Great new photos!

Interesting that they chose to run the trains on 9V rails... or is that my imagination?

Look at the Switch in the first picture, half is electrified and half isn't. Looks like an 'aftermarket' mod.

I didn't even pick up on the 9V track - good observation (suppose I'm so use to seeing it on my own layout). I really like the display, and interesting bridge design. That would make a nice addition to a two level layout.

I think it's 9V because it's set up in a fair, where it's supposed to run at least 8 hours at a time, and several days in a row . So, besides 9V track there is probably also 9v motor on that setup.

What can be seen coming from that swiths is flexible track, which really looks out of place on that setup. But that fair is anyway meant for large re-sellers and business people and i think that they dont really care about those deateils. It's just important that all current sets are displayed (i think that that's why flexible track is there)

Really liking the look of the 7939 Cargo Train. I have been holding out on buying one of the previously released cargo trains as i don't really have the space for it... but these pics are starting to get me excited.

I love all the accessories! That overhead crane, the flat bed with "smart" cars, the red transport truck, the extra shipping containers!

Being from Canada though, I would have like to have seen an engine more in line with the BNSF 10133. Oh well... still on the potential shopping list for this season! Thanks TLG!

Thank you very much for these new pics, AllanSmith! :classic:

The Cargo Train with the loading station looks  !

The only thing I do not like is that the containers have no doors to open and the cargo stuff included seems to be very limited, too.

The Passenger Train looks  , too!

I only miss the train doors and some more passengers. :cry_sad:

In the centre of the middle picture is the railway station and pedestrian bridge. The station looks very small.

I totally agree with you, AllanSmith!

The new Train Station includes a great pedestrian bridge  but the train station building is much too small  and I even don't like it that only one train can drive below the pedestrian bridge :cry_sad: .

As great as the two trains are, the train station is imo a flop.

I saw this display in Lego show room at Nuremberg toy fair last Wednesday. It was really nicely done.

Saw the show room very quickly, I barely had time to notice all the novelties, but 2010 line up is pretty exciting: the new Kingdon looks really neet, the new Atlantis set are huge and my daughter will love the new Cars and Toy Story Duplos ;-)

Both trains looking good. Would like to know if the cargo train comes with the yellow, red and green containers ? Also does the red container off the lorry fit the train carriages or not ?

p.s. the LEGO 7597 Western Train Chase (based on pictures from another thread) seems to have large red driving wheels ?????

Any pics of the Harry Potter train yet ?

That is a good point. It would seem to be a waste were they to re-release the Olten Hall without dark red big drivers. It would seem most logical to produce them in dark red for more than one set...fingers crossed. :classic:

3 small containers with Lego branding in red, yellow and green and a large container with cargo brading in red.

there's seperate topics for these. Though as the Toy Story one is more 'kiddies', it isn't to a proper scale.

I wonder whether there'll be that special brick with the whole to stick it to the crane hook on top of the Lego container as well as the big red container or only one for both.

Do you think that if you have two tracks parallel beneath the cargo loading station there is still place that the truck can drive under it?

Btw: I'm really surprised that the new Train sets don't appear at NY TF (until now) since they were already shown at Nuremberg TF.

Maybe because they are not finalized yet, aren't they?

I really like the new passenger train, looks much like Siemens Desiro.

If you mean the black round 2x2 one, it looks like it one the red and green containers in the bottom right hand corner of the picture, so maybe one for each small container.

I think only one track and one road is designed to be there, but it should be an easy mode to lengthen the crane. EDIT: Actually it looks pretty long in the picture, so maybe two tracks and a road will fit.

I'm really looking forward to the freight train.

I'm not sure if this is old news yet (28 pages is too much to read in full) but according to the LEGO rep I ran into today these will be released in Australia in August (July at Mr Toys) and will cost $230 for the passenger and $300 for the freight.

Yes, I mean that black round 2x2, peterab.

But the red and green container will (after the prelim pic) not be included in the cargo train set - only the small yellow and the big red one.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. TLG are normally pretty good about not showing stuff that isn't included, so maybe the prelim pic just didn't have them yet, and the display is accurate. On the other hand they might just be there in the display for decoration, like the buildings in the background. It's only around six months left now ...

I just had a horrible thought...

What if these sets are not available in the US? I mean, we don't have any US prices for them, and the didn't show up at the New York toy fair this year, but they were at the German toy fair.

Plus, lego sometimes cuts themes for certain areas. The US hasn't gotten the pirate or castle advent calendar for the past two years, and we missed the good wizard impulse set. Space Police and Spongebob themes were also cut from other areas of the world.

If you look at it from a business standpoint it all makes since too. If trains don't sell well in the the US (which I don't know if they do or not) , then it would make the most sense not to sell as many there. There are four train set being sold by the LEGO company this year. Two are $80 theme centric sets and the other two are running generic trains that are about $150-$200. A store has a limited amount of shelf space, and must fill it with what will sell the best, and I can almost guarantee that there will not be four huge train sets sitting there (six if you count the station and the crossing platform). So the store, or LEGO, must determine which set will sell best. In America, any kid and any kid's parents who is offered the choice between an $80 set attached to a popular movie or a $150 to $200 set that is just a generic train that runs, they will pick the cheaper set, because it is less expensive for the parent and the kid likes it more because it has movie characters and cool scenes rather than just a generic worker. Is it what I would do? No. But most of LEGO's target audience would.

Maybe I'm just crazy, but so far we have had no actual proof that the sets are coming to the US, and a lot of things they might not be. If these sets are not going to be released here, I will fight it has hard as I can, and I hope others do too. But I hope that we never have to, and that I am wrong.

If it's not too much trouble, maybe one of our ambassadors can ask LEGO about this. Just my $0.02. And once again, I REALLY hope I'm wrong.

I was at my local lego store today and the new product catalog

Thanks for the news, it's good to hear that the train lines will actually be carried in retail stores here, though I'm not particularly impressed with those prices. When you consider that the sets they're replacing were $150 and $200 from S@H, that's a fair hike for the new sets.

I just had a horrible thought...

How about we don't go jumping to conclusions just yet? :classic:
