Town Plan or other cool huge exclusive set. Flying cowboy Posted November 29, 2009 Posted November 29, 2009 I think this is really cool creation, I especially like the color scheme. Quote
WhiteFang Posted November 30, 2009 Posted November 30, 2009 Seeing you adding so many unique train carriages for your cargo train prompt me to start my very own as well. I wondered how many more carriages you are planning to do. This is a very nice side dumper with the use of white bricks to create the holder. This has been featured in Classic-Town.net. Quote
cagri Posted November 30, 2009 Author Posted November 30, 2009 Hi all, thanks for the nice comments and the post on Classic-Town, wow ! I plan to add two more cars (a flat car & a hopper car) but I don't have any more train wheels so building is halted currently. I'll also need an engine to pull the train. But I may use the hopper car with electric parts too. It gives lots of room for building Power Functions inside. We'll see once I get some wheels. Hope you'll like them too! Quote
