Lots of pre-Xmas LEGO action in Toronto. 20-25% off on many sets, even Star Wars, at TRU, Hudson's Bay. Creator 20-33% off (finally bought the Dino since it was 33% off).

Funniest one for me was 2 days ago

1) Sale on King's Castle at HBC (Hudson's Bay company) web site, 25% off. I bring it to the store, and I can get that on the in-store items. So I do.

2) If I happen to make an HBC card that day, another 10% off

3) Eager salesperson remembers that no the weekend there was a 30% "Santa Claus Parade" one day sale on some Lego sets (not advertised anywhere).

So, price starts at 149.95, goes down to 65% of this. then he knocks off 30% based on the original price of 150, so another 45 dollars off.

I end up paying 59 dollars for the King's Castle Siege, which is roughly 60% off!

Too funny.

It was part of a larger purchase, so that little gem got lost in the bigger bill, otherwise he probably would have realized that he was going a bit nuts with the price reductions.

I ordered set 1817 'Seaplane with hut and boat' off bricklink.

Why is this set suddenly so cheap to get, especially at Belgian sellers stores? Don't mind however, paying 16 dollars for an MISB set from 1996...

Now all I have to do is pay and then wait for it to arrive in the post.

When you said Hitomi, I couldn't remember who that was or what set, so I looked it up and sat staring at her in the Bricklink catalog, wishing I had one. Then I noticed the price wasn't that bad and thought I'd buy one, but figuring it was a recent release, I looked at the set information instead and realised I own it already. *wacko*

I even got it on clearance, though now I can't imagine why it was on clearance so quickly, so I'm going to claim that as my reason for confusion. :-/

Oh, and don't forget (though I haven't a clue if it's important to you) ... it's the only set with pearl gold katanas. 4 of them, in fact.

It's also only the second set to include tan 8x8 grill plates which, according to a LEGO S@H rep, were not going to be produced after Jabba's Sail Barge (some later sets shipped with 8x8 regular plates instead and people asking for the correct ones were turned down because the part was 'no longer being made'). Well, here they are again. :-P

Looking at the inventory, it isn't a bad set at all, I'm glad I got it. X-D

I got the TIE Crawler for $29.99 today - Target had the signs for the Combat Crawler at $29.99 in front of the TIE Crawler sets. A woman pointed it out to a manager, who said he would give it to her for that price. Since I was right there and noticed the good deal, she said "This guy wants one too" so the manager was kind of stuck and had to sell one to me for the lower price. :) I'm not gonna say no to a lower cost on a set I was going to eventually buy! >:-)

Took advantage of the half price sale on LS@H Europe to buy the hobby train (x2) and Christmas train. I also added a UCS Imperial Star Destoyer - I've one built but convinced myself I needed to add a second bley version to the fleet (of MIB).

Oh and to top it all I secumbed again to the charm of two more sets of those lovely egg cups.

PS as a complete aside I saw a Jackie Chan movie last night with English subtitles called New Police Story. The finale of the movie was in a Lego Store - wierd!!!

7666 Hoth. Way better than I thought it would be. A few short cuts in the snowspeeder compared to 4500, but still pretty good, some of the stickers on the snowspeeder make me think 'what was the point of those'.

Finally bolstered my castle armies a bit more when I got a second of each of the following: Crossbow Attack, The Final Joust and Catapult Defense :'-) Can't get enough of those excelhent figs and great skeleton horse moulds!

Now I just have to get Skeleton ship attack and another Skeleton Cariage and I'm done for Castle 07! *sweet*
