Legoroni Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 (edited) Does anyone have ideas on how to make tle clones look battle damaged? They look rather plain in the white armor(I know I can put decals). Edited December 23, 2009 by Legoroni Quote
sith stalker Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Maybe some dents in the armor, some blood, little bit of ash and dirt, pieces of the armor blown away. That's pretty much all I can think of, hope it helps. Quote
brickme Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 If you have mud around your house then take a little bit an really rub it in and it will look good if you do it right. Don't worry water fixes everything. Quote

Legoroni Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Thanks for the help. I also found that if you rub sharpie before it dries, it makes a little bit of battle damage. Quote
TheBrickDaddy Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Led zePPelin, just because you are a hard classic rock fan does not mean you have to answer everything like that. (But in all seriousness Stairway to Heaven is the best song ever made ). I like the mud idea, I tried it with limited success, probably because I was doing it wrong. Quote
the lead general Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 When you are using pens and the ink comes off on your hands you can smudge it onto the clones. But be careful you don't put it where you don't want to . Quote

What's wrong with burning them a little? It was a serious suggestion. They wear plastic armour and have hot blobs of gas fired at them, surely they'll get a little charred... Quote
CommanderFox Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Burn them. How HORRID! I had a good laugh though, theres everyone talking about ash and mud then "burn them!" Good luck with finding something that works! CommanderFox Quote
Corvus Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Burning... probably not. Maybe a little singeing. I do remember that someone on EB made a 'damaged' Rebel pilot helmet a while ago. Maybe try a seach? I remember it was very cool. Quote
The Legonater Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 (edited) I haven't a clue... maybe through them as hard as you can onto a metal floor? Edited December 24, 2009 by The Legonater Quote
CommanderFox Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 (edited) Another idea is biting them. Well, if you have: eg an animal, a puppy would be the best, then let them do the battle damaging. They tend to bight the hardest! CommanderFox Edited December 25, 2009 by CommanderFox Quote
KimT Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 This is more of a customization question and thus I'll shove this in the MCW Forum. Quote

Commander Flash Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 I'd recommend sharpie or washable marker. At least there would be no permanent harm. Quote
user Posted December 26, 2009 Posted December 26, 2009 Normally to make BD I just get a hammer and a nail and scratch it up a lot then use the nail to make a small hole in the helmet. Quote
The Legonater Posted December 27, 2009 Posted December 27, 2009 Normally to make BD I just get a hammer and a nail and scratch it up a lot then use the nail to make a small hole in the helmet. A NAIL AND HAMMER? Thats about worse than burning them. Quote
user Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 A NAIL AND HAMMER? Thats about worse than burning them. ummm... No I did that when I tried to make a zombie power miner and it worked perfectly! Quote
streifen Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Use a heated mini-screwdriver and press on the part of the armour that you want dented. as for burns, as suggested before, use a pen which has "smudge-able" ink and just put a bit on the minifig and use a wee bit of tissue to smudge it up.
