echobasehoth Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 Received this book some days ago, and find it great, lots of detailed drawings. So here is a "smal" review hope you find it usefull. facts: Title:Star Wars Complete Location Subtitle: Inside the worlds of the entire Star Wars Saga Written by: Kirsten Lund, Simon Beecroft, Kerrie dougherty and James Luceno Illustrated by: Richard Chasemore and Hans Jensen Author: DK publishing First release: 2005 Pages: 175 Language:english Measures:35.5 cm x 27.5 cm x 1.6 cm Weight : 1507 gram ISBN:0756614198 The book is with hardcover I could write a lot about this book, but I think its better to post some pictures (pictures sometimes says more than words) The book is full of very nice illustrations of starships, locations and more. the book covers all the 6 episodes of the movies, each episoode has its own chapter. I think the book will be rather usefull if you plan to build big Star Wars MOCS or need inspiration. well here is some pics: Nice overview of the books contents planet overview naboo overview and this is what its all about: very detailed illustrated with lots of comments and explanations a very nicely detailed Theed hanger illustration. and its get better there are several pages that is folded so when you fold them out the illustrations cover 4 pages Mos Espa arena chapter batlle of Geonosis shows the vehicles and forces used by the republic and the seperatists overview of the Curuscant batlle every chapter/episode has a picture from the movie (this is the chapter i like the most :-) and again you can flip the pages so the entire illustration is 4 pages at the end of the book a good index this is an awesome book, havent read the text at all the illustrations does all the work. My son have spent hours watching the illustations and i must admit i have done that to. so its a book both adults and kids can enjoy therefore i will rate it 10/10 if you like the pictures go buy the book, you wont regret. found mine used cheap at amazon.com, but can be bought from new at several online stores who ships to every part of the world like ww.buecher.de eur23.95 and bookstore.co.uk £ 24.99 hope you find this small review usefull. ADHO15 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 This is a great book and nice review. Unfortunately, I bought the Ep 1, the Ep 2 one and the Ep 4, 5 & 6 one before this was released. They never made another separate book for ROTS so I haven't seen those pages. If you could take some nice big pics of the ROTS pages, they'd be much appreciated. Quote
CommanderFox Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Thanks for the review echobasehoth. The book is amazing people, believe me, I own it and Kim, its Great for getting ideas for Dioramas. RileyC Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 This looks like a really great book. The cross sections in the book look awesome and really detailed One quibble though, why has this been posted in the Lego Star Wars forum? Shouldn't it be in the culture & multimedia section? Quote

Commander_Rob Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Good review, and a very nice book, I also have it. Especially the illustrations of such complex buildings as the Jedi temple are stunning with loads of details and small rooms. Echo bas is very good too and I think the Ice Cutter vehicle from the new battlepack is visible there somewhere. Quote

MeuLeu Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 nice book for make some MOC ! I think i will buy Quote
Ras 74 Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 That really looks like a good book. Thanks for a great review echobasehoth Will go nicely with the "Complete Cross-Section" book!! Quote
jedikermit Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 This is a great book--I like it more than Complete Cross-Sections, just because more of these locations are things I would try to build into a diorama. The cross-sections has more of the mechanics that would be hidden within anything I'd build anyway. Complete Locations is well worth the $. Quote
KimT Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Does it have a picture of the medalceremony held at Yavin IV? And if so, could you please share it with us? Quote
echobasehoth Posted January 3, 2010 Author Posted January 3, 2010 Does it have a picture of the medalceremony held at Yavin IV?And if so, could you please share it with us? sorry, only a picture of the whole Yavin temple, but you can see the ceremony room in top of the building. Hope you find the picture usefull, maybe you can use some of the wall details for your MOC and a "close up" of the ceremony room Quote
KimT Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Hmm... That's nothing like what I am building Guess I'll have to try again some time. Quote
