Speaking of which, what were you doing in that picture, Sylvia? It looks like you're knocking on a rock or waving... or somethun'.

Kegel exercises. I may be recently divorced, but it's good to stay limber

Eh, sorry, I meant Samantha. I don't even see you in the picture?

Neither did I. I was wondering what you were babbling about.

Just assume I was somewhere offscreen doing Kegels

Sure. Want some help moving it? This fog is giving me the creeps and I need a distraction.
Thanks Penny. I wonder what surprise will we find beneath the small rock...

*Penny and William move the rock revealing a piece of parchment with writing on it.*

*They also notice that although the faint set of footprints leads to the rock, one doesn't lead away...*

I'll take a look at those odd stone tablets over there by Samantha.

*A closer look at the tablets reveals that there are 4 identically shaped "tablets" that seem lightweight enough to move around.*

I would just love to get a closer look at the buildings, see if there's any markings or symbols? Perhaps start on the pillars?

*There are no marks or symbols on the building or the pillars. In fact, some areas of the building seem remarkably smooth compared to the others.*

I would like to take a closer look at these lovely pillars.

*The pillars are beautifully ornate. It is a shame that, over time, some of the small sculpted parts seem to have eroded away or fallen off...*

I would like to look closer at the entrance archway for any details or clues

*The archway is beautiful and impressive. It's seems a bit more wobbly than one would hope it to be...*

I'd like to see if there is anything of note by the shoreline

*To see the shoreline, you would have to take the bus back to the harbor...*

I wonder if we would be violating any local heritage/ conservation laws if we were to move those portable stones around? I guess we could just put them back where we found them at the end of the tour...

Would it be possible to get an overhead/ sketch view of all these broken stones out the front to see if there is any hidden pattern?

(Would it be possible to put your character avatar in your sig? Thanks.)

My, these tablets are interesting, they must have had some long-forgotten significance we can only dream about now. They are pretty funky, aye?

Looks to me like they probably had some niche somewhere that they belonged in, probably long gone now with all the damage and erosion. Quite sad, that, this place would have been a beauty for sure.

Interesting how smooth some of this building is, considering the erosion to the rest of it. I think I'll take a closer look at those pillars and the smooth-looking surfaces, and run my hands over them to see if it feels natural or has been cleaned/buffed with something. It could be that they had been covered by something for a time. This wall behind the 4 tablets appears remarkably smooth...

*Diesel feels the monument up while his in-laws look on disapprovingly. The smooth surface of the stones next to the pillars seems natural. The area behind the four tablets is almost completely smooth. Unlike the areas next to the pillars, it is not a completely square slab. It seems to be an indentation or niche. The smoothness of the rock is natural here as well.*

Whats on that parchment there? Is that English? Maybe our tour guide can translate?

chapter_02_02.jpg

It looks like 2 of those tablets could fit into the bottom of that indentation there. Is there a matching indentation on the other side of the entrance? Maybe if Dieselt is done groping he can help me arrange them.

Diesel looks up from his private moment with the smooth hunky stones.

Oh yes, you are right! They must have fallen out some time recently since the stone is so smooth in the indentation. I'll help you I guess, but don't you start your feeling again Mr Security. :hmpf_bad: I feel very vulnerable right now, must just be the dark, spooky forest and the mist... :look:

Let's shift these around, I'm sure nobody will mind.

Looks pointedly at William.

A piece of parchment? That's is very interesting.

I will like to take a closer look at the parchment content by handling it with delicate care to ensure that the parchment will not be damaged.

I really wonder why the footprints remain there. Any ideas? It's does not seem to appear right.

*Which way would you like to insert the stones into the niche?*

*The parchment reads:

"He Slivers Lotus Vase."

Underneath that: a small shape is sketched:

Lets put those put two in with the 1x3 holes touching so the slopes line up with the bottom of the niche. Then maybe we can get a look at the upper part of the niche.

I think we'll take the two middle stones in the arrangement Sylvia made and put them in the way they are shown here, so that they create a V shape. Then we'll see what happens.

Oh this is fun, yay for messing around with the ruins.

Glad we agree on how we're putting them in. Otherwise that could have been confusing.

"He Slivers Lotus Vase."

Hmmm... if this is an anagram, the best I can come up with is:

'megablocks Revives Lust'

*eyes Fred Thomas thoughtfully*

True yet probably not pertinent.

Maybe the first letter of each word is a clue rather than the whole words themselves? Anyone have any ideas?

*Diesel and Fred agree and arrange the two stones:

Wouldn't the other two go on top, but facing inwards? Thus creating a void in the middle in the shape of the diagram?

Oh oh, let's put the other two on top no!

Wouldn't the other two go on top, but facing inwards? Thus creating a void in the middle in the shape of the diagram?

Exactly what I was thinking Sylvia, very good work. I'm glad none of us mind moving with the rocks.

Hmm, fascinating stuff. While I ponder on all of this information, I'd like to test out these "state of the art" facilities we've got here.

*Tony goes poop.*

Wouldn't the other two go on top, but facing inwards? Thus creating a void in the middle in the shape of the diagram?

*Sylvia bodily lifts the two remaining tablets into the niche revealing the shape on the parchment in the center. One of the smooth areas next to the pillars drops to the ground revealing a silver sword.*

"What an amazing discovery we've made!" Cries Johnson Willoughby, who then clearly pees his pants a little...

Oh me goodness, let me see that!

Diesel grabs the sword

Well well, this is very interesting, isn't it? Let's take a look at this sword for any unusual markings and signs of age.

I never knew ancient stuff could be so handsome and utterly masculine! Much like me.

"He Slivers Lotus Vase."

I wonder if Sliver is an anagrammatical reference to the 'Silver' sword?

What do others think? Or should we be looking for a mystical lotus and vase?

Diesel grabs the sword

Yes, this strikes me as something you would have a lot of practice at :sadnew::wink:

"He Slivers Lotus Vase." Well, that hardly makes any sense, does it? I propose it is an anagram. Though why someone would leave an anagram written on a piece of paper hidden under a rock with a set of foot prints leading to it but none away from it I have no clue. So, let's say it is an anagram. What does that give us? I never was any good with them...

E E E A I O U - Nice set of vowels.

S S S S L L V V R T H - Hmm, 3 S's and 2 V's... interesting.

Shout verse sill save... nope, no good at anagrams.
