Infomaniac Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 The Groomsman of the Stool (aka the royal megablocks wipe) Back in the medieval ages, nobles lived in the king's court. One of the most prestigious titles for a court noble was "Groomsman of the Stool." His duty was to wipe the feces off of the kings royal bottom. Inside of the chamber room, there were people to hold the king's cape and crown. The knight is holding extra cloths for the groomsman of the stool to use. C&C welcome Quote
MacK Posted December 29, 2009 Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) What a crappy job to have ! Very nice scene lots of attention to detail and action in it. Edited December 29, 2009 by MacK Quote
NeoKross Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 The fact that you took this kind of subject matter and MOC'd it... I'm not sure whether to applaud or cry... Quote
ProducePrincess Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 The fact that you took this kind of subject matter and MOC'd it... I'm not sure whether to applaud or cry... Don't cry , applaud it instead. The faces you chose for the minifigs are quite good . The checkered floor along with the stained glass window give this scene look very ceremonial. I'm also happy you didn't do overkill with this subject and kept it very small. Quote
BlueBard Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 (edited) As an historian I must say no medieval court was like this (I mean the manners, not the architecture...), I think you were more inspired by XVIIth or XVIIIth centuries courts (maybe Louis XIV's one?) but as an AFOL I must say: grat and funny job! The choice of the faces is wonderful! Edited December 31, 2009 by BlueBard Quote
Big Cam Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Very funny, and the faces are so appropriate. I like it! Especially good work on the floor, the tile work looks just like a marble castle floor. Quote
KimT Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 How did you make that mosaic window? Why doesn't it fall apart? Quote
Milan Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Nice scene indeed! I an not an expert about buildings, but that window is really nice! Quote
Dragonator Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Oh that is a lovely MOC, good job Infomaniac. I love the detailing of the room, not to much but enough to hold interest. I like the use of angled walls and the tiled floor. The arch above the stained glass window is particularly nice, as is the window itself. It looks like you have used coloured transparent 1x2 plates in places to hold the whole thing together, am I right? The subject matter is quite hilarious too, you got a little chuckle out of me. A very fine MOC, nice work. Quote
