M_longer Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Another model from series "Nobody had ever built something like this before." Skidder is a vehicle used in a logging operation for pulling cut trees out of a forest in a process called "skidding", in which the logs are transported from the cutting site to a landing. My skidder is based on Caterpillar 527 tracked skidder: General view: Bottom view: Features: Grapple boom can be raised and lowered Front blade can be raised, lowered and leant over: Skidder together with Forwarder :) Galleries: Brickshelf Flickr MOCPages Quote
Selander Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Brillant design Lots of nice details, I like !!!! Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Very nice. I must admit that I'm not that much into construction, but this is an impressive vehicle. I think you and Selander do a really nice job on vehicles like this. Now we can use this to help lift those logs to the train yard where 10013 Open Freight Wagon can take them away. Front-paged! lightningtiger Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 AWESOME MOC ! Very detailed and very true to the original - fantastic, 'M_longer' keep up the great work ! Quote
Legostein Posted December 20, 2009 Posted December 20, 2009 Another model from series "Nobody had ever built something like this before." Hello there! As English is not my native language I didn't know what to find behind that thread title. I clicked and sa an image first of a strange machine. Realizing what it was I thought exactly what you wrote below that image. But isn't it great when you build something that almost no one else tried before? And the result is very impressive! That tree grabbing apparatus is amazing and the entire tread/gear construction, too! Cheers, ~ Christopher Quote
CommanderFox Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 An Excellent MOC M_longer Very accurate! It is so sleek aswell. I can just see it being motorized, that would be very cool. Really nice job, and I really like the Forwarder. CommanderFox Quote
Milan Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Beautiful, as always! I have carefully observed this machine and accuracy is excellent. Attention to details is awesome! Quote
-Jim- Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Nice. You are a very gifted builder M_Longer Quote
Batbrick Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Fantastic job M_longer, the driver area looks brilliant, great use of plates, bars and that specific trans piece. The rest is just as great, a near perfect machine, the log carrying section at the back particularly looks great. Batbrick Away! Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 Great design, and it really looks like the picture. Although I always feel sorry for the old woods, I admit you've done a great job. The mechanism looks very handy, and I see the whole MOC is a complicated build. Very nice. Quote
MatthewUSA Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 What an AWESOME job you did on this MOC. I really like the tread design. This would look excellent for a D9 or D11 model. This MOC definitely deserves two . Model On!! Quote
Rick Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 You really managed to capture the look of the original very well. It just looks a little 'too yellow' in Lego, maybe you could have tried to break it up here and there. Quote
