Actually i think what was displayed will be more the real thing than what you see on the box design. The boy designs are still the preliminary ones while i think the actual sets displayed are more like what they will look really.

Yep. Even parts of the castle in the box picture don't look like the ones on the set in the pictures. This early the box designs are always preliminary/test packaging, meant to give a general idea of what the set will be like. The sets on display seem to be more finalized versions of them.

I'm really happy to see the castle from some different angles. Part of me is really hoping that the Voldemort figure isn't the final version. The green just looks odd on him, and it doesn't really make any sense. Unless he wears green in one of the two parts to Deathly Hallows, or something. Black, or even a really dark gray, would have been much better. He also looks like he's wearing one of the Slytherin Quidditch cloaks.

I'm really hoping they decide to make more after these sets. Even if we get mostly remakes of older sets with just a few new sets, I'll be a happy camper. Visually these sets are really good, and they seem like they'll be of decent quality. Hopefully with Star Wars on the way out they'll decide to keep the Harry Potter theme going for a little while longer. Hopefully the new sets, and the board and video games sell well, so that they'll see a reason to continue with the theme. Plus, they'll have the rights to do so for at least a while, depending on how long it is till the contract is up, sot hey might as well use it while they've got it.

As great as the castle set looks, it looks incomplete, to at least a certain degree. I've said it before, but I think it would be cool if they made a second set to attach to this one. At the very least make a clock tower and greenhouse that can attach, if not another tower of Hogwarts. Maybe have it look like some of the classrooms.

Indeed. There's no Trelawney in that set, they just used the old figure in place of McGonagall on the preliminary box. The boxes do not display the actual sets, they include white parts as placeholders in the models and the figures are all wrong. All the boxes really show us is how many and which figures come in the sets, and the piece count. For what actually comes in each set, look at the built thing, not the box.

thanks for confirmation..

hiks... no trelawney... maybe will be better if this set still with trewlayne than mcGonagall.

anyway, I really impress with new harry potter sets, especially for the great minigures, thanks for TLG !!

I doubt it, lego has already given us tons of figures with the castle about 11 if I'm not mistaken, so I dont think they'll over do it and Trelawney was an exlusive to the second castle (3rd film) :/ as much as I want her again I dont think shes included but we can only hope for the best! :)

But the burrow needs to be bigger though, and needs a ghoul.

And the Quidditch set needs to be bigger with more rings and more players and needs to be stadium size.

It is a Lego set. It is trimmed for size and price.

Sorry, I can't really find the words to describe my enjoyment over these sets. I just love them all!

They already have made other sets to attach to this one: the older Hogwarts. Why would you need them to make another clock tower or greenhouse when you can get them from the old sets?

Guys, please be reasonable with your demands and thankful for what you've already been given. You can't seriously expect TLG to produce every character or building in the whole series, can you?

Indeed. And you can always build your own Burrow, like I did because I wasn't expecting a set. It would be nice to have a stadium sized Quidditch arena, but I'm not a huge fan of the Quidditch sport, so I'll focus my creations on other things.

Meanwhile, I've got so many ideas in my head to make with these figures. I can't wait!

EDIT: I agree with Sandy. But there are still some nice ideas to build, if LEGO would run out of them. But I'm very happy with remakes, look at the newest Hogwarts set! It's as good as the second version. I just hope we'll get too see some main characters. Neville and the Weasley twins would be very welcome.

Luna is most likely 2 faced, Spectrespecs and normal. Well, as normal as you can get with her. Bellatrix looks evil! Also, about this whole Luna/Car business, she was in her first year at the time the car was, so technically, she was there.

Not to sound argumentative, but all I'm saying is that I think it would be interesting to see them make an add on set that fully matched the new castle. As it is I think the previous castle parts might not match all that well with the new castle. Though they could very well go well together once someone takes pictures of the new set next to the older sets. It's a wait and see sort of thing. I'm honestly not making any "demands", I just find it fun to think up ideas for new sets (I often do the same thing with Transformers).

For example, I think it would be interesting if they made a set based off of Shell Cottage. With what will happen there in the movies, I think there is a chance they could make a set based off of it, but at the same time I'm not expecting/demanding them to do it. Would definitely give them the chance to make some unique characters, but it's hard to say, from my point of view, whether or not it would sell well. For all I know, the idea could be a potential hit, but it could also be a huge flop. To put it simply, it's a set idea that I think would be cool to see them make, but not something I'm going to get all upset about if they don't. The fact alone that they are making more HP themed sets makes me a very happy camper, let alone how good they look.

Harry Potter returns in style! The new Hogwarts is *amazing* - what a beautiful looking build - easily better than the last version. So many bricks! I don't care if it's pricey, for once I'm glad they've gone all out with the set design rather than trying to cut corners. It kind of looks more medieval and even MOCish than previous versions which relied on the large curved walls and turret pieces. Tan castle corners! Dark tan logs and arches! Wonderful! (And this opinion is without even looking at the figs too closely). Hogwarts and even the PoP Alamut set easily kick the non-licensed Kingdoms castle out of the water

The Burrows looks like a fantastically quirky building too - a really different look to the buildings we normally get. So many colours!

We really are spoiled this year  It's about time!

It may not be very big, but it surely looks impressive.

That's what she said! :look:

OMG!!! I am so excited, I'm like 12 year old girl at a Jonas Brothers concert, with the squealing and the OMG OMGing.

These sets looks incredible, fantastic, amazing!!! Ohhhh Ron's Emo hair in Orange, the Ginnifig! And Bellatrix... and everything... *faints*

FBTB's Flickr has many more pictures from Toy Fair:

Hogwarts

Hogwarts Express

The Burrow

Hagrid's Hut

Quittich Lesson

(No Dobby's Release).

I'm not too excited for these, personally. The train and hut look pretty mediocre to me in design, and the others are pretty expensive. I do really like Hogwarts Castle, though, especially the figures (Filches' torso!). Bellatrix and the new McGonagall are also pretty sweet.

Hagrids Hut looks so cool !

The best of the three of them so far - on the Christmas list for my son this year (he asked for an older one once before).

It appears the giant pot can swing in and out of the fireplace - lots of detail and lots of play options too !

The Express itself is trimmed nicely, but those small wheels again and that car is too cool for school - I love that car the most !!!

I'll have to go back to flickr to check out the rest later on today - I'm a conformist! !!!!

But not as her Movie 6 appearance ;)

As I said, it's the same deal as with the latest Death Star set. The point of the sets is play value, not a stunning and accurate replication of a certain film. Thus, the more Hogwarts Express scenes you can act out with this one set, the better, no matter what the cost in anachronisms. The same can be said of the Hagrid's Hut set, which has both Norbert and Aragog. Really Dobby's Release is the only one that's limited to one possible scene (note that the Burrow set has an action-chimney for the Floo Powder scene from film/book 2).

Of course, the S@H description will probably fail epically at presenting that to the public and instead make it seem like each set's supposed to be one scene. Here's hoping I'm wrong.

Just noticed something about the Hogwarts Castle set. It's a small detail, but it's nice. Looking at one of the close-up shots of Dumbledore's office, there appears to be a copy of Riddle's diary on the floor. Also, the Hogwarts crest piece on the other side of the floor looks like it's meant to be put onto the front of that part of the castle, as there is a spot it could be placed on just above the center window.

Looking at the main tower, the inside of the roof part to it is a little confusing. It looks almost as though something else should be there. Maybe it's supposed to represent the owlery? There does seem to be a couple of owls in the set. Which looking at them, appear to be the redesigned mold to accommodate for the chest and face paint apps.

I'm now mostly over Voldemort wearing green. Looking at what he wears post-GoF, green makes sense. Still, it could have been darker, and the white on the inside of the cape still bothers me. His teeth look slightly odd, but not horrible. I'm just happy I'll be able to have a Voldemort minifigure.

I like the idea behind the new invisibility cloak, I'm just not sure I'll like it when I actually get it. It's one of those things that I'll probably keep with my spare parts, and maybe bring out every once in a while. Though I do have to admit that it's better than the two previous incarnations of it (the cape with the stars and the purple cape). Speaking of which, I've actually got the purple cape from the one PoA set on my Dumbledore figure. Clashes slightly with the blue of his robes, but it doesn't look all that bad overall.

Can't wait to see the official pictures of the new sets. It's always interesting, imo, to see what the set looks on it's own and against a white plane. Allows one to concentrate on just the set.

Edit: Just noticed another really small detail. In the Slytherin common room, there is a copy of the Quibbler on the table, and it's meant to be the issue that Harry gave an interview for, as it says "Harry Potter speaks out at last". That is a really nice nod from the fifth book, and is a nice sign that Lego is paying attention to some things that didn't make the cut for the movies.

I know I just like pointing it out. :P
