Thanks for the nice comments! About the photos, well, I always do my best for EB forums :tongue:

About the Comic store I'm having a bit of problems with some poster decals and I'm not sure I'll be able to post the pics next monday but they will be before Christmas Eve, guaranteed :classic: (I think this only let me just one extra day...)

The first thing I noticed is the smart way to construct beer glasses. I might use that in the future.

Furthermore the pub/bar looks great, the graffiti at the outside is very nice.

You've put so many details in all the buildings!

Very nice job BlueBard!

Thanks! :classic:

About the beer glasses is not a technique from mine but a classic MOCish one (don't remember exactly where I saw it for the first time... :look:) but it's so simple that's wondeful, isn't it?

Oh Boy. There goes my love for any other theme, yet again. I don't know how you do it, but there's something about your creations that force me back into Town Building. Cheers.

Seriously though, I love the bar scene. It looks more cosy than small. Those palm trees in the restroom are wonderfully used. And I just can't stop glaring at the facade. Surely there's a subliminal message in it... somewhere.

My love for "Al's" will never go. Especially those mean looking men with a fine taste for alcohol. :classic:

And, sorry for the late comment.

I'm a medieval literature expert and lover, I'm just crazy about that kind of things.

It's fun but when I saw the note at flickr I instantly knew it had to be you

'You see you can use this guy called BlueBard, he's very good builder and he'll build you a whole new cafe.'

'What if I don't ?'

'What size cement shoes do you take ?'

All jokes and fun aside, 'BlueBard' I'm very impressed by your work. Plus you care about one thing overall - DETAIL - right down to the deli counter, to the lamp on the office desk and even the mechanic's trolley, lots of detail - cool !. :sweet:

Please keep comming up with these fantastic creations !

Nice job. I like the relative simplicity of the front of the shop: just enough detail (especially the detailing below the roof is really nice). The detailing on the inside really captures the 'collecting atmosphere'. One thing: I prefer the 'open book' technique in the 10199 Winter Toy Shop to yours.

Thanks for the nice comments, people! :classic:

the LSW logo is nice on the wall.

I wanted to put a proper poster decal there but all the LSW related images looked too much "video-game" to me...

Mmmh... I know that technique makes the "book" more stylized but I don't like at all the gap between the minifig's hand and the handle :sceptic:

Great work as usual BlueBard!

The interior you've designed is for once more excellent and full of life. It's a great success that you've managed to add so many details without looking too packed. It really gives someone the feeling of an actual comic-collectors shop. The display case seems wonderful and adding posters is also a marvellous idea! :sweet:

Btw, you should use the head from the minifig that's reading the blue comic for the owner. Simpsons, remember?

Nice idea, why not? I only have to think how to gove him a "fat freak collector" look

Hmmm...

Seriously. Look at that creepy bearded face.

(Quote from svelte's 8398 BBQ Stand review.)

Only thing left to worry about is the "fat" factor.

I always enjoy looking at your MOCs. They're not too overdone, but you mange to squeeze in those essential details in both the exterior and interior.

Keep it up BlueBard!

Great work 'BlueBard' really great work ! :sweet::grin::laugh:

You know I'm a bit worried about the guy reading a blue book wearing a space helmet - a bit creepy he looks.

Anyway you never disappoint with your designs and a little humour you inject into them carries them over the line.

Keep on Rockin' 'BlueBard' ! :sweet::grin::laugh:

Yep, I think I'll definitely transform the Classic space freak into a fat collector one. Maybe with a decal?

When you're freak you're freak forever  Didn't you see the "Thor" lover at the entry? It's "come disguised and get a free comic day!"

WOW BlueBard seriousley wow, as I may have stated on here before I am not normally a fan of the modular style being a die hard Classic town man ......but sheeeeeeeesh Brother , your work is on another level awesome detail in your latest Moc and in all honesty in all your work, top hole.

Brilliant work as always Blue Bard I am in awe keep it up , and Kudos for the use of genuine bits to acheive it all, your collection must be huge.

Will we one day see all your Modular MOCS connected and laid out in a town/city Diorama/Vigenntte???

That would be amazing :cry_happy:

This is a very nice comic store that you have done there. I don't normally see shops like this with detailed interior, and this interior design of yours tempts me to be one of your readers in there browsing those titles. Great job!

That's the purpose of all this buildings, to be part of a larger model that I'll display, if I have time enough, in 2010 Hispabrick (spanish Lego convention) If you're interested you can see the project for the final result here (but fon't forget that's still a prelim project and some things could be changed)
