Svelte Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Please refrain from sodomizing the minor. Yes, I must agree with Jack Baxter here - there was nothing on our tour waivers that said sodomizing minors was prohibited
WesternOutlaw Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 When life throws you a bunch of lemons, but then then throws you a piece of chocolate, don't complain that it won't fit with your lemonade, just eat the chocolate Reminds me of a lemon story... (oh, nevermind). Silver Saves the Soul. From what? Who said werewolves? Interesting notion. This place is getting more mysterious by the minute. Is the sword sterling silver?
Hinckley Posted January 11, 2010 Author Posted January 11, 2010 Yes, I must agree with Jack Baxter here - there was nothing on our tour waivers that said sodomizing minors was prohibited *That's hilarious. Game paused for one hour while the game host puts the finishing touches on the entrance chamber and gets the map and tour info to the tour guide... The narration is self-referential.*
Hinckley Posted January 11, 2010 Author Posted January 11, 2010 "This is all very exciting. I'm amazed with the discoveries we've made since we started. However, the eclipse begins at midnight, so we only have a little more than an hour to get through the Guard House, Main Chamber and to the Courtyard. Let's move the tour onto the Guard House." The Guard House
Ricecracker Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 What's that ugly thing? Is it a statue or something, or is it a monster/demon/pieceofpoop/annoyance. If it's the later, I'd like to take the silver sword which saves our souls, and gracefully slice and dice it into tiny pieces, so that we can proceed on with the tour. Then as everyone else looks on in awe, I'd like to blush and say, "All in a day's work." Alternatively, I could just cower in fear as whoever the hell has the sword slices and dices the monster thing into tiny pieces. Whichever would be safer for me.
Shadows Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Oh, nice! Freaky statue with a very creative headpiece. I'd like to take a torch, please, I expect we'll need it later, and while I'm at it, I'd like to try tilting that last one into the same position as the other two. It looks a little out of place, so maybe that means something.
Ricecracker Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Then, after we are through with the monster thingy, I'd like to look into the lampholder on the right which has no lamp, and see if there is anything of note. If there is, I'd like to take it and examine it. Then, I'd like to push up/pull down the remaining three lampholders until something is revealed.

It looks a little out of place, so maybe that means something. *Sheldon tilts the third torch into the down position. A pulley can be heard squeaking behind the wall, but nothing happens...* Then, after we are through with the monster thingy, I'd like to look into the lampholder on the right which has no lamp, and see if there is anything of note. If there is, I'd like to take it and examine it. Then, I'd like to push up/pull down the remaining three lampholders until something is revealed. *Richard calms down a moment to examine the hole where the fourth torch has falled out or been removed. There is a hole where the torch holder used to reside and a perpendicular shaft that meets the open hole. Currently the hole is empty.* *Richard pulls all three torches to the down position. Again, pulleys are heard moving behind the wall, but nothing happens.*
WesternOutlaw Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 That would be the Demon Statue, First Guardian of the Temple, blah, blah, blah... Just be careful people, please. MOTEE Tours can't afford another liability claim. That last one involving the sodomizing of a minor just about wiped us out.
Shadows Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 *Sheldon tilts the third torch into the down position. A pulley can be heard squeaking behind the wall, but nothing happens...* Somewhere in another story, a chandelier has just crushed an unsuspecting player, resulting in a Grim death. *Richard calms down a moment to examine the hole where the fourth torch has falled out or been removed. There is a hole where the torch holder used to reside and a perpendicular shaft that meets the open hole. Currently the hole is empty.* Let's move a torch there and put it in the same position as the others.
Ricecracker Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Does anybody have a flashlight on them? Anyone at all? You over there? You have one, and I can use it? Yeah! I'd like to use said flashlight to examine the shaft where the lampholder was Now that I've calmed down, I'm going to tilt each lampholder thing-a-magig into the opposite position they were in. I'm also going to examine the statue to see if there are any keyholes.

Pulleys are heard moving behind the wall. A click is heard followed by a high pitched ringing sound, like metal hitting stone.* *Examining the demon statue for keyholes, Richard finds none...*
fallentomato Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 *Looks through the archways to the left and right* I have to make sure there are no jaguars sneaking up on us.
Hinckley Posted January 11, 2010 Author Posted January 11, 2010 *Looks through the archways to the left and right* I have to make sure there are no jaguars sneaking up on us. *Fred looks through both archways, only to see "solid" walls. The archways are structural, not doorways.*
iamded Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Oh, wow, this statue is amazing! I sure wouldn't want to run into one of those creatures, eh? Hmm, I think I'll just tap on the "solid" walls through the archways, to see if there's any hollow sounding areas. I'd also like to ask everyone if they're wearing any silver jewellery or the like, and also sheck if I'm wearing any. If you want to be serious about this whole silver saving your soul thing, then we should see if we have any other than the sword.

The stones all appear to be stones, although she still wouldn't call the walls "solid." There are many cracks and more than a bit of erosion.* *It seems that most people have left their jewelery off for the trip. Johnson Willoughby seems to be wearing a silver watch while Penny has a beautiful silver necklace on. It appears to have a locket pendant, with some sort of gem embedded in it...*
Shadows Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Well, until we find a johnson rod or something to stick in that hole, I'd like to examine the statue closely, looking for markings, inscriptions or little switches or levers that might open a hidden compartment.
Dragonator Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 That would be the Demon Statue, First Guardian of the Temple, blah, blah, blah... What sort of a tour guide are you!? Talk about quality information... This is a very interesting room indeed, I'm sure that these torches can be sequenced to unlock something, either in here or in another room. I would like to inspect the statue closely and look for anything unusual, it is a very fascinating object. And I will not be attacking it with my sword thank you Sheldon. I wonder if those crumbly walls have been blocked up at some time and have rooms behind them? Might be worth investigating...

There are some tiny chunks missing, but no markings or inscriptions. There is nothing that looks like a switch or lever although the beast has several appendages: * I wonder if those crumbly walls have been blocked up at some time and have rooms behind them? Might be worth investigating... *How would you like to investigate the walls?* "The Guard House sits in the middle of the main staircase. It would be impossible for an entire room to be behind either wall..."
WhiteFang Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Statue???? I wonder why there is a statue in the middle of the Guard Room... It does not make any sense to me.. Could I examine the statue surroundings, especially the ground to see if there is any signs of physical movement being pushed to the center of the pavement.
Shadows Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 There is nothing that looks like a switch or letter although the beast has several appendages: Maybe some of the other visitors could help me jerk, yank, or otherwise manually manipulate any and all appendages. And the ones on the statue, too.
Peppermint_M Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Maybe it can be turned or shoved around too. Maybe something is under it like the rock out side. I would like to help with the statue
I Scream Clone Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I would like to turn the statue towards the vacant torch hole in the wall. Otherwise we may want to try moving one limb at a time. It seems moving all three existing torches got us somewhere as well.
The Crazy One Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Wow, what a strange statue. I must say. Might I try pushing the torches that seem to be at angles back into place? I do not know if it's been tried before, I have been a bit dosy.
iamded Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 *How would you like to investigate the walls?* <Ahem> Hmm, I think I'll just tap on the "solid" walls through the archways, to see if there's any hollow sounding areas.I'd also like to ask everyone if they're wearing any silver jewellery or the like, and also check if I'm wearing any.
