simonwillems Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I bought 5 collectible minfigures of the second series yesterday. Farao, explorer, cop, circus guy with wip and the most beautiful of all: the Mexican. Quote
escortmad79 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 3221 City truck Was meant to be going to an auction to bid on a load of classic space Lego, thought they'd get through maybe 100 lots an hour. Arrived an hour & a half after the auction began only to hear "Lot 233 then..." as I walked through the door! Ahhhh f***!!!! The lots I wanted were 205-211! So turned around & walked back out! Bought the above set at Tesco on the way home! Quote
Tervlon Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I got lucky this weekend at Brickfair and got these for 50% at the Running of the Bulls hosted at the LEGO store. 10197 Fire Brigade 7573 Battle of Alamut 7572 Quest Against Time 7594 Woody's Roundup 8085 Freeco Speeder x2 Quote

eMHa Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Hi, A couple of new sets for me last night: http://shop.lego.com/Product/?p=8048 I like 8048 a lot and had managed to put PFs inside. (OK, battery box was more outside as a back pack, but it worked.) Quote

Alex the Great Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 On the weekend I was in the states and I bought Prison Tower Rescue and Outpost Attack for $70, $30 cheaper than in Canada. I also got two green 32x32's for $5 each. Quote
Ogre Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Ordered #7848 from toysrus.ca yesterday. Now the long wait for delivery... Quote
RocketClone Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I ordered 3x Kingdoms outpost attack, thinking of merging them to make a MOC. Quote
Brick & Mortimer Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Went to a different toy store than usual and to my surprise they had the Collectible Minifigs Series 2! Didn't have the barcode sheet with me, so after a careful (and time-consuming ) examination of small, medium and fat black bars in a random order I managed to get the complete series 2 ! The salesgirl was so helpful (she quietly let me choose from the box at the closed cash register). She deserves a raise! I !!! I might get a few extra of him (Picture courtesy of brickset.com) Quote
FinalFeature Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Toys R Us Truck! Looking forward to building it tomorrow. LegoGalactus Quote
-JD- Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 One more BL order. I'll edit the post when the parts arrive to add some pictures! Quote
Ogre Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Ordered #7848 from toysrus.ca yesterday. Now the long wait for delivery... Okay, so that wasn't as long as I expected...simply because TRU Canada switched from Canada Post to Purolator. LOL Of course though, "Murphy" had to bite me on the butt...starting TOMORROW, all 'City' is 20% off. *sigh* Quote
Quarryman Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Pay-day and 70% off closing sale isn't a good combination (or an excellent combination depending on how you look at it ) What was left of LEGO in the toystore was pretty crap though, but ending up dragging home two 8039 Venator cruisers, one 8075 Neptune Carrier, one 8061 Gateway of the Squid, and one 8015 Assasin Droids battleback. Matn Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I just paid my 7th Bricklink order of August (and actually, my 7th order this whole year). When you count the seven up I come close to a beautiful Green Grocer, afterwards I almost regret it. But: my project will finally (!) be finished then and when I think of it, it looks so expensive because I've ordered it all in one month (as I would normally have ordered the parts throughout this year). And half of the ordered parts are for other projects I'll certainly do and I'll need them anyway, so why wait to order them. Quote
fred67 Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I just paid my 7th Bricklink order of August (and actually, my 7th order this whole year). And half of the ordered parts are for other projects I'll certainly do and I'll need them anyway, so why wait to order them. Wow... I know where you're coming from. I have three open bricklink orders, so in response to the thread subject: 1450 pieces in 43 lots in 3 orders. As I'm building I'm deciding to use different pieces, or constructing new parts to my modular castle where I discover I want something I don't have... so I've been going order crazy. I've decided to put a moratorium on ordering and just build as much as I can so I can make one cohesive list of what I need to finish and get it all in one shot so I don't get slaughtered on shipping charges with a bunch of small orders... so what I've been doing is ordering the pieces I needed at the moment, and bulking the orders up with pieces I tend to find useful and other pieces that I have long term plans for... but I'd rather just have one decent sized order for what I'm working on now. I may end up ordering PAB online at the local LEGO store... more expensive (*), but all new pieces and no shipping when ordered from the store, plus the rewards card (for which I have a whopping $10 waiting to be splurged!). (*) - I've discovered that in some cases, PAB is better priced, especially when you need a large number of certain pieces that are only cheap on BL in stores with a very small number. Quote
CF Mitch Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Today I picked up the 5892 Creator set. The one with the red&white fighter plane. Built it right away. I really like the sleekness of it. And the working landing gear and the light-up engines are my favourite features Regards, CF W Quote
JCC1004 Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Atlantis Portal Emperor keyring and the Classic Pink Fairy keyring. I removed the rings off of both. The Portal Emperor was fine but I couldn't remove the Fairy's head to cut the rest of the bolt off. Quote
RileyC Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Well not today but a few days ago I bought Cad Banes Speeder. Really terrific set and I bought it cheaper than what its meant to be which is fantastic! Quote
Plastemaurer Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Today I purchased 7197 "Venice Canal Chase", 8396 "Soldier's Arsenal" and 8397 "Pirate Survival" at a local TRU. The two Pirates sets (8396, 8397) will most likely go to my slowly growing MISB collection. Quote
SаM Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 A few days ago bought a 3179, wonderful set, but minifiga not very suitable... Quote
