After looking over my two Mars Mission sets, I thought they both had fairly good designs, but the orange and white just stuck out too much and took away from the look. I desided to rebuild the two ships and rover, changing the colours and making alot of little changes to the designs.

First off, the "MX-11 Astro Fighter". The inside body of this one is basicly the same, but I made the wings larger, added bigger engines and more guns.

The back is pretty plain, but I think it still turned out well.

The "MX-71 Recon Dropship" came with a small rover that clipped into place undernieth the ship, and stays in place well. The original has a fold out drill arm, which I replaced with a fold out chaingun.

When the chaingun is folded all the way back, a tile can be placed over the opening to creat a flat storage area.

Now, for the fiesta resistance, the "MX-71 Recon Dropship". Probably my favorite non-linenced themed set, the Dropship has an overall nice design and some fun features.

An overview of it. When I was building it I was trying to give it an Avatar sort of feel.

It's armed with six missles under the cab, two long range flame throwers attached to the side of the cab, four chain guns on the wings, four warheads on the wings, and two large bombs attached to the back.

The back of the ship. My favorite view, I really like the mix of blue and grey here, and the tubes running from the ship to the two bombs (which replaced the alien holders in the original).

And the figures, from left to right (in order of rank): Gunship pilot, Fighter pilot, Rover driver.

Wow!

Those redesigns are amazing! I agree with you that the the white and orange stuck out like a soar thumb. You aren't going to surprise aliens with that color scheme, even if it is on Mars.

Back to your ships, I think that those are great, they are faithful to the original set, but the new color makes them look much better.

Very nice!

Wow... It should the theme could have been awesome if LEGO didn't use stupid trans orange and lame aliens.

I LOVE the drop ship, very nicely done.

Also Avatar 3D is the most amazing thing I have ever seen in my life. :)

Okay, when I first started reading this topic, I saw the first two ships and I said to myself, those are okay, they look much better then TLC's design because of the colour change and the minor differences, overall not bad, but not great, BUT THEN, I saw the dropship and I fell right out of my chair, That thing looks AMAZING, 110%, superb, I saw the movie avatar and you really accomplished that sort of futuristic military feel with that dropship. Then I looked back on the rest of them and it started to look like a whole lineof futuristic military Bravo. A minor suggestion, If you have any of the Dino Attsack torsos, swap them out for the space torsos tou are currently using because IMO they would look much better and match the colours of these awesome ships.

Awesome MOCs! You HAVE to keep remaking them. I especially like the dropship, and it does look like one of those Avatar dropships.

These are great! the dropship (As said before0 is definently the best but what would really impress me is a redo of the armored drilling unit.

Hello!

These are some great improvements over the original sets! Reagrding the Astro fighter, those wing guns are excellently attached, but I especially like the printed round tiles as engines. :classic: I can't say much about the pick-up sace truck, but I somehow feel that blue technic pin should be replaced by a light or dark grey one. The dropship again looks very nice, and proves that dark bluish grey is an excellent colour for space creations. Well done!

Cheers,

~ Christopher
