Skidder is a vehicle used in a logging operation for pulling cut trees out of a forest in a process called "skidding", in which the logs are transported from the cutting site to a landing.

My skidder is based on Caterpillar 527 tracked skidder:

Very nice. I must admit that I'm not that much into construction, but this is an impressive vehicle. I think you and Selander do a really nice job on vehicles like this. Now we can use this to help lift those logs to the train yard where 10013 Open Freight Wagon can take them away. Front-paged!

As English is not my native language I didn't know what to find behind that thread title. I clicked and sa an image first of a strange machine. Realizing what it was I thought exactly what you wrote below that image. But isn't it great when you build something that almost no one else tried before? And the result is very impressive! That tree grabbing apparatus is amazing and the entire tread/gear construction, too!

Fantastic job M_longer, the driver area looks brilliant, great use of plates, bars and that specific trans piece. The rest is just as great, a near perfect machine, the log carrying section at the back particularly looks great.

What an AWESOME job you did on this MOC. I really like the tread design. This would look excellent for a D9 or D11 model. This MOC definitely deserves two .

You really managed to capture the look of the original very well. It just looks a little 'too yellow' in Lego, maybe you could have tried to break it up here and there.
