Aju Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 I (finally) got the Exo-Force Heroes & Villians Package: it comes with all the mechs. Can't wait for it to arrive! Quote
mutley777 Posted April 7, 2006 Posted April 7, 2006 I got another tie interceptor and another b-wing today from the TrU sale. Heading to my local lego store later to see what i can find. :-) tru sale? where is this? i would love to get an interceptor at a discount. the TrU sale is a UK online sale. 25% off all lego when you spend Quote
snefroe Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 i bought three smaal sets today: the sw vulture droid; a small rockraider set and something castle... they were all 30% off, otherwise i wouldn't have bought them and they surely won't be opened for at least a year... Quote
sam89 Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 I bought the other two big Exo-Force mechs that I didn't have yet (Stealth Hunter and Fire Vulture) last weekend, and I bought the new A-Wing yesterday X-D Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted April 14, 2006 Author Posted April 14, 2006 Cool, my topic got pinned :-D I haven't bought anything Lego related lately and likely won't be buying anything for a while. I'm really into retro gaming lately (picked up a snes last week and buying games like crazy), so I don't have the money for it :-P Looks like even the ISD and Sailbarge will have to wait a couple of months... Mithrandir Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Amazon has a Buy One Get One 50% off sale for the $10 and $20 price points. Since I already have all the $20 sets that I wanted, I decided to grab two $10 sets: Highway Haulers and another mini-tractor I already have a mini tractor (I even rebuilt it into blue and red versions), but I have a disappointing lack of green pieces, so another set won't hurt :) Also I'm now a huge fan of the designer series, and intend to get every single set from now on; hopefully Highway Haulers is as good as Gear Grinders. optimus-convoy Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Found a nice surprise at Kay-Bee Toys: 2X Ogel Mutant Squid $1.50 each X-D , and they're still clogging the shelf. Quote
Mithrandir Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Since my package with the two things I ordered from Amazon didn't come on friday (see two posts up), I decided to go out to Target and grab the new Slave I to build over the weekend. At first, it seemed like it was really flimsy, but the design ended up being a lot sturdier at the end. I'm impressed by the overall shape of the model, but the colors just don't seem right to me. Granted, Lego probably doesn't have the proper colors and used the closest they had available, but that seaweed green just bugs me for some reason. *shrug* Verdict: I should have waited until it was on sale. Plus the wings are pretty flimsy. Quote
Ickelpete Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Bought 4404 Designer Set Land Busters and just spent most of the evening building it I found it in a local department store that has a good selection of Lego Every so often they must have a clear out of the stock room because they have quite a few discontinued sets I have seen alpha team and Orient Expedition sets on their shelves in the last few months Quote
ApophisV Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 7702 - Thunder Fury Aredhel gave it to me as a easter present... *wub* Quote
Mithrandir Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Yesterday someone posted a bunch of pics for some new 2006 sets; among them was the new Striking Venom Exo-Force set. Up until then, I didn't pay much attention to Exo-Force, as it seemed more of a kiddie play-theme and I usually go for the more advanced stuff (technic mostly). I bought the Sonic Phantom for Christmas for myself, simply because I like the giant fans and I can put those into some custom stuff later, but overall the set didn't really wow me, since it was way too flimsy, and I just ignored Exo-Force from then on. But damn that pic of the Striking Venom impressed me, and it convinced me to take a second look at Exo-Force, and after looking at all the part inventories and stuff, I finally decided to buy the Heros and Villians set from S@H: 7700 Stealth Hunter 7701 Grand Titan 7702 Thunder Fury 7703 Fire Vulture 7708 Uplink 7711 Sentry They look pretty good, they all come with alternate sets and combination instructions too (except the last two), so hopefully I'll be happy when they arrive sometime next week. I've had my eye on the Ice Planet stuff for a while now, and I intend to get it all eventually (my dark ages started at about the same time IP2002 came out; I loved the sets but somehow got distracted and never got any of the big ones). :\ Quote

natelite Posted April 20, 2006 Posted April 20, 2006 I like Exo-force too. Got a great deal from the toysrus pre-easter sale. Problem though with the line is that the mechs have poor cockpit design. Almost every single mech offers little to no protection to the pilot. When I compare them to some of the MOCs found on brickshelf, the line began to pale in comparison. Instead of skimping on parts trying to get the cost down they should have designed much stronger product just like how they approached star wars. It could have been a much bigger blockbuster seller if only they designed better fitting cockpits and price at $20 or $25 per mech. i think spitting venom is okay. This MOC to me is more impressive than spitting venom though! http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Nash/Spider-Mecha/ Quote

Kikuichimonji Posted April 26, 2006 Author Posted April 26, 2006 Only Lego I've bought lately were 2 of these in yellow. I don't need more and I pretty much stopped buying sets unless they seem to be good parts packs (or SW sets ;-) ). Quote
