captainrex66 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 (edited) Hi guys, here is a lego clone base I made in about 1 hour http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=414743 Edited December 30, 2009 by captainrex66 Quote
RoryoCox Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I am sure this MOC is great but unfortunately on my computer I cannot see the image. Maybe deeplink the image instead of attaching. Quote
KimT Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 You've spend an hour on this? Is this a Work In Progress? Or do you intend to build/modify it further? To me it looks like a black wall, some baseplates and a bunch of walkers. It's a good start, but you definately need more. One hour is nothing when making MOCs. May I suggest some kind of floor, skipping some of the walkers and divide that hangar/base into a parking zone; a workshop and some quarters for the troops? Personally I've been working on this for 10 hours or so and I'm still far from done. snip It takes time, but with some effort You'll do just fine. Quote
echobasehoth Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 ahhh niiiice the yavin ceremony, please show more pics when your done. and is it the death star hangar at the right Quote

lightningtiger Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Very nice so far, but more pictures please. I would like to know about that vehicle in the middle of it all though ? Great work so far, 'CaptainRex66'. Quote
JCC1004 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 KimT, when you wake up tomorrow that will be gone and I'll be on an airplane heading home. It looks okay captainrex66. I would take out some of the the walkers. I'd set up a repair station, have more computers and controls, and maybe a table hologram projector. You do have nice base plates that would work good. Also I'd use a little less black. Quote
Tell Me about it... Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 It looks too plain, too ordinary. You need some SNOT architecture in there. Buildings, Structures and greebling would be nice. KimT, that looks fantastic! You should start a thread just for that MOC! Quote

Great work so far, 'CaptainRex66'. The vehicle in the middle is a MT-RV, a custum vehicle made out of two clone walkers. I will post some pictures if you want Quote
Sisco Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 If the MT-RV really is made of two clone walkers, I'd suggest reviving this topic. Quote
CommanderFox Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 A nice base captainrex66. But Id have to agree with the others about adding those things they listed. Nice job though, so far. Kim, thats one Impressive Diorama! could you make a topic for both of them. Please! CommanderFox Quote
the lead general Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 The vehicle in the middle is a MT-RV, a custum vehicle made out of two clone walkers. I will post some pictures if you want Post away! I would suggest some random junk on the floor too because clones aren't neat and it breaks up the simple design. Quote
RileyC Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 I think you need to put more effort into it. I mean look at KimT's Diorama is just incredible! You need to do a bit of tiling or snotting to have the walls and floor nice and smooth to give the diorama a polish look. Keep working on it! Quote
sok117 Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 I don't think it is very nice comparing these two clone bases, Kim T is probably a very experienced builder with access to whatever parts he may need to build his republic hangar, whereas captain rex might not have had all the parts he needed at his fingertips, instead of praising Kim ts hanger, give captain rex ideas on how he could easily improve his own, I know that some of you have already and I applaud you guys and girls for that. Captain rex, I too have made clone bases that look like yours because I have limited access to the parts I needed because I don't buy the parts I need off of the internet, I only use the stuff I have in my storage bins, so when I dont have the parts I need I need to come up with new Ideas. My suggestion, try makin a bunch of little different things, like a gun rack, a fridge, a water cooler, some control pannels to a computer, or just some plateing on the ground, once you have very detailed things, just place them into your base and it should look great in no time. Good Luck and Happy Building. wow, that post was pretty lengthy. Quote
KimT Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 And I agree with sok on this. It was a mistake to post that picture and thus kinda hijacking this topic. Keep comments solely on the moc in the first post. There will be a topic for that diorama of mine later when I'm done. "Keep MOCing!" Quote
The Crazy One Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 (edited) Well, it's a good start but it deffinatley needs a lot more work. But, it could be great. Edited January 2, 2010 by The crazy one Quote
