Posted January 4, 201015 yr I recently made a haunted mansion as a Christmas gift. A little off season but what the heck. Sadly I had to pack it up and ship it out Here are a few pics I wanted to share. Its 3 stories built on the 48x48 baseplate. Each floor is removable. Light brick in the fireplace as well as the steeple. Almost perfect snot gravestone Light brick in the fireplace. Comments, criticism, feedback always welcome!
January 4, 201015 yr Awesome! One of the best haunted mansion! I like the color and the boards on windows, it has great effect! Third floor is very nice with that nice roof. It looks scary! Nat the red color at the top really adds somehow! Again, awesome!
January 4, 201015 yr Wow! Incredible work! I love the overall shape and all the little details such as the sofas, fireplace and the grave with the skele rising from it. The gabled roof corners look fab as do using all those gate pieces for fencework I'd like to see a before version too with nice lawns and pearly gates, before this place went to hell in a handbasket
January 4, 201015 yr 'Scooby Doo ! Where are you ?!' :skull: What a great MOC, I too love the hand of death popping out of the grave. The house speaks to me of the Addams Family or better yet The Munsters ! 'Oh, Herman !'
January 4, 201015 yr I saw your avatar early this afternoon and I was wondering what was that structure in it. Now I know! Amazing work! The colours fit perfectly and the size of it makes it look majestic! I love all the small details (the grave stone is great!) and extra points for the fireplace! That was literally the highlight of the MOC! Don't worry, the face above is there because I got a bit scared with your MOC. It did its job!
January 5, 201015 yr This is incredible. It has a lot of great techniques in it especially the gravestone! Brill job
January 5, 201015 yr Very nice Badsneaker. I'm a big fan of all things spooky, but this is a most delightful (yet haunting) Haunted Mansion. I love the overall design of the house, and you've packed it with some very nice details, like that light-up fireplace. I think this should be front-paged. Excellent!
January 5, 201015 yr A lovely MOC indeed. I also posted this on Classic-Town. Despite it being off-season, it is quite delightful and noteworthy. Thanks for sharing this!
January 5, 201015 yr Very nice architecture; and you appear to have worked almost every possible detail in. From the light up fireplace, to the beautiful SNOT work on the headstone, everything looks great. But, I do think that maybe a few more details such as furniture on all three floors would be nice. Maybe some paintings(A plate with tiles on it on on of these.), a dining table and chairs, etc. etc. But regardless of what the inside looks like, the outside is perfect in every aspect. I have a feeling we'll be seeing greta things from you! Edited January 5, 201015 yr by Striker
January 5, 201015 yr Simply awesome dude Just a little more in the interior and it will be even more perfect!
January 5, 201015 yr A truly horrifying creation! Well done on a well designed haunted house. Lots of nice detailing.
January 5, 201015 yr Wow!!! This is hands down the best Haunted Mansion I've seen... hats off Badsneaker! Every single detail there is brilliant - the person who got this as a present (?) must have enjoyed it tremendously (after the initial scare - after all, this IS a spooky MOC )
January 5, 201015 yr Author Thanks for everyone kind comments!! I left the two top floors empty so the new owner could add his own touches. I tried to find a few ghosts for it, but those buggers are PRICEY! I didn't get any pics, but the top steeple has a light brick in it too. You push the top center down and it lights up the inside on the tower. I had a lot of fun building this, the hardest part was laying out the framework and trying to envision in my mind what it should look like. I actually wanted the roof to be black or dark bley but those 75 degree corner pieces are hard to come by. Thanks again for everyones comments! Wow!!! This is hands down the best Haunted Mansion I've seen... hats off Badsneaker! Every single detail there is brilliant - the person who got this as a present (?) must have enjoyed it tremendously (after the initial scare - after all, this IS a spooky MOC ) Thanks Otters! Yeah it was a present, the childs Dad paid for the parts and I built it. Apparently from what I've been told it was the best gift under the tree this year. Wow! Incredible work! I love the overall shape and all the little details such as the sofas, fireplace and the grave with the skele rising from it. The gabled roof corners look fab as do using all those gate pieces for fencework I'd like to see a before version too with nice lawns and pearly gates, before this place went to hell in a handbasket A before version would have been very cool, what a great idea!
January 5, 201015 yr WOW!! Truely a work of art. The outside looks so spooky. This is against everything I believe in for pictures but I think a darker background might even make this more spooky. The fireplace is a great touch. The boarded up windows are my favorite part. Really really good work!
January 5, 201015 yr Really beautiful moc. It reminds me of the bates mansion. What are the pieces you used for the roof? Especially the corners Can I ask how much the dad paid? cheers Stanley KBrick
January 5, 201015 yr Amazing MOC Badsneaker! I really like the colour scheme, the pathways outside and well all of it! Really nice job with this build! CommanderFox

Especially the corners Can I ask how much the dad paid? cheers Stanley KBrick Thanks Stanley- the 75 degree corner pieces came from bricklink. They were about $1 each, so they were pricey but I had to have them, otherwise I don't think it would have come out as well as I was hoping. I'm not at liberty to quote the price of the MOC but lets just way it wasn't cheap! I think I had about $300 just in bricks. Amazing MOC Badsneaker! I really like the colour scheme, the pathways outside and well all of it! Really nice job with this build! CommanderFox Thank you CommanderFox! I was at a loss for a color to break up the dark bley and finally decided on the dark red.
January 6, 201015 yr That is really awesome! Halloween and Christmas are my favorite holidays. I love haunted houses and this one is awesome! I really want the Movie Studio Frankenstein's Laboratory one but it's expensive on eBay now. Anyway, that thing is awesome and I'm sure whoever gets it is going to be very delighted! That thing must cost a ton of money to put together.

I think I spent over $300 just on Bricklink, plus at least $100-200 of parts I had "in stock".
January 6, 201015 yr Fantastic, spooky MOC! I like the fireplace too, but my favorite is the graveyard, which looks pretty busy...
January 29, 201015 yr Wow! A haunted house! Impressive work there. I agree, that a ghost should be included in this one.
June 1, 201113 yr I know I'm rather late in replying to this but I just wanted to say that this is the most amazing Lego creation I have ever seen! It is exactly the kind of haunted mansion I want to build myself! I currently collect Lego Creator houses as I seem to be obsessed with them! I love the architecture of houses and I used to make my own crude creations when I was a kid in the 80's, when all I had was 2 baseplates and a collection of square/rectangle bricks. I've now re-kindled my love of Lego houses in my 30's (currently trying to restrain myself from buying the rather expensive Town House 4954 on ebay) and one day I want to build my own house from scratch but have no idea where to start as I'm not very creative! I keep wishing that Lego would bring out a Creator Haunted House but the chances of that seem unlikely, but your creation is exactly what I would want them to produce. Did you work from a plan, how did you even start to think about this? It boggles my mind the time and creativity that went into this. Could you offer me any advice of how to start building a copy of this, not that I want to tred on your toes or anything but I just have to build one of these! I would be willing to pay you for any instructions of plans that you have? It's just amazing, you are now my Lego hero :-)
