optimus-convoy Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Intresting, can't wait to see some pics. I just wonder if we'll ever see that giant troll or squid shown in the original 2005 prototype pics... Quote
KimT Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 i guess we're looking at a 5-minifig set and a cart...however, i'm still waiting for a long house or a decent viking house. a god would be nice as well, like thor and his beasts, or Odin at the walhalla... Mmmmmm a long house *wub* that would be sweet or perhaps a few tents - for a viking army in siege. Personally my hope is to get Odin and the horse of all horses Sleipner. Secondly I'd love the Contest at Outgaard Loke as a set - Tor and Fire's eating contest :oD KimT Quote
Evil Willy Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Mmmmmm a long house that would be sweet or perhaps a few tents - for a viking army in siege. Now there is an idea :D Yes longhouses would be really great..As long as they dont have to much technic, make them look classic TLC! :D Quote
tophdawg Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 these sets sound great. the army set seems like lego is taking a big step Quote
Evil Willy Posted January 24, 2006 Posted January 24, 2006 Hope fully they are..Man if they could go back to classic...I just dont understand why they are not because so much people want.. Quote
sam89 Posted January 25, 2006 Author Posted January 25, 2006 Check out Bluemoose's quote from FBTB: I need to be careful what I say - that name isn't quite right; "Viking Army Artillery Wagon" is what it said. There's a mid-sized vehicle in the set, but there are a few figs in the set. It is what you'd call an "Army Builder";) Quote
christopher110 Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 I wish I would save up enough $ when it's released........ have been very very short in $ ........... i'm sure it's a must-buy item................ Quote
chewie Posted January 26, 2006 Posted January 26, 2006 :oD these sets sound great, I too am hoping for some viking tents/ a long house, infact, I made a viking tent a while back Quote
Darkness Falls Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 I hope the Onfir is big... I need a big dragon, and the Fanfir, while large, does not satisfy me. Quote
Athos Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 More new Viking names! Phil: Stan: Mike: Frank: Doug: Jerry: Steve |-D Quote
Christian Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Here is pics of the two sets: 1 2 BTW: it is not my Brickshelf folder!! Quote
sam89 Posted January 29, 2006 Author Posted January 29, 2006 Awesome, thanks! The dragon looks cool, and I like the vehicles, both look similar, but they're great! Quote
Christian Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Awesome, thanks! The dragon looks cool, and I like the vehicles, both look similar, but they're great! Yeah, I like the sets alot, too. especially the smallest one with the seven minifigs. Quote
sam89 Posted January 29, 2006 Author Posted January 29, 2006 How did you get the pics? Will there be other sets in the folder as well? Quote
Christian Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 How did you get the pics? Will there be other sets in the folder as well? I got the link to the pictures through another website, so I dont know if that the folder contains anything else. Quote
xwingyoda Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Tks for the find !!!!!!! Lets hope his shelf gallery will show us loads of goodies :oD *yoda* Quote
Zane Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Ah, that's my good friend TMD's folder. Yes. They're from Dash's folder, but TMD flipped them round. TT Quote
Christian Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 How did you get the pics? Will there be other sets in the folder as well? I got the link to the pictures through another website, so I dont know if that the folder contains anything else. The folder did include other exciting things. Link The racer sets look nice Quote
snefroe Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 both viking sets looks great, but i'm afraid it's also bad news. remember the last Alpha team? they had one year of 5 sets or so and then another two extra sets later on. Then it died; no more alpha team... it looks to me the same thing is going on with vikings: 1 year of 5 sets or so followed by just two extra sets the year after that... Quote
Dragon King Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Awsome i am defently getting some of those. wow those are the coolest sets i have ever seen. :oD Quote
Cutty Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Awesome, thanks! The dragon looks cool, and I like the vehicles, both look similar, but they're great! Yeah, I like the sets alot, too. especially the smallest one with the seven minifigs. Add a snow-white to that and it fits into Lego's fairytale line ^^ Aeriously I find these sets most awesome, which I can not stress enough. Repeated for emphasis: AWESOME!!! Though a let down is that Lego does obviously not improve on the fig-style. For that battle cart set I see Lego gives us the printed radar-dish shields. while nice, I would have preferred the flat stickered technic-disc variant...hmmm still I stand by what I said...awesome...yes... addendum: the new battle-cart wheels are a blast! go Lego! Quote
KimT Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Here is pics of the two sets: 1 2 BTW: it is not my Brickshelf folder!! Nice find. Thanks Christian - You really know how to find pics and news :oD KimT Quote
Athos Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 I do like that they appear to all be carrying the printed shields and seem to have abandoned the stickered models :D What I don't like is the models look nearly identical... :P What I'm disappointed about is still no beards... or giants... or dwarfs... :( Steve Quote
ApophisV Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 I wish they had done 3x3 dish shields like those with the oriental ornaments... And the dragon looks silly, he should have a standard dragon head and NO armor.... *sick* What I really like is the white dragon head that is a perfect dragon / dino / whatever skull! :oD And the design of the two artillerie things are way better than anything TLC showed us the last two years! *y* Quote
Dreamweb Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 I doubt this army will contain 15 minifigs, I say more like 7-8. But that's just my guessing. Well, bingo! It looks like I was correct when I posted that - the army thing contains 7 minifigs. So in fact it is a good army builder, it has more Vikings than the Viking Longboat from 2005, which was a much bigger set. However we should remember that the final versions of these sets may look different, just like the first time. remember the last Alpha team? they had one year of 5 sets or so and then another two extra sets later on. Then it died; no more alpha team... it looks to me the same thing is going on with vikings Well, I don't think it is stated anywhere that these two are going to be the only 2006 Vikings sets. Quote
