Dfenz Posted December 16, 2009 Posted December 16, 2009 My wife might say that I collect junk. Otherwise its postage stamps and Matchbox buses from the 1970s and 1980s. Quote
JeffD984 Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Like Ezechielle, I too collected metal CDs and amassed an extensive collection. Sadly my truck was broken into and around 70 were stolen. While I still have plenty at home, I don't really pick up CDs the way I used to. I also love to collect money! But I also have the nasty habit of collecting bills. So my money collection depletes often Quote
Sergiu Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 At the moment, I'm collecting just LEGO, although I used to collect stamps, postcards (I have a few hundreds of these ones), coins, 1:24 and 1:18 diecast cars and money. I think these are all my collections, but there could some more, it's hard to remember all. Quote
Diamondback Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Guns (happiness is a warm Thompson SMG "Chicago Typewriter"!), model railroad equipment (specifically, accurate models of equipment owned by the New York Central System), Axis & Allies Miniatures, plastic models and cookbooks. Quote
Ravi Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 (edited) I use to collect pokemon and yu-gi-oh cards. I also like anything to do with electronics/robotics so I have quite a few different electrical components like leds and motors Edited December 17, 2009 by Ravi Quote
-JD- Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 I collected Hasbro Clone Troopers for at least 3 years. I stopped in January of this year and just had Lego. I got a couple of them since then. I have about 150 of them. They're currently in storage. I needed more room for Lego. I still check Rebelscum every once and awhile. I still like them but I'm not buying them anymore. Ditto. Except I only have around 70. I collected other SW figures too. Maybe I should post some pictures sometime... Quote
nigil Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 I also collect sports memorabilia (autographs, stadium seats, etc). And baseball cards. Quote

Sir Fred Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 When I was but a wee lad I collected Pokémon cards and had a decent coin collection going. I still have the remnants of that coin collection somewhere at home. Lately I've been looking at Nerf guns a lot (I never said I'd grown up, just that I wasn't small anymore...) and judging by what I've got in my dorm room, I've been collecting napkins apparently. Omega 8 Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) In addition to LEGO, I collect the following GI Joe ~ Figures (Mostly just Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow @ this point) 12" and 3.75". I did buy the Sigma 8" scale too Masters of the Universe (He-Man) ~ The Classic Series keeps me in the game once a month Star Wars ~ Figures (Generally just the once that strike my fancy, I havn't purchased on in quite some time) Until last year I collected Comics, several titles; Marvel and DC along with GI Joe and MOTU. I also collect Nike shoes, and have a penchant for perfomance apparel (Under Armour, Nike Dri-Fit, etc.) Edited December 18, 2009 by Omega 8 Quote
Dunjohn Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 I've a tremendous collector instinct, I can't remember a time when I wasn't collecting something. I've tried to cut back in recent months, though, for expense/space reasons. So, right now, aside from Lego: Magic: the Gathering. Not just the cards, but stuff like the novels and comics and art prints. ...hmm. It seems that I've cut back on everything else, because I can't think of any other collections I'm actively pursuing anymore. There is a bitpart magazine I get where you build a tellurion (earth/moon/sun model) but I've kind-of lost interest in that and am only seeing out the series so that I'll have all the parts, if I ever get around to building it. Still, the Lego and the Magic are more than enough to dominate my funds, space and time, and I plan to drastically rein in the Magic in the new year. I like retro gaming too and pick up any old machines and games I come across at decent prices, but can't really call myself a collector. Some old collections: Pokemon cards, Pokemon figures, Star Wars Micro Machines, Star Trek Micro Machines, stamps, coins, charity pins, Gods of Ancient Egypt magazines, Marvel Heroes Reborn comics... it goes on. David Thomsen Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Huh... see, here was my reasoning... "How do I find out if a thread about collecting non-lego products already exists?" "I know, I'll do a search for 'transformers', because transformers are so very collectable and at least one other person on this forum must surely collect transformers." "Brilliant! And my search results find... no thread of this nature! I'll go ahead and create one." And so I create an identical thread less than a month after this one was created. Mea culpa... Quote
VBBN Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I am largley into collecting Transformers, they are my main hobby at the moment. Quote
Reaper052 Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I have a rather large collection of Science Fiction books that I inherited from my father. He's read all of them but I've only finished about a third of the collection. Right now I'm reading Larry Nivens Man-Kzin Wars series, I'm on book 4. I no longer need to use the library to get old books. I've also recently begun to collect merchandise from the Toy Story movies. I had tons of the stuff as a kid but most was given away, so I'm working on getting all the main characters. I have Woody, Jessie, Buzz, RC, five green army men, Lenny the binoculars(from burger king), and three of the Squeeze toy aliens. I'm planning on getting the collectors Mr. Potato head when its released. And I'm hoping to find Lotso the bear once the third movie comes out, I love the idea of an evil pink teddy bear. I've been a collector pretty much my entire life, and someday plan to sell my collection of Ty Beanies, and all my Bionicles released after 2005. Reaper052 :skull: Quote
The Who Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 (edited) Other than Lego, the only the only items I collect are Hot Wheels and firearms. My Hot Wheels collections is worth around $3K and my firearms collection... let's not get into that. I have two pending purchases, an AR-15 and an M-1 Garand. That sounds pretty interesting.I 'collect' pretty much anything I like, especially vintage stuff. For example, I love music, so I have four or five guitars. When I was under ten years old, I stockpiled up several hundred Hotwheels cars, for who knows what reason. Now I only buy vintage Redline Hotwheels cars, with some exceptions including VW Vans and Drag Trucks, like the 2002 Pink VW Beach Bomb I went out of state to buy today. I also collect military issue things from German and American wars. German stuff from both World Wars, and American stuff from WWII up to the Vietnam era, with very few modern exceptions for either (Ammo Cans). I would love a good collection of guns, but I unfortunately have better places for my money to go at the time. Getting a WWII Luger would make me very happy. Edited January 1, 2010 by The Who Quote
Mörs Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Back when I was little I would collect (well, not really collect as in, collect for the sake of having it, if you know what I mean) all kinds of stuff including: - plush toys - small toy cars - fake LEGO (LEGO imitations) - those Kinder egg toys But I stopped it a LONG a time ago. Now I only care about LEGO. In fact I have a big box full of this stuff, and I think I'm gonna sell it somehere... Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I collect Non-Lego brands, I would kill for some Kiddicraft Bricks... I also seem to have collected superhero t-shirts quite by accident. I have a fair few now. Leather Jackets and Coats can be added to the list, I have four at the moment and am tempted everytime I go to town, TKMaxx, the vintage shop in the city, the vintage shop near my university... Plus I am getting some off a friend who was given them but doesn't like them... Quote
