Posted December 15, 200915 yr So I got these two sets today and I figured that I could just do one review for both Set #8072 Sea Jet Theme: Atlantis Year Released: 2009 (2010 officially) Piece Count: 23 Minifigs: 1 List Price: $3.49 and Set #8073 Manta Warrior Theme: Atlantis Year Released: 2009 (2010 officially) Piece Count: 13 Minifigs: 1 List Price: $3.49 First I want to say that there is a difference of 10pcs between these two sets and they are the same price. I know, you get the manta in the second one and that is kinda exciting So here it is: The boxes: Front: Backs: The Instructions: And the back with the rest of the Atlantis: And here come the Bricks: The really cool Minifigures: And the Back of the diver and the Manat Warrior without his "wig". And the Manta Manta warrior set. I like the trident and the only extra brick The Sea Jet set and the extra bricks To finish we needed a family picture So over all I like the two sets and I think that the Manta might be worth the extra 10pcs. But it's not as fun to build then the Sea Jet. I think over all that I like the new Atlantis sets in general. Feel free to comment! But don't be to hard on me, it's only my second Review Edited December 15, 200915 yr by WhiteFang Removed supersized pics plus indexed and added poll for both sets
December 15, 200915 yr Again, thanks for the reviews but your pics are way too large at 1500+ pixels wide. Resize to 800 wide before reposting. Thanks! You can learn more in the Tutorials Index.

December 15, 200915 yr manta warrior seems to be too small of a set... it's like ur just buying the fig... :( :alien: and $3.50 for a sweet fig like that is a gret deal. Next year he'll probably be worth $10

December 15, 200915 yr Thanks for sharing these set reviews with us. I have added polls in this topic, so others can participate by voting their preferences.
December 15, 200915 yr Thanks for the review. I'm definitely getting the manta fig when I find it. Am I the only one to think his torso looks like a blue leather jacket? I really can't make out what they've actually tried to represent. But it still looks to be a great fig nonetheless.
December 15, 200915 yr Those are two cool little sets! Gotta run to TRU today to see if they have any. These reward bucks are burning a hole in my pocket!
December 15, 200915 yr I voted "above average" for both sets. 8072 has a nice vehicle (though I'm not 100% satisfied with Atlantis' helmets and color scheme) and 8073 has a great minifig and accessory (and basically nothing else). I'll be getting at least one of each, hopefully more if they will be on sale. Thanks for the reviews.
December 16, 200915 yr it's like ur just buying the fig... :( :alien: these new fish-faces should make an awsome Davy Jones Crew To me these summarize my reasons for wanting several of the Manta set.
January 4, 201015 yr I would get this set if it has some extra accessories. But I don't have a lot of spending money so unfortunately I will have to skip it and save up for upcoming castle sets. EDIT: I changed my mind. I ordered 5 Manta Warriors. Edited January 5, 201015 yr by lego40k
January 4, 201015 yr Thanks for the nice reviews! I'd rate both of these a 1, but's that's just my humble opinion. I really hate the style of the "goodies" in the Atlantis series, everything from the colour scheme to the helmets. The speeder (or whatever you can call it) in 8072 is not terrible but still quite poor. The minifig in 8073 is not bad, it's pretty interesting... I don't understand the shirt however, it seems like it's a mechanic shirt that was worn out by the salted water, I guess there may be an explanation of this in the Atlantis backstory. However at the moment it makes not much sense to me, and so the black gloves. However as an impulse set it's pretty ridiculous: it's really just the minifig, the rest is a joke. Note however that even if I'd rate this too a "1", I'm actually thinking I might get a few of these to use the minifigs in some Dungeons & Dragons game so don't get too angry at my negative review. Maybe the mold and decorations of these new impulses are costly, and that's why they have so few pieces. It's not a general trend for all impulses: check the new Farmer impulse set and see that it comes with two animals (dog and pig) and there is still room for some more little pieces.
January 4, 201015 yr Great review, and these sets are cool too. I think that the Sea Jet is cooler, but I'd get Manta Warrior just for the fig
