So, have you ever been waiting and have your entire life devoted to one set... that's shipping in the mail? I have patience, but I really like tracking orders that are important to me, especially ones over $150! I'm shaking right now, because it's been 3 days and USPS hasn't updated their notifications on my shipping status at all! How annoying!

So I'm blowing over my waiting free time by building random things and modifying other sets. I think I did quite a good job modifying my new ARC, with new detail, and better cockpits.

So while I'm waiting to build, I build some more. What do you do while your prize possession is in the unknown?

I almost always have a MOC project going on. I haven't had anything shipped to me recently, but last time I did what I like to call a "FigJam".

I take out all my minifig parts and just go to town. The majority of my MOCs have actually been made3 to fit figs that I've made this way. :classic:

According to what my Tracking from UPS says, my order is on it's way from Memphis, Tennessee ("in Transit"). Here is what I ordered:

I got most of it on sale (Train station for 33 dollars-woo!). While I wait I MOD sets, go on Eurobricks, and track my order fifty thousand times a day. Then I get angry because my order won't come for another three days.

Patience!

I usually check the expected arrival date so I have a general idea when something is going to arrive and then I don't check again. Yeah it's fun to see your package getting closer and closer, but in reality it doesn't make your package ship any faster. I hope anyone who lives near a Lego store doesn't take it for granted though. They are able to obtain exclusives the moment they are paid for rather than having to wait for items to be shipped.

I had an order of over $250 a while back and it took a week to get here. And it didn't have a tracking number. Right now I think a package got lost that I'm sending to someone however...

What do I do in my free time? I watch Godzilla movies. Laugh if you will, it works.

I've learned to have patience long ago when I first starting ordering over the internet. I buy 90% of my stuff from online since it is almost always cheaper in price. When I was younger I would lose sleep over being so exited waiting my packages arrival such as my Jackson guitar. I remember the day I ordered that I was 14 years old working at Dunkin Donuts for months saving. When I went to the bank I was telling everyone what I'm doing with the money I was taking out lol. I was so exited! I'd watch out the window for the UPS man. When he finally came I was jumping up and down it was such a big box that he had trouble carrying it to my street since the truck couldn't come on it due to tons of snow. Of course I was exited to tell him it was a guitar but not just any guitar. It was a professional Jackson Stealth HX with 3, yes 3, humbucking pickups!

So anyway, now I am so accustom to packages coming that I can even sometimes wait with it in my room unopened, saving it for when my niece comes over as she loves opening my packages and doing unboxing videos with me.

One good way to pass the time, I find is, watching movies. You get into the movie so much and it is 2 hours that go by. If you really want to burn time, download a full season of survivor or Big Brother! OMG it's addicting watching those. I won't download a whole season anymore. I did it twice and found it difficult to shut off after a couple hours. You just want to know what happens next and who leaves and all the dumb drama is entertaining. lol and this is coming from a person who hates tv and calls it the brainwashing tube.

When I consider an order or a package important or valuable, I make sure that it is insured (if possible), even if I have to pay extra - postal service or have a tracking number - UPS; this way I don't have to think too much about it not reaching me. Then I tell myself to have patience by not counting the days. It helps to condition your mind - waiting at times stresses the mind and the body. Try to relax and think positive.

Patience is a virtue as they say. It'll arrive when it arrives. If I need something right away, I would go to a physical store and pick it up.

I find surfing Brickshelf is a good way to kill time while waiting for a package. :classic:

For S@H orders to Australia, which cost $AUD45 to ship for a reasonable sized order and can take 18 business days to arrive with standard shipping, it's best to try and forget you have anything ordered at all, so when it does finally land on your doorstep you are pleasantly surprised!

When I have an order shipped, I am actually glad when I have to wait, that means I have free time, which I will use for watching movies, riding my bike (if weather is nice), or play CIV with brother.

But usually there is always some kind of job, and studies, more or less, so i don't have time to be impatience.

it takes 3 days from s@h to me unless there is a holiday . so i should be getting something tomorrow :classic:

Right now my attitude when I'm impatient is play lego rockband for ds. It really gets old after awhile though. I swear that I have logged over an hour just playing"the final countdown" which the cheap makers edited out the guitar solo for ds. :hmpf_bad:

Dam- My order is coming on the fourth!:oh3:

You know what I should do? Wait for other things while I wait for another thing! I shall wait for.... Bioshock 2! What a great game. On topic, I usually play Modern Warfare 2 spec ops. That is fun, and the missions never get boring. :oh:

I know by now that if I order something from the lego store online then it takes a few days less than the projected shipping. I never check the tracking because I usually order it over the weekend and it arrives the next weekend.

I went to the Lego store yesterday in search of an emerald night and they were out but are having one shiped to my house, but i wont get it untill next wek. However while waiting i am building a station to go with it. And as with most of my orders i build a MOC to go with it as i wait.

But still i have to sy, it realy stinks having to drive an hour to the lego store just to give them my 100 dollars and not even get a PAB cup because i had to register my vip card. :cry_sad:

Well normally I reread a comic book several times then play with one of those things that's like two U shaped wires with a magnetic wheel on it for several hours. Then I go go on the computer and pres Ctrl Alt and the arrow keys until it's time for bed! :classic:

I just try and forget about it. I do get restless when it hasn't come on the expected date. I have only had a few orders off the internet any ways. I usually buy sets from stores
