AllanSmith Posted December 22, 2009 Author Posted December 22, 2009 And the big yellow truck on the airport picture behind her head could be "3221 LEGO Truck" due out next December 2010. Quote
Hinckley Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 There are train sets everywhere in the background. I see at least four. Passenger train, cargo train, trains cars, cargo station!! Quote
JCC1004 Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 (She looks happy too!) Really? She looks disturbed and shocked at the same time to me. The red one looks like a monorail and the red looks like a cargo train. They both look good from what I can see of them. The new City sets are looking a lot better compared to previous years. Red Monorail- It looks pretty nice. I've always wanted a Lego train. Yellow Cargo Train- I like this one a tad better. IT also seems to include a nice red semi-truck. Yellow Semi- It looks very nice and modern. Quote
Siegfried Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 There are train sets everywhere in the background. I see at least four. Passenger train, cargo train, trains cars, cargo station!! It's been a long time since they've done one of those... Red Monorail- It looks pretty nice. I've always wanted a Lego train. Yeah! I'm not convinced it's a mono-rail, but it sure looks elevated. It could "just" be using the smaller tracks.... It's going to be a great year! Really? She looks disturbed and shocked at the same time to me. Maybe we should have a contest to decide! Quote
MrTools Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I love how the folks at LEGO are always dangling new sets right in front of ul in videos like that. Cant wait to see some better pictures show up (most likely in the next few days like the SW hoth battlepacks) Excuse me miss, mind standing a few feet closer to that table? Quote
JCC1004 Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Yeah! I'm not convinced it's a mono-rail, but it sure looks elevated. It could "just" be using the smaller tracks....It's going to be a great year! Maybe we should have a contest to decide! Not monorail, I meant whatever 7897 Passenger Train is. It is going to be a great year. Contest? There is no need for a contest. I don't care what country you're from, that is not a face of a happy person. Quote
Hinckley Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Blogged, thanks Sieggy! I Scream Clone! Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 (edited) There are train sets everywhere in the background. I see at least four. Passenger train, cargo train, trains cars, cargo station!! I said the same thing an hour ago, before the picture was on the homepage, glad to see no one read what I said! It's not a monorail, it's just switch track so the angel is a little funny. Edited December 22, 2009 by The Green Brick Giant Quote

I forgot this topic was about you. Yes, I agree that there seem to be two trains and lots of sets. Brilliant observation. Are you happy now? Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Yay for Trains! That yellow Euro-style diesel engine looks really interesting. Also, check out the containers. Sweet! I'm wondering what kind of power system will they have? PF? R/C? In any case, looks like we've got some great sets coming out. Quote
CommanderFox Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 These new train sets look very cool. Nice find Siegfried. CommanderFox Quote

It has been a long time since they have ever released a brand new Train series, and the yellow looking cargo train looks real neat. I am now much concerned of the controller platform, wondering if its going to be RC or PF. It's a great year for City 2010. Quote
Siegfried Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I didn't find the image; I was given it and I merely frontpaged it. I am now much concerned of the controller platform, wondering if its going to be RC or PF. I'm 99.99% sure that RC is dead. Quote
Clone OPatra Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I'm pretty sure they're going to be PF. Why? Well, on the box directly behind the lady's head is that orange strip, at the top of which is a logo that looks a heck of a lot like the PF logo. I think most PF sets have that orange strip to show off what PF equipment they come with, so that's why I think at least that train set is PF. Quote
Ricecracker Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I'm wondering what kind of power system will they have? PF? R/C? I zoomed in on the boxes, and from what I can tell it says "Power Functions." Quote

prateek Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Those new sets look nice from what I can tell. I'm also liking the set with that construction vehicle. The lady's face in the picture is funny Quote
peterab Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 The designs look good from this distance (now I really want better pics :-). I'm a bit saddened by the colours though. We've had plenty of grey, blue, red, white, black and tan train windows lately. What we really need is yellow and green. I would have been extra pleased to see the passanger train in either of those colours. The cargo train looks very good though, it appears to have a container gantry and a red truck. There also appears to be a container flat car. It looks like the new six wide round panels (seen in the airport control tower) may have found a use as a tanker car. I think this is a step forward as I feel the eight wide tanker was oversized. Looks like I will be buying a cargo train at least. I hope the price is good value given the roumored inclusion of the rechargable battery. Quote
lgorlando Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 (edited) RED MONORAIL!!! I am so excited Need more zoom on that rear image... EDIT: That looks like a Red passenger train. I see the box near her is a train station and the vehicle in the box next to that looks like track repair. So we have another cargo train and another passenger train. I hope they include new engines as well for this 2010 Edited December 22, 2009 by lgorlando Quote

frogstudio Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I don't really think that would be the price for the sets. Almost 300 bucks for a train would be too much to reach a decent audience, making train sets only available to AFOLS... and if the sets are ment for AFOLs, I guess TLG would have gone with other designs. That's just my opinion, though... Quote

Considering the Emerald Night (a set aimed squarely at adults) costs NZD199.99 on Shop @ Home, I cant see a train set aimed at kids and parents being sold at NZD399.99 Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 OMG ! I leave my computer on for three hours, go do a job and this happens - dam I must catch up now. First, from what I can see in the video footage is the cargo train is the better of the two, the train crossing includes one maintance vehicle and while another which must be a signals or something comes with another maintance vehicle. I'll be getting both of those sets for sure. Second, the price ! Four hundred dollars (nz) would be pretty close to the Australia dollars too, oh well if I've got it spare I have if I haven't well I won't be getting either train set. I wonder if Lego realised what has just happen and it's all over the world now, they better not back out now, millions of people have now seen it. Then again it gives them millions of future buyers seeing it and wanting it - which means mega bucks for Lego ! Quote
