BlueBard Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Coinciding with my last BL order and the University Exams period (aka non-building season ) I've decided to continue with my never-ending City Display around the net. I know, it has been a year since I started but it's taking me much more time than expected and every time I finish a little corner I watch the whole display and I think: "well, a little BL order and I could push on a bit more the street there" I'm pretty sure you, Lego city Lovers would understand me. (BTW, thanks to the admins for that sweet City Boy new tag ) But now I've finally what I call the Ultimate Project and I only have one more structure to finish it so I can assure this time is for real: it's coming soon! That's why I've decided to re-take good shots of those final designs modified again and again during the last year and start a new topic to show in all them. Some are new versions of buildings that plenty of you would already know but there are also new ones long expected . During the next months I'll post them in this order: R&W Bar, Al's & Garage (formerly known as warehouse), Comic Store,Tan Appartment, Y&B Appartment, Central Backyard, Flower Shop, Green Cafe Corner and last but not least... surprise! So, let's begin with the first one, the ultimate version of the Red&White Bar: Hope the old members would appreciate it and the new ones like it! Comments are welcome! All the pics can be seen at my new flickr gallery and (more) at my old Brickshelf one. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Great building! I love the guy spraying graffiti on the side, the cop standing next to it makes me think a bit of the intro movie from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Quote
MetroiD Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Yay! Congratulations, BB! I'm very happy for you :] Are you displaying your entire layout somewhere soon? Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 'BlueBard' you've done it again. FANASTIC bar and bathroom among others ! Perfect somewhere for a drink and then after the drink, even minfigs need to. Love the detail you put in all your designs. The phone and video game machine in the bar - sweet !!!! The pretty tropical prints on the bathroom walls - also sweet !!! Keep up the great work, 'Bluebard' ! Quote
Rick Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 This is a really great design... but I've said that before... looking forward to more 'final versions'. Quote
Ras 74 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Another great house BlueBard! I like all your great things you put in your mocs. Like in this one the Arcadegame, the graffiti guy (is it CGH?)and the railing to put your feets on under the bar to mention a few. In the other rooms I would just try to make it less "study", but that is just my taste to go SNOT. Quote
Klaus-Dieter Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 That's a totally awesome MOC, bluebrick! I really it! The interior as well as the exterior look absolutely realistic and are full of stunning details! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter Quote
BlueBard Posted December 8, 2009 Author Posted December 8, 2009 (edited) Thanks everybody for your nice comments! I love the guy spraying graffiti on the side, the cop standing next to it makes me think a bit of the intro movie from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Never thought at that but it's true Are you displaying your entire layout somewhere soon? I have not benn fast enough for this year's one but if they let me I'll display the entire project in 2010 hispabrick (Spanish lego convention) Perfect somewhere for a drink and then after the drink, even minfigs need to. Like in this one the Arcadegame, the graffiti guy (is it CGH?) ??? In the other rooms I would just try to make it less "study", but that is just my taste to go SNOT. I'm also a fan and I would do SNOT interiors if I could but it's a really large layout and I don't have bricks enough That's a totally awesome MOC, bluebrick! Thanks, but it's BlueBard Edited December 8, 2009 by BlueBard Quote
Jameson42 Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Fantastic job! I can't wait to see the rest of the town. I love the phone in the bar. The time bugs me though... If it's 10:21pm in the bar, then the kid outside is up way past his bedtime. If it's 10:21am, those people are drinking a bit early... Quote

Milan Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 That is great. bluebrick! I mean BlueBard Awesome building, as always! I love the pavement, so clean! That clock is really a mystery! Quote
Zorbas Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Another excellent creation BlueBard! The colours on the exterior are fantastic. As for the interior, what can I say? You are truely a master at designing not just the interiors which are always great, but also the activities taking place in them! You sure know how to give life to ABS! Really, your creations are BB* style rather than CC style! They all have that great characteristic look and that's great! *BlueBard that is, not Brickbeard's Bounty... Great work as usual and I can't wait to see all these buildings together in a display! Quote
prateek Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Excellent job BB. I can't wait to see the whole layout Quote
BlueBard Posted December 8, 2009 Author Posted December 8, 2009 Thanks for your nice comments! I never thought that a new version of an old MOC could have so nice comments I love the phone in the bar. The time bugs me though... If it's 10:21pm in the bar, then the kid outside is up way past his bedtime. If it's 10:21am, those people are drinking a bit early... Then I suppose the kid outside is a bad boy... Anyway he's with his mother so I suppose it's ok I love the pavement, so clean! Efficient street cleaners. The colours on the exterior are fantastic. As for the interior, what can I say? lgorlando Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Love the Building! You have good color balance using the canopies throughout. It's the kind of place i'd wanna be! The interior is my favorite (not one of my strengths thus I admire those who put the fine touches on their MOCs). The graffiti is a scene stealer (nice)! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 BlueBard strikes again. I love the interior of the bar - my favorite part. Like many of us BB, you've really found a niche that works well for you. I love your modulars, in size and detail. I front-paged earlier for these reasons. Great job! Quote

BlueBard Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 Here we go with the second delivery: ultimate versions of Al's Italian and the Yellow Garage: All the pics can be seen here (flickr) or here (Brickshelf). Hope you like them! Comments are welcome! Quote
Rick Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Hope you like them! I certainly do! Although I can't see exactly what has been changed compared to the previous versions, here are a few points I really enjoy about these MOCs: - the interior of Al's: the take-away bags are so simple, yet so effective. - the car in the garage - the drawers of that red cart in the garage - the garage door - ... hey, you featured yourself doing some illegal business, it must be Lego-related then... Quote
Zorbas Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Ah, yes! I remember these two MOCs! Great creations again BlueBard! The interior is for once more excellent! The oven and the burgers(!) are my favorites from Al's place! The customer's head that pays for his food is a great choice! The garage is also magnificient! The door is very realistic and the interior's "photography" (if this is the right term for choosing the right colours and elements for a location) gives the impression of a real garage atmosphere. Well done for one more time! Quote
BlueBard Posted December 13, 2009 Author Posted December 13, 2009 Thanks for the nice comments! Although I can't see exactly what has been changed compared to the previous versions Actually there's nothing totally new, excepting the garage interior. As I explained in the first post the pics of some models would be just some kind of updates. But it doesn't mean there will be no new things, next one for example will be my Comic Store, all new - ... hey, you featured yourself doing some illegal business, it must be Lego-related then... Who knows? The oven and the burgers(!) are my favorites from Al's place! The customer's head that pays for his food is a great choice! They actually pretend to be veal sandwiches but I know, they remember to Square Pants Bob's burgers. About customer's face I choosed that one as I wanted to show you can eat really well at Al's The garage is also magnificient! The door is very realistic and the interior's "photography" (if this is the right term for choosing the right colours and elements for a location) gives the impression of a real garage atmosphere. Thanks! Quote

BlueBard Posted December 18, 2009 Author Posted December 18, 2009 ... that's an original idea for a Modular, looking forward to that. I've been working in this one for a while now, just waiting for an Impulse set that never came to Spain but that I finally found last week in a little trip I did to Switzerland. Hope you'll like it! WesternOutlaw Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 I always enjoy your photographs. They're always crisp, clear, and vivid. Quote
