These sets suck.

Also they should come out now or the game show come out later, that is a really bad screw up on LEGOs part that I think will cost them.

The hut is the worst one they have made yet, the Quinidditch thing is OK, but it's not a great idea for a set, just used to make the minifigures, which are nice. The Burrow set is OK, really packed for of stuff too. The sets are great for random parts, like the new color cat in the castle, but otherwise quite lacking in design.

The hut... I can't get over how bad it is.

I think I'm the only person that actually likes the hut. I don't have any Harry Potter sets, and I've never seen the movies or read the books, but these look great! I actually want to buy all of them, at least for minifigs and parts.

Seriously TGBG, do these sets really suck? Why? You say they suck, then you go on to say how some things are ok; that there are good pieces in some of these. I'm really confused.

Please clarify for those of us who do not share your constant pessimistic attitude. Thanks.

I'm so excited for this line! I'm already planning to take apart my current Hogwarts for the pieces to mod the new one. I've always managed to miss out on the most important Harry Potter sets, and all the ones I've wanted are here. I plan to get the castle, the wonderful burrow, dobby's release (I've always wanted a Dobby  ), and hargrid's hut. Hagrid was always one of my favorite characters but I never got the first two huts. I want the train too, but it seems overly expensive.

The only thing I don't like about this is that I comes out the same time as the Toy Story 3 sets. Both of these themes are one I would love to get all of, mostly for full sets of figs. But I don't think I can afford to get all of them. Its going to be tough deciding which I want most.

to be fair; most of these sets are remakes, and many people were quite pessimistic about how they would turn out. i think that except for hagrid's hut, all of the sets turned out better than expected.

I think I'm the only person that actually likes the hut.

I like it too, though I do see some flaws in it's design. Overall it seems to be a simplified version of the hut made during PoA. I could do without the acramantula, but the set a s a whole is a must-have for me. Though admittedly, a lot of that has to do with the fact that it comes with a Hagrid minifigure, lol (don't have one yet). The light-up feature is going to be very interesting to see. Especially since it'll be the first Lego set I'll ever own that has one.

Really, the only sets I'm actually disappointed in are the Hogwarts Express and the Quidditch Match. I'd love to own a Luna Lovegood minifigure, but other than the car, there aren't any other things about the set I'm interested in. About the same thing can be said for the Quidditch Match set. Other than the new Draco figure and the Madam Hooch figure, I really have no interest in the set. However, since it's only $20, there's still a chance I'll get it. Where as the Hogwarts Express is $80, which causes me to looks almost all interest in it. Yeah, it's a lot of pieces, but it just doesn't seem like it should cost $80.

Overall, there's really only two things I think are missing from the castle. Both of which have been made in previous versions of the castle. The clock tower and the greenhouse. I think it would be cool if they made a second castle set as an add-on to this main one. They could easily remake the clock tower to fit it, and then modify the existing greenhouse to do the same. Beyond that it would be cool if they also made some dungeons/lower levels to add on to the underside of the castle. A remake of the chamber of secrets wouldn't be all that hard, imo. Maybe even a remake of Fluffy's chamber.

With the 4-5 Harry Potter sets and the one Star Wars set I'm planning on getting this year, Lego is going to get a good chunk of money from me this year, lol.

I don't think so. TS3 sets come out in the spring, since the movie comes out in June.

HP sets don't come out until October, according to the Toy Fair cards anyway. That's a big gap between the two themes.

Will be getting the small set for sure. I don't have a fleshie Harry or a Dobby, and the Lucius looks like he has a nice suit.

Also the trans orange parts [name of them escapes me] and a broom. :D

The Quidditch set is definitely a new turn for Lego, jacking up the figs, and lowering the parts. I'll still get it. New Draco haiiiir.

Burrow has a nice assortment of figs, and some decent parts, especially all the Dark Red. It has the crazy design, and playability.

Also a new owl mold! With print on the face!

The hut looks fine to me. Printed parts [i assume, and hope, seeing it's licensed], Sand Green, etc. etc. I can't believe it's 400+ parts though... how? It looks exactly the same as the old one [4754]. ._. Also Ron haiiiiir

Train looks gorgeous. I like the design, and there's an invisiblity cloak [possibly stolen from Beleville?] and Luna! I wish she was in a cheaper set though. =/

Castle is spiffy. Exclusive minifigs galore, decorated rooms, like the Great Hall and the Divination Room. Neato.

Bella is  ! And yay for printed owls and sorting hat! :sweet: The figs are great, but I can't help but feel that the sets themselves are a bit lacking. Don't get me wrong, they are great, and I'm super happy this theme got revived, but still, most of the sets look a bit too much like their original versions.

Does anybody know who that in the Great Hall is? :look:

The Burrows is a definite must-buy though! Can't wait for these and the game(s) to come out!

Bellatrix and Grayback look quite amazing, though so do most, if not all, of the minifigures. I really hope that the owls having the printed chests and face details carries over to t he other sets.

It's nice to get a better angle at what Flitwick looks like. Looks quite cool for a movie-only character. Also, looking at the hat in front of Dumbledore, looks like it has some printing on it. Makes me think it's the sorting hat.

It's confusing as to what he's standing in, but that is DEFINITELY a Lord Voldemort figure in the ground floor of the astronomy tower. He looks quite good too, though slightly odd in green robes.

I also still have no idea what the middle part of the astronomy tower is supposed to be.

Edit: Now I think I know what it is, the thing that Voldemort is in is the vanishing cabinet. Which means the middle part there could very well be the room of requirement.

Also, really nice to get a better look at the pig in the Burrow set. Nice touch, not necessary, but nice.

Another better look at the main tower reveals that the bottom section is the Slytherin common room (odd, since the set doesn't have any Slytherin students), making the third level to it the Gryffindor common room.

I think I just died and went to heaven, and then came back to buy all these sets. Now seeing the figures up close, the Burrow set transcends words.

We all thought HP was dead dead dead, and now… even if it is only this wave, it is still so spectacular.

i'm actually quite surprised though; with the Burrow being one of the most discussed and anticipated sets... we get the least pictures of it... hope more new photos show up soon.

Yeah, perhaps a clear picture of the front would make me like it more. I still find it weird that they've made it so dark... The scene on the box is at night, so they make the Burrow in a dark colour. I think, if it had brighter colours, I would like it from the first instant. But now it has to grow on me. The interior and minifigures are beautiful, it's just the dark colour I don't like so much.

AND WOW! The figures are too awesome! I like all the new designs. Bellatrix' hairpiece is beautiful. The faces look spot-on! Ginny's hair is very nice. Fenrir looks wicked. Harry looks pretty funny! And Ron is, finally, perfect. The new owls are amazing.

The new figures look almost cartoony, but I like them anyway. Thanks for these pictures.

I'm not sure why the Burrow shouldn't be dark.

Here's a picture from one of the films:

burrow.jpg

It looks pretty dark even in the daylight, so I think LEGO's color match the film well.

It looks like Ginny has a reversible head, since she definitely looks angry in the train picture while she looks happy in the Burrow picture. I don't remember when Ginny ever got very angry, but it's still nice.

Voldemort looks like he's standing in a closet. And I still don't understand what that locked case on the floor above him is. In time, all must be revealed.

Bellatrix and Ginny; incredible. my feel so emotional right now :cry_happy:

I feel the same like you. I thought they would stop with LEGO Harry Potter. I was so unhappy when we discovered the 3rd Hogwarts Castle set would be the last one. I was unhappy because we would never see the Weasley family in LEGO and other important or wicked characters. And now this. All these beautiful figures at once. These new designs are just perfect to me, they look like their film counterparts or just like I imagined from in the book. Thank you, LEGO!

Just made a quick list of all the minifigures included in each set:

Freeing Dobby:

-Harry Potter

-Dobby

-Lucius Malfoy

Quidditch Match:

-Madam Hooch

-Harry Potter

-Olliver Wood

-Draco Malfoy

-Marcus Flint

Hagrid's Hut:

-Hagrid

-Harry Potter

-Ron Weasley

-Hermione Granger

The Burrow:

-Harry Potter

-Ron Weasley

-Ginny Weasley

-Arthur Weasley

-Molly Weasley

-Bellatrix Lestrange

-Fenre Grayback

Hogwarts Express:

-Harry Potter

-Ron Weasley

-Ginny Weasley

-Luna Lovegood

-Draco Malfoy

Hogwarts Castle:

-Harry Potter

-Hermione Granger

-Albus Dumbledore

-Minerva McGonagall

-Severus Snape

-Flitwick

-Argus Filtch

-Lord Voldemort

-Dementor(2)

-Suit of Armor

The new castle set has, as far as I can tell, the most minifigures released in a Harry Potter set to date (well, if you count each Dementor and the suit of armor). Still, I'm hoping theres still one minifigure in the set. I'd rather not have to get the Hogwarts Express set to get the new Draco Malfoy head and hair on a school robes minifigure.

While it is nice that they are bringing the Harry Potter sets back, there don't seem to be a lot of improvements. But, as long as they don't release like 20 sets for every movie like they did before they should be good.

hmmm... we're only missing one head of house in these sets... Snape for Slytherin, Flitwick for Ravenclaw, McGonagall for Gryffindor; I don't remember who the head of house of Hufflepuff is though... I think it was Prof. Sprout... I would prefer they add more professors and death eaters as opposed to giving us dementors...

Bring it on, I suggest! I would love to see 40 sets released this year and the next one! If they include figures like these, I'm perfectly happy with it. But my wallet won't be.
