Jasper Joppe Geers Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 Thanks all for the lovely words and comments! The only thing I don't like is the fact that the first floor doesn't mesh with the colors of the two upper floors. The purple wall with red and lime and orange details is beautiful, but it also makes the grey and white and blue walls look very drab in contrast and feel like they belong in two different buildings. So the color palette is not cohesive, but as individual floors, each of them is perfect. Well exactly! In this case the color shouldn't fit as the 'original' building should be the same colors as the upper floors. Therefore, it turned later into a candy store, and Elladora decided to give this floor it's purple... But thanks for your comments Sandy! Cheers, Jasper Joppe Quote
Rick Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 Amazing. Especially the ground-floor interior is pure genius! Quote
Pyramid Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 THIS IS STUNNING! It's my favorite modular building I've seen! I can't even express how much I love it! Everything is perfect. This should absolutely get featured on the front page. I just spent about an hour looking at the pictures. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 I <3 purple! That looks lovely and would fit right into any of the old city districts. It reminds me of the city centers around me. Old building with a modernised facade. Quote
squiz Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 that is amazing ! The attention to detail and techniques used are great. I like how you have described what you have done and taken close up pictures. Quote
Jasper Joppe Geers Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 Thanks squiz, my pleasure. I had to crack some serious maths and puzzles here and there, and these things are not always clear on pictures. Perhaps i should have taken some pics of the table and radio as well, took me two days to figure it out... Thankfully it is just great fun! Quote
Randal Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 This is great. I'd love to see an .LXF of this so I could really turn it around and zoom in up close. A camera can only do so much. (I know that usually LDD doesn't look as good as physical bricks... especially before I modify them in photoshop, but I love looking these things over and exploring them like a fly on the wall.) kinjai Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 And why is it that you're still not reporting for duty to Billund yet? Ausgezeichnet! Quote
hhcBrick Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 A truly fantastic building! I love all the details, and the sweetshop interior is perfect. I like the old-fashioned radio on the second floor too. Quote
Vincent Kessels Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 I am not so keen on the purple, but the roof and spire are very good. The inside of the sweet shop is simply brilliant. I also like your other buildings. Very inspiring. Quote
legitimatealex Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Good lord this place is ridiculous! I love it! The amount of purple is just Willy Wonka to the extreme. Have you thought of a Flickr account though? That would be easier for displaying these pictures I would think. Quote
prateek Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 (edited) Why isn't this front paged yet? This is one of the best modulars ever! Every bit, the interior, and exterior are perfect! Okay, nevermind. It's front paged now Edited May 29, 2010 by prateek Quote
Mrcool1804 Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 WOW that is hands down the best MOC Modular I have seen yet! The interior on the first floor is unreal! Great work! I wish I could buy one! Quote
Delta 38 Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Amazing. Nice colours, and great interior details. Quote
Whittleberry Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Whoa, this is amazing! The attention to detail is incredible. And you have nailed that old-style sweetshop interior feel with your shelves and bottles. Cutting up flex hose was a good way to make small lollies. And that piano is ingenious. Quote
Tacitus Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Geezus! The amount of detail in the shop alone is just ridiculous. Great work! Quote
Jasper Joppe Geers Posted May 29, 2010 Author Posted May 29, 2010 Thanks all for the kind words and comments, very much appreciated! Have you thought of a Flickr account though? That would be easier for displaying these pictures I would think. Perhaps i will try that. I don't know exactly why i started with Photobucket anyway.. I'm not a big fan of Brickshelf though.. There's always the few hours or a day waiting until your pics become available... Maybe next time you'll find me on Flickr! Cheers, JJ. Quote
Guss Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 amazing shop! love all the details and colors on the interior, and the furnitures are just ace! Quote
drdavewatford Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Great job ! For me, the interior is the highlight - the candy store on the ground floor is truly magnificent. The outside is somewhat reminiscent of Cafe Corner; interesting to see purple bricks used to make a modular building, although for me the colours are a bit painful on the eye I have to admit ! I can't wait to see this alongside your other buildings. Dr. D. Quote
MandalorianWig Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Wow, this building is amazing, you should seriously show this to TLG, i would love to buy one! Quote
ILikePi Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 You've made another jaw-dropping MOC, Jasper! It's truly a sight to behold. I love every part of it, especially the beautiful sweet shop interior (tons of stuff packed into there without a overwhelming feel)! Neat floor patterns and furniture, too! I'll be eagerly awaiting your next fantastic creation! P.S. I would recommend getting a Flickr account. It gives you a chance of getting blogged at TBB for all of your amazing creations, and you'll get loads of comments on your individual photos as well as getting comments here! Quote
Wout Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 What a terriffic moc!!! If they would describe the sweetshop from Harry Potters Hogsmeade, I would think of something like this. Pity the official legoversion of it, was a very small add-on to the shrieking shack. Ok, up to the attick. This is actually not finished yet, as a pair of stairs still has to be fitted to it.It has to be one of those stairs you can take down from the ceiling. Don't know the exact term for this. In Dutch it's called Vliezo trap (don't know it's a product name or the real name). Quote
Jasper Joppe Geers Posted May 29, 2010 Author Posted May 29, 2010 Ah Wout! Nice to see you here.. I understand the word vliezotrap indeed, but i was looking for the Englash translation you see... :) We used to have one of those at my parents house, and this thing and i were never friends.. Cheers! JJ Quote
MrTools Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Beautiful creation, the interior of the candy store is absolutely astonishing! The plad table on the second floor and piano along with the picture on the buildings wall are also very nice touches. Quote
