snefroe Posted July 3, 2006 Posted July 3, 2006 i got a mail today from my sister telling me she bought lego for about 25 euro off the Sunday market. The problem is that she's part of this group of people on our planet that have no clue about lego what so ever. She's speaks a languange, that we, lego people, just do not understand. so instead of a decent description of what she found, i got this: 'a fire station, green baseplate, red building' I think, i hope, it's this 'a petrol station on a green plate' my guess is this, but i 'm not sure... she also stated 'shell minifigs and truck included' hm... is there any other shell station with a green plate? i don't think so... 'a police station with a bluish-grey building on a yellow plate' *wacko* *wacko* *wacko* no clue at all what's she's saying here; i'll assume the bluish grey is old blue or grey, not the actual colour we know... ;-) Still, a mystery... a yellow base plate in 70's-80's town? not that i know off... 'a hospital car' this could be an ambulance or just a small car... most definitely old, but apart from that... no clues... i'll give her a ring tonight and guide her through bricklink database.... then we'll see... ;-) Quote
optimus-convoy Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I found 4766 Graveyard Duel at my semi-local toystore for only $25! Money well spent. ;-) Quote

xwingyoda Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Bought the UCE Batmobile because it was a long time I haven't built a new set :-P I wanted to take my time to build it but I needed something to clear my head after our defeat :-D I have just finished and I am really impressed by this baby !! Its huge and really great looking !! *y* *y* I paid it 74.99 Quote
snefroe Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 Sne, did you find out which sets she was talking about? yep, i was right about the fire station even though it has some parts missing, the rest were mocs i'm afraid to say... i can still save the parts for other things but nothing spectacular. And the other stuff, like classic space mocs, was waaay too expensive. i did find a tile with 'police' on it that i can't place. i'll post a pic of it when i have my camera... the only good news is that he claims he has larger sets of the late 70's and early 80's and he will sell them somewhere late in august, i'm thinking yellow castle, galaxy explorer,... but i'll go and check it myself... i'd be ok with a yellow castle moc with the stickered bricks and minifigs, but we'll see what happens... snefroe Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 i just got a phone call from my sister again... it seems I have bought some sets i have never ever seen before at the tax free shop at Charleroi airport, of all places... it went like this: 'Sets i probably have never seen before? So promotional sets?', I asked. 'hm... maybe... think so... They look kinda strange. Honestly, I think they are special, but it's a surprise, i won't give you the set numbers...', she replied... 'ok... but can't i have just one?' 'nope' 'Come on, give me a hint! Are there minifigs in the sets?' 'Yes and no' hm... g... i really wonder what I bought this time... Quote
Berry Syedow Posted July 10, 2006 Posted July 10, 2006 I bought four 5994 Catapults. I needed the pin joiner part to complete some brick built cannons. Otherwise I would not have bothered. :-P Quote

Hobbes Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 I just picked up this little beauty- 10027: Train Engine Shed, for only $60 CAN! Congratulations, you got the best ever Train building that's been released. Does your set come in old grey or bley? Bley would be second best only ;-) Quote
Lost Viking Posted July 28, 2006 Posted July 28, 2006 Thanks, it's an awsome set! And it is old grey. *sweet* Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Following the "buy 2 of any Lego set" rule: 2 sets of Toa Inika Hahli 2 sets of Toa Inika Matoro 2 sets of Toa Inika Jaller These things are incredible. There's mocing potential in these that I've not seen in Bionicle since 2001. *wub* Quote
