Jones Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Went to a yard sale today and picked up the entire 2001 Harry Potter line used but still in boxes for 50 bucks. I'm excited! Quote
KimT Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I bought me 2 of these: For the yellow bricks and black roof. The rest went into my Bricklink store. (They were half price and sadly the last ones in the store) Quote
Holodoc Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I bought me 2 of these:For the yellow bricks and black roof. This is one of the sets you can easily pick up more than one copy: Greats parts and quite cheap. I bought three of those. (TRU buy 3 pay 2). Even better when they are 50% off. Why doesn´t this happen to me? Quote
Matn Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Gah, my heart's still pounding! I just won an incredibly tight bidding race for the 2nd Hogwarts Castle - the final price was just 53 GBP! You guys can expect to see the ultimate Hogwarts-MOC coming from me by the end of this year! That's great to read, it is definately the best Harry Potter-set ever! And it is indeed great for the parts, and the build of it. Quote
Sandy Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Went to a yard sale today and picked up the entire 2001 Harry Potter line used but still in boxes for 50 bucks. I'm excited! No way! You lucky gal, I had to pay over 300 € for my Harry Potter sets, and I still lack many of them. I'm doing a topic about my collection soon, so I hope you post in it to showcase yours as well, just for comparison! Quote
baby Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I bought a Batman Tumbler and Bat Buggy today. Quote
-JD- Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Went to a yard sale today and picked up the entire 2001 Harry Potter line used but still in boxes for 50 bucks. I'm excited! HA! Got them for £8 ($20ish) at a charity shop. Plus a mini adventures vehicle with Jonny Thunder for 50p. J Quote
Lego12 Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I bought some beer and....errr, wait this isn't Lego related isn't it? I actually got some baseplates from Lego.com. (Green ones) Quote
Zorro Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I bought another 5 silver x43 helmets through Bricklink, along with about 15 saddles, 3 shakos and 4 Imperial soldiers (2 guards + 2 soldiers), there are many other items included (mainly Pirate theme), but too much to typ the entire list down here ! I ordered them last week using 3 different Bricklink stores (all located in Germany), and the first delivery was made TODAY Quote
Sandy Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 That's great to read, it is definately the best Harry Potter-set ever! And it is indeed great for the parts, and the build of it. I know! I just got it delivered to me yesterday, and I'm loving the set to bits and pieces! The clockwork system is truly designed by a genius (or at least someone more intelligent than myself )! Quote
Hewman Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 A couple advent calendars, The Krusty Krab (a gift for someone I'm pretty sure doesn't read Lego forums), and the police impulse set which I'm way more impressed with than I thought I'd be. Quote
Quarryman Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Some various bits and pieces from Bricklink stores in four different countries, mostly in tan, and now I think I have almost everything I need for my MBT project. (which has been on the "drawing board" for ages, gone through lots of revisions, never getting it quite right when only working digitally ) Of course, I've just discovered that I forgot several things I need, so I guess more BL orders must be placed And oops, I dropped by Bricklink again bringing the total number of countries (and stores) up to five. That's enough for today. Quote
Lego12 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 I didn't really buy anything, but I got a HUGE package from ExoBuilder! I got tons of baseplates and pieces! Thanks buddy! Lego12 Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 I just bought 3 more Troll impulses for a $1.50 off. Army building ON! Quote
Lego12 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 I just bought a City Advent Calendar! Can't wait for it to arrive! City ON! Quote
Zarkan Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 A few days ago I got the City Postal van. It's a really nice kit, and I might be doing a review. I only wish I didn't have to pay 9 dollars to overpriced Toys R Us for it - on sale! Quote
legotrainfan Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 (edited) I went to shop.lego.com and bought two train motors 10153, thus taking advantage of the amazingly low price of ca. 26 euro for one motor. I just had to do that. Who knows how long they'll still be available. I also added some parts from pick a brick, namely 32 train wheels, 16 bearing elements 3x6 and 4 prepacks with 4 axles in each. Batbrick Posted October 11, 2008 Posted October 11, 2008 Bought the Agents Speedboat rescue and Agents Turbocar Chase set. I really like both of them, though I dislike the speedboat design the rest of the set is brilliant and the sharks are superb. The Turbocar Chase set is easily the best set of the whole line alongside the volcano base for me, I love all the functions and that siren piece is just flipping awesome Now I am buying no more sets till next year however, unless the Castle Advent Calender turns up here of course, I ain't ordering it. So bring on 2009! Batbrick Away! Quote
Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 I picked up a Coast Guard Helicopter 7738 from TRU with 20% off today, can't wait to build it. Quote
Rayman Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 I just bought a 7678 Droid Gunship, and the build is superb, although it is a bit lacking in the Minifg Department Quote
colincmr Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Recently picked up 7991 Garbage Truck and 5618 Troll Warrior from a department store. I've wanted the garbage truck since eyeballing the shop.lego site, and the troll warrior because i wanted one of the troll dudes and cool weapons, I didn't notice the rat until after i bought it. These are the 1st two sets I've bought in probably 12 or more years! Now i'm pining for the corner cafe set and a good old BSB, wanted one bad when I was a kid Quote
Commander Andrew of 501 st Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 (edited) Went to Walmart today and bought the Rebel scout speeder along with the Coast Guard jeep and jetski-Mahjigger. The rebel speeder was a great deal with four figs, you could say the Jeep was a bit iffy Well im off to bed. -Andrew Edited October 13, 2008 by Commander Andrew of 501 st Quote

There's a new King Jouet, not so far from me, in Bailleul. My dad went looking and told me it's a rather expensive store, but I haven't seen it with my own eyes. Do you now if there are sometimes specials or really low prices? Quote
Guss Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 I bought the set at the normal price, every sets I saw were at the same price than on the S@h , and I don't know If I'll have the job, they'll "call me back" , so I'll call them tomorrow ^^ Quote
