10or Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I agree, I don't know if those features are worth the extra money. I would like to see the Shield up close. And all the footage will be eventually released online. I would have loved it it came with exclusive figures! Would have been better. Quote
Oky Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 I would have loved it if it came with exclusive figures! Would have been better. Agreed. Here's to hoping for a "Lego Harry Potter - The Visual Dictionary" with some kind of super awesome exclusive fig! Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I had* the Knight Bus as a present, but I didn't like it that much. If Lego released a new one, maybe in a new Dark Purple color( )**, we could get a better Black Grim, an actual driver, better modularity, and maybe a shrunken head! I'm not saying it's likely to happen, but it'll give us something to think about. *currently part of lost forever my collection. **The purple they have is too bright and has alot of quality problems. (or maybe it's just my love of dark colors...) Quote
Forresto Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 These sets are interesting!I like the qudditch one and the Burrows but the rest are kid've meh-. I was a huge fan of the original ones and i'm really happy they are making new ones. Somehow though, it does'nt really feel the same as the originals. I'm really happy though that I have relatives down near Orlando, so I can go with them to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It's funny because they sent pictures of it under construction that they had to take from ontop of their van Quote
PhantomX Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 When are the Harry Potter sets coming out? Quote

10or Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 (edited) So I saw a PoP LEGO commercial and I hope the Harry Potter sets have advertisements and commercials because it would help them sell better. Also do you think they are gonna release key chains and magnets for the new Harry Potter sets? Edited May 3, 2010 by 10or Quote
Ravenxl7 Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 So I saw a PoP LEGO commercial and I hope the Harry Potter sets have advertisements and commercials because it would help them sell better. Part of me would be surprised if they didn't have at least one commercial for them. Probably with some clips from the movies to help tie the two together. Also do you think they are gonna release key chains and magnets for the new Harry Potter sets? I'd love to see them, and I think it's a possibility, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't make any. There's only been three HP key chains, and no magnet sets. Quote

There's only been three HP key chains, and no magnet sets. Nah, of course there'll be HP key chains/magnets! They made them for Spongebob! So yeah. I'd say we'll at least get something like these: -Harry Potter keychain -Ron Weasley keychain -Hermione Granger keychain -Lord Voldemort keychain (maybe) -Dumbledore keychain -Snape keychain (probably) -Magnet set: Harry, Ron and Hermione -Magnet set: Dumbledore, Snape and McGonagall Quote
MrCustomizer Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I want Luna and Draco in a set cheaper than the Hogwarts Express!!!! Perhaps a Magnet set? ~MC Quote

Forresto Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Too be honest, and i'm not trying to be a troll, but i'm a little dissapointed by these new sets after seeing the final pics. The one I really like is the quidditch set but everything else is just average. They just seem like smaller, more expensive knockoffs of the originals. you can disagree with me and I hope people do so the line sucecceds. I'm just personally not impressed. Quote
lightningtiger Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 Well my son what's Hagrids Hut for Christmas, it looks worthwhile getting but the worst one is the train, no big driving wheels - dam it ! I'm a conformist! ! Quote
ZO6 Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Thanks for the newer pics. Hogwarts is an absolute must have, and personally I think it's the best version of the castle yet. It's made up of far less massive wall pieces than previous incarnations, and instead uses mostly bricky goodness. Assuming the interior is still the same as what we saw during the Toy Fair, then we'll be treated to loads of details and accessories. Some of the other sets aren't too shabby (particularly the Burrow), but they don't present the same wow/must have factor as the Hogwarts set. Quote
not-in-use-anymore Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 I wan't to know why Ron has Mutt hair in Hagrid's Hut instead of the Skater hair. Now I see how you play Quidditch, you launch the balls through the hoops and the 1x1 cones are used to keep score. But there's still Mutt, I thought that was preliminary. Does anyone think Dobby looks similar to another short, but sand green, hermit? Some sets need capes, like Freeing Dobby/Dobby's Release for Harry, while others like HH are ok without. They just seem like smaller, more expensive knockoffs of the originals. Expensive I understand, but why smaller knockoffs? Freeing Dobby/Dobby's release is greatly improved, before all you could do was have Lucius Malfoy read to Dobby. All of the sets have new parts, and have more in them than before. As and example: Would you prefer getting a Hagrid's Hut seperate from Aragog? I'm sure that with more minifigs and parts for them to be good enough for a set it would be more expensive than to get one.(The only good thing I could think of is getting extra parts/minifigs) Quote
10or Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 (edited) LOVE THE PICS! THANK YOU!!!! But Mcgonagal and Snape need CAPES! And the wand color variety isn't that good. But I don't think these are finals because of the Ron figures having different hair styles. And disagree, they are no smaller than previous ones, these have so much more detail than the other sets! Oh and Mcgonagal, Luna, and Molly NEED wands! CAN'T WAIT FOR THEM! Edited May 15, 2010 by 10or Quote
JimBee Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 I have to say, for what we're paying, I could've been a little more impressed by the Hogwarts castle. It seems all of the attention is on the figs, while there's not much on the exterior of the castle itself. Still a must-buy for the parts and figs, but it doesn't feel like it's worth 120 USD. On the other hand, I'm liking the smaller sets more. This whole line is pretty expensive, but these little ones make them worth it. The Dobby's Release will be a good way to get Lucius. Quote

I agree, it looks like bad versions of past sets. They might have rereleased old sets with the new minifigures. It's liek LEGO only cared about making Harry Potter minifigures and not at all about the sets. The Castle is a joke, it doesn't look like a castle on a hill like the older sets did at all, just really weird looknig. The house is neat and new, so that's something. Quote
whung Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Just found in whung's brickshelf folder: These images are found in Amazon.co.jp, you may go there and zoom in the images if interest Quote
The Penguin Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Several quick thoughts: 1) The pics are perhaps not final, since we have a non-printed book, different hair and dementor capes..... I suppose it's the same thing like with the Kingdoms sets. 2) The minifig selection is simply gorgeous, close-up pics allow to see them in full beauty. 3) What's up with Malfoys' faces? 4) The Borrow doesn't look very impressive, unlike Hogwarts. Strange how you opinion may be changed by seeing sets from different angles. 5) It seems the my favourity McGonagall has old Aunt Mary's face. A huge disappointment for me. I use that face myself for my fig of the professor, but still..... 6) Snape really looked better in OotP Hogwarts. However he'll be good for customizing purposes. 7) We should be grateful to TLC for bringing those awesome sets, no matter how we may not be fully satisfied with this or that. Fans can never be pleased. Good day, ladies and gentlemen! ) Quote
squidman85 Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 I want all sets! The best for the price/per piece are Dobby's realise(it reminds me 2001 Harry Potter) and quidditch,i think. Also i very like the burrows and Hagrit's hut,but they are too expensive, for sets with not many pieces. Is there a new hair piece on Malfoy Jr? Quote
Sandy Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 You guys are just being way too picky! These sets are absolutely fantastic and have certainly evolved from the earlier HP sets with all the incredible details, color and piece variety, and of course the superb minifigs (many of which people have been craving for ever since the theme started). So quit your yapping because HP is back! PS. I can't believe some of you are whining about the lack of wands. I have like a bazillion of those wand/lightsaber sticks in a large variety of colors in my stock, and my whole collection still fits one cabinet so it's not large by far. I don't understand why people want absolutely everything to be included in every set, since all LEGO fit together and you can mix'n'match them endlessly. Quote

HP is back we should be cheering and happy not whining. HP has been a theme over these many years which has brought to us many printed parts, exclusive parts, cool minifigures etc. The return of HP will bring the same along with more love for itself(mocs, etc). The wands though do look a tad smaller in some photos but not in others so I don't know about that and well Ron is only in school uniform in one set which is a little disappointing as he is the second main character and they didn't even bother adding him into the castle. FilmGirl27 Posted May 15, 2010 Posted May 15, 2010 Thanks for the new pics! Wow! I love this line! Sure, it's expensive but I'm so glad Lego are bringing Harry Potter back! These sets are fantastic, escpecially the minifigures. Judging by these pictures, this is my verdict so far: Hogwarts: Great minifigs (and lots of them) along with the best version of the castle. I'm sold, I don't care what the price is. The Burrow: Again, great set. I love the minifigs and the building is good. Hogwarts Express: Looks too much like the old one, so I don't need it. Hagrids Hut: Good, kind of. I'll buy it for Hagrid and Ron. Quidditch Practise: I'm not so sure about this now after these pictures. I don't think I want this set anymore. Dobby's release: Nice little set. I'll probably buy it just for Dobby, but I wouldn't mind Lucius either. I am so going to be broke. Quote
