CommanderFox Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 My shop grew Thats one cool layout you have there! Love that ski slope! Nothing too special, but I did make one small addition Do I spy Han and a TaunTaun? A dark and bad picture of my Winter Toy Shop, but you might see that it has more lights than normal, 3 in fact For the moment I don't have it displayed anywhere but I'm planning to take it with me when I'm going home over Christmas, maybe I will find a place for it then. Actually haveing the dark photo enables us to see the brick lights better! Looks great! I wish I could have gotten meself one of these but sadly no Lego store (none in NZ) or shops stock it here. Rick Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 That's a nice little scene... looks very 'finished'. I really like yours along with metalgearsolid's. Quote
Perterz Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 (edited) I was waiting to purchase the set because I wanted the Fire Brigade first but eventually they've switched places. Still haven't ordered any FB but Winter Toy Shop is travelling my direction. As soon as I heard they got sold out practically everywhere I found an auction on BrickLink, placed a bit but 10min later it was gone, by buy out! Luckely for me there came another online the day after, guess what I passed the bidding and bought it! I payed a little more for it but I'm glad I have it (well almost, it needs to arrive next week..) I'm so looking forward to build it, but I won't since it's a present for my girl who absolutely loves this set and she has no clue it is on its way. I'm planning to make a small diorama for it to display during the holidays, pictures when done! Edited December 6, 2009 by Perterz Quote
metalgearsolid Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Thanks for the encouraging comments. I've posted some more pics I had shared with the S0937 community last month in the original post. Since then it's been sitting on my TV console along with a Hogwarts train. Mine is a mix of 2 x 10199 and 2 x 4756 (Shrieking Shack)... Catbricks also did a MOC at that time: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=34597 Here's my first modular moc/mod to come to more-or-less completion, although I still have some work to do on the second floor, and I might still decide to rip it apart and mirror the lower floor.... the joys of LEGO - it's never really final! It still amazes me how many more bricks are required for modular buildings than classic!Tiling's a bit funky - I blame the 3yo KFOL who helped. Quote
jeffjcc Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Well... I ordered my Toy shop a few weeks before Thanksgiving... So here's mine, displayed under the Christmas Tree! Also, daily we're adding from the city advent calendar (7687) So fun! Quote

Widdi Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 (edited) I'm waiting for the snow, until I'll make a shooting of it outside. If it comes maybe I'm building a new Minifig groomer, if I find time, which would be the third generation, after the ones from 2005 and 2006. But sadly it's getting warm this week, damned Eastern Atlantic. I was in saxonia this weekend, well up there I had a little bit of snow, but today morning it rained even over 800m asl, which is quite high for a village over there. The highest mountains being 1215m (Fichtelberg) and 1244m (Klinovec) mFg Widdi Edited December 6, 2009 by Widdi Quote
JKooL Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Here is mine, along with a little Christmas setting I made using the Beach House, Advent Calendar, and some small MOC's. Quote
Grimmy Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Here's is me and my 6 year old niece's Lego Winter Toy Shop. We finished it together last night. I also included a picture with days Dec 1-6 current Advent Calendar which added on well to this set. I love all the pictures people put up. Great thread! I especially liked the one where the person used 2 Winter Toy Shops to make a double decker. I think I am going to print out a sign for the toy shop flag or put a sticker on it. A picture of the Jester's head on one side would be great. I wish I could fit a design on it to make it the FAO Shwartz Toy Store sign. I miss that awesome Toy Store. We had one in Boston with a huge bronze Teddy Bear outside in front of the shop which was perfectly on a corner. No matter how sad you were, once you walked in that toy store, you couldn't help but smile and cheer up! For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, it's the store featured in the movie "Big" starring Tom Hanks which featured the piano in the New York FAQ Shwartz. The Boston one went out of business. The prices were just too expensive and they couldn't compete with big corporate Toy Stores like Toy's R' Us and Walmart. Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted December 8, 2009 Author Posted December 8, 2009 Wow! These recent pictures are fantastic. It's great to see everyone in the holiday spirit. I see a very nice Santa's sled as well as some other little additions in the scenes. Quote
SavaTheAggie Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 I posted this down in the Train Tech forum, but what the heck. --Tony Quote

glyn Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 (edited) Bought it in October but waited until December to build it. First big Lego set I've bought and built for 20 years! Here it is, combined with the Santa and sled from the Christmas magnet set. Think it's a fantastic set and fits in well with our decorations! Edited December 20, 2009 by glyn Quote
Athos Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Someone suggested putting it in the snow. And it snowed here today. So: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Athos/Xm...oyshopsnow1.jpg Steve Quote

Athos Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I just wish the shop wasn't so lopsided. I tried to even it up by pushing the one side down in the snow, but the baseplates all popped loose. And, since I didn't want to risk losing pieces in the snow, I just went with it lopsided. Steve Quote
JayDuck Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I'm a bit late to the party here. We've had this set up since early December, but I had to wait for Santa to bring the new camera, and then I had to get around to posting the pics. Our setup consists of a 10199, a 30008 Snowman, a 30009 Christmas Tree, a keychain Santa on top of the chimney, and minifig versions of my wife and me. The ski hill is a white felt scarf on some phone books. And I have to point out this little mod that my wife made when we put it together: Quote
