NewRight Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 All of the World Racers sets were at my TRU (in Ohio, USA). It was very exciting to see all of the new parts in those sets although I didn't end up buying any. Quote
Oky Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 They are also available in the Lego Store in Downtown Disney, California! More teams would make it more expensive. Two teams is enough for a race and a story. You can use your imagination and make more, that is what I am doing while I wait We should have a contest to design our own team! Quote
Spyder Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 We should have a contest to design our own team! Maybe one of Eurobrick's finest could help us out? Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 We should have a contest to design our own team! Great! I'll start making the stickers and devising an already over used color scheme! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 I was thinking people be a bit creative with things, but overused colourchemes are the ones that look nicest. Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 27, 2010 Posted May 27, 2010 How about our own Wacky Races contest eh ? I would do the Ant Hill Mob in a hotted up 1930's car with a chain gun ! When are these sets hitting Oz shores ? I'm a conformist! ! Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 Why are there only two teams? Seems kind of cheap to me. The pieces look cool, but there's only around two color combinations. I said the same thing as soon as we had any pictures of the sets. I'm guessing it's so next year they can have two new teams. Quote
FinalFeature Posted May 28, 2010 Posted May 28, 2010 The Glendale Galleria and the Burbank Toys r us had all of the world racer sets. Also Lego S@H has two of the world racer sets available in the US. LegoGalactus Quote
user Posted May 30, 2010 Posted May 30, 2010 Is there any price info on Wreckage road? It seems like one of the better sets and it comes with my favorite minifigs in the theme! Quote
Jjsthekid Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Is there any price info on Wreckage road? Yep. $30 for US and Europe. $40 for Canadians. Hope that helped. Quote
user Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Yep. $30 for US and Europe. $40 for Canadians. Hope that helped. Wow thanks a lot! I was expecting about $50.00 so this is great news! Quote
just2good Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 We should have a contest to design our own team! Yes, and my team will be called the Toy Story Terminators (a team of TS characters). Quote
Jjsthekid Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but the Team Member's names have been revealed (From Descriptions of the sets) : Team X-Treme Daredevil's Members : DEX-treme is the guy with the Red and Green glasses. MAX-treme is the guy the Red scarf and Red glasses. REX-treme is the guy with the serious/mad face. Team Backyard Blaster's Members : Bubba Blaster is the Grumpy member who is kinda fat (No Offense to him ). Bart Blaster is the guy with the Sideburns and has an angry face. Billy Bob Blaster is the guy with the Glass Red eye. Not bad names. Quote
squidman85 Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Team Backyard Blaster's Members :Bubba Blaster is the Grumpy member who is kinda fat (No Offense to him ). Bart Blaster is the guy with the Sideburns and has an angry face. Billy Bob Blaster is the guy with the Glass Red eye. Those remind me charecters from Mad Max.And there also was a character with name Bubba. Quote
Jjsthekid Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 The World Racers site has now been added on Lego.com : http://worldracers.lego.com/en-US/default.aspx Quote
Peppermint_M Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 Thanks for that! Maybe the sets will be out soon in the UK Quote
prateek Posted May 31, 2010 Posted May 31, 2010 (edited) Nice site. I want to get Snake Canyon, but my top priority is to convince my parents to allow me to get the SPIII Hyperspeed Pursuit before it's gone! EDIT: 2 more sets are up at S@H http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Leaf.aspx?cn=641&d=70 Edited May 31, 2010 by prateek Quote

Algernon Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 The more I look at these sets the more I like them. I'll probably wind up getting a few of the cheaper ones. "Desert of Destruction" looks alright, too expensive for me. I'd like to see a review of it though. Quote
-zenn Posted June 1, 2010 Posted June 1, 2010 I like 'em, picked up the set with the bikes in it. Only for the parts, the minifigs are nice. Quote
larry marak Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 Finally Lego feels the power of the Dark Side! To me this series is the re-imagination of the classic board game Car Wars combined with the best of Death Race 2000 and its remake Deathrace. I don't know about fish bombs, but dynamite is effective at stoping other vehicles. Give the minifigs passengers some Tompson sub machine guns from the Indy sets and you've got it made. Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted June 2, 2010 Author Posted June 2, 2010 I hope those small promo sets make it to Target around Christmas, they are very nice. Quote
The Cobra Posted June 3, 2010 Posted June 3, 2010 Sets are now in Italian toys shops. I'll just wait for a 15% off; standard prices are far too high. Quote
Oky Posted June 5, 2010 Posted June 5, 2010 (edited) The promos are neat. I'd get them just for the cool minifigs. Only Race 7 is still a mystery now. I could imagine that it will be a store exclusive. Edited June 5, 2010 by Oky Wan Kenobi Quote
