For me it's a tossup between the cheerleader and the clown. I love the hair and pompoms. If anything, it really looks like LEGO is starting to go out on minifigs and accessories; something that was traditionally reserved for Star Wars figs only.

Why do you think so? Sweden will definitely get them and it's not a country that has been especially blessed by the LEGO gods before. I think this will be one of the great, world-wide new things from LEGO in 2010.

Mmmh... it would be the first time we got some special stuff in Spain. Even Impulse sets are really hard to find :sadnew: Nevertheless, there's always a first time for everything and, who knows? :cry_happy:

The cowboy, the magician, the native american, the ninja and the space astronaut are my favorites!

...oh, and the caveman! (great for a castaway vig!)

It's almost impossible to pick just one. I tried, but couldn't make up my mind.

EDIT: And I just hope and pray that these small little gems will make it to Greece. :cry_happy:

If you won´t get them in Spain, you can always buy some (or alot  ) at the EB Billund event 2010. (If you are going, that is.)

Err.. I am a little slow right now, but is my wording spelt wrongly? :look:
The name Indian comes from India, which the people in the Americas weren't. First Nations or Native American is the preferred term.
The term 'Indian' is just considered Politically Incorect, although it is technically fine in a Western sense of the term.

I chose the Cowboy, since I like Indy so much, and I really need that Dark Tan Fedora. I would have picked the robot, but I just don't know about him. Also, does he have the Agents robot arm, or is that arm new?

I voted for the Red Indian/Native American, because he/she? still didn't had a vote.

I liked the Indian/Native American villages of 1997 very much.

I hear of the terms Afro-American Latin-American and Native American sometimes. I expect there are also Euro-Americans and Asian-Americans.

Is it not easier to just call them all Americans? :classic:

Hello everyone,

With the recent news release on this first 16 special collectible minifigures' coverage from various themes, I will like to seek opnions from our own Eurobricks Community by telling us which minifigure is your favourite among them all?

With so many choices to choose from? Which special minifigure is most desired by our Eurobricks Community?

You decide the outcome!

Please note that the names represented are not actual TLG representation.

I wish we could have voted for more than one !

Everyone of them is fanastic, especially the nurse, caveman, forestman, ninja, oh the list goes on.

Hey a nurse and that is a syringe she is holding - new tool - will we see new hospital sets comming out in late 2010/early 2011 ?

#7 is an international incident waiting to happen, since the only people publicly using 'Indian' are people who use English as a second language (ie. Denmark)
I'm sure wikipedia could answer this more eloquently, but Indian is not an approved word in English anymore, much as Eskimo hasn't been used in Canada for 20 years. The name Indian comes from India, which the people in the Americas weren't. First Nations or Native American is the preferred term.

Just because it's not approved won't stop people from using it. The word "ain't" isn't really proper English, but it's still considered word in the English language.

Now for my vote... I like each and every one of these figs, even the diver (new goggles!), except for maybe thhe dummy ( ) but these few stand out to me:

1- Caveman: New hair and beard molds- very nice! The printing is also good, and I find it tasteful that TLG thought to include this unique fig (there hasn't really been a caveman fig, ever, or a place for it in a theme).

2- Cheerleader: I'm liking that hairpiece more and more, and now even more thanks to the new color. I think those pom-poms are the same piece as the clown hair. And of course, it's always nice to get a new female fig.

4- Cowboy: Dark tan fedora and torso (with bullet chain!), here I come!

7- Indian: Hairpiece is great, even though it's not new. I like the facial expression.

11- Forestman: The return of that hat, plus the printing, bow and arrow holder thingamajig (both in Dark Brown!), and the sheer fact that this is the first sight of a forestman since the 80's... one hell of a fig.

16- Zombie: I really like the face print on this, and also the fact that TLG actually decided to make a zombie fig... Apoc theme ON!

In the end, I vote for Zombie, with forestman as a close second. I really want an apocalypse theme.

I have updated the poll again and changed its description for #7. Let's not discuss this in here.

Thanks.

By the way, the results is getting interesting right now with Cheer Leader and Caveman leading.

Great topic WhiteFang!

It's interesting how the minifigs are already put in order by their name! :oh:

My favorites have got to be the cheerleader (2), the crash test dummy (5), the robot (12), spaceman (14) and the zombie (16). It's a really tough decision to choose my favorite, but it has got to be the zombie, with the crash test dummy and the cheerleader coming in a very close tie for second place, the spaceman in fourth place, and with the robot trailing right behind at fifth place.

Of course, all of these are some fine minifigs to add to any collection (including mine )!

I voted for the spaceman. I absolutely love that we get the neat SPIII helmet in white. I also think he has the neatest torso printing:

However, it's a really close match between some of them. Even if some of them aren't particularly appealing (the diver), they all have something new to use, whether it's a part, a hairpiece, or a new printing- or all three.

I'm sure wikipedia could answer this more eloquently, but Indian is not an approved word in English anymore, much as Eskimo hasn't been used in Canada for 20 years. The name Indian comes from India, which the people in the Americas weren't. First Nations or Native American is the preferred term.

I'm a Canadian in Japan, so I still hear it a lot, but it's almost an as out of date as a term as "the n-word", so I still get a little shocked by it. But my (Native) professor in university said he preferred it since it removed confusion. Who knows.

Really? That's interesting. I volunteer at a museum all the time, and I haven't heard any mention of this as being inappropriate (the volunteers use specific tribe names, actually). From what I know, it's really just historically incorrect, not offensive.

Just because it's not approved won't stop people from using it. The word "ain't" isn't really proper English, but it's still considered word in the English language.

Well, 'Funnest' is in the dictionary now....

Maybe they added it after that iPod touch commercial (look at the end):

Thanks for reposting the picture of the spaceman, too! I almost forgot how it looked and I was too lazy to search for it in the other thread.

I like basically all of them but I'm surprised not many people chose the magician. That is one of my favorites.

Hooray! I've got someone with me here. I'm simply dying for that figure. :grin:It's not like I'm a magician or something. :hmpf::laugh:

So many fantastic figs to choose from. I'm not a fan of wrestling at all but the wrestler fig is brilliant. Being a huge classic space fan and being fascinated with Robin Hood since childhood, the spaceman and forestman figs were very tempting to vote for as well. Finally though I decided on the zombie, I never thought I'd see a zombie in lego form and they pulled it off spectacularly, it'll fit perfectly with my horror studios sets. There's only 4 out of the 16 I'm not interested in, so great job Lego!

These mini-figs are definitely looking to be above average. The best by far is the updated classic space mini-fig witch i'll be getting as many as I can get my hands on. As well I will get one nurse and robot, the other figures look awesome but looking at how it appears they will be sold I will have to use the for trading :(. the only mining that seems out of place f the ninja which could be easily recreated with a black ninja, a Sith torso and a exo-force sword.

I think it would also be interesting to gather data on which ones people want. It would be useful to find out which ones are most desirable, not just which ones are 'favourite'.

I want:

  • The Caveman, just because he has his own unique theme.
  • The nurse and rock star, who can fit into my town.
  • The cowboy and the Indian, because they're the only Western minifigs made in the last decade or so.
  • The forestman, who will be the 'special ops' figure for my castle.

Nothing else really has a place in my collection. I could use the cheerleader hair and face for my city, but that's about it.

Going to have to be the zombie for me. They're all brilliant figs, and I plan on getting them all, but I just love zombies

Hopefully I'll be able to get enough zombie heads to get a fully fledged zombie apocalypse on the go - then all I'll need is a gun, a chainsaw and a big red metal door to hide behind

I don't think the Zombie figure looks like a Zombie to me. It seems to be getting some of the most votes. Maybe I'm a bit more critical because I'm a big horror fan, especially a big fan of Zombie movies old and new. My favs are the robot and the clown because of the heads. The zombie has a regular head and body but it's just dark green for some reason I don't understand. I guess it's inspired from some green cartoon zombies but it's not even greed it's like a dark greyish green. Their is an agents bad guy figure that has some eyes that look like they are being hypnotized. That would have been better for the eyes. He's wearing a business suit so he looks like a business man that became a zombie but he has no business man hair. He's a baldie lol.

Grr... :hmpf_bad: Leave it as it is, I say.

On topic, here's my guess on the official names of all figs (assuming they ARE in alphabetical order):

1. Caveman

2. Cheerleader

3. Clown

4. Cowboy

5. Crash Test Dummy

6. Diver

7. Indian

8. Magician

9. Ninja

10. Nurse

11. Robin Hood

12. Robot

13. Rocker

14. Spaceman

15. Wrestler

16. Zombie

One other thing, I find it strange that TLG will be releasing the two waves so close to each other- why not release this one in January and the other in June/ July?
