Matteo Kenobi Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 This sounds amazing, I'll join as soon as I photograph my jedi. This will be great, bring it on =]
pedro Posted January 7, 2010 Author Posted January 7, 2010 That's the spirit! First post has been updated with play example. The Duel Thread will be posted soon and I'll be ready to adjudicate around 8pm GMT. Initially, I should be able to handle a couple of games at once but as more people feel comfortable with adjudicating the more games can be in play! The dueling thread should be used by players to lay down challenges, accept and for adjudicators to request Duel Sequences and post results. Additional taunting, boasting, etc. can be done in this thread, but keep it (fairly) clean.
KurttKrueger Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 The mention of sand green Jedi has given me an awesome idea for a Barabel or Trandoshan Jedi. Pedro, how many duelists can we enter at one time?
badboytje88 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 When you start, your a youngling right? So you don't have any jedi/sith master power? Right?
ADHO15 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) Pedro, how many duelists can we enter at one time? Why would you need more than one? You can just keep playing with the same one, can't you? When you start, your a youngling right? So you don't have any jedi/sith master power? Right? Right, except pedro, because he made the game. Will there be a leaderboard somewhere, pedro? Edited January 7, 2010 by ADHO15
pedro Posted January 7, 2010 Author Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) Pedro, how many duelists can we enter at one time? As many as you like within reason, just add the character to the Databank. Your progression won't be quite as good unless you keep playing with the same character, nor will your Duel History totals, but there's nothing stopping you from creating 1 or 2 additional characters, especially if you want to try out different abilities. Just don't spam the Databank with 'em. Will there be a leaderboard somewhere, pedro? Good idea! That's something I can do when we get enough people playing. For now keeping track using your Duel History should be a good indication of how you and everyone else is progressing. And to add to ADHO's other comment: yes, I can pimp my characters from the start! But don't worry it's not to murder younglings! Darth Kurss is an example, I'll probably create a Youngling myself... or maybe use Kurss or Darth Corax to challenge players when they're more experienced and someone else can adjudicate. KurttKrueger Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Why would you need more than one? You can just keep playing with the same one, can't you? Simply because I have ideas for other characters that I wouldn't mind trying out
pedro Posted January 7, 2010 Author Posted January 7, 2010 Dueling thread is now open! When ready, challenge someone specific or invite an opponent to face you! Check that the player is online and you have an adjucator ready (at the moment, me ).
-JD- Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) Awesome idea Pedro! If it is not too late, may I join? If so I have some questions: -If you lose a match do you move down a level? -Do we PM you (or the other adjucator) the attack list? Edited January 7, 2010 by Jammiedodger714
pedro Posted January 7, 2010 Author Posted January 7, 2010 Awesome idea Pedro! If it is not too late, may I join?If so I have some questions: -If you lose a match do you move down a level? -Do we PM you (or the other adjucator) the attack list? It's never to late to join in, just post your character in the Character Databank and your ready. To answer your questions: No you never decrease in rank. Yes, you PM your Duel Sequence to the adjudicator (in this case me 'til someone is confident enough to do it). There's some members online now... do I hear a challenge?
sok117 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Awesome sounding game. I've already got my character ready, now I am just working on a back story...
pedro Posted January 7, 2010 Author Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) Quick thanks to ADHO and brickme for playing the 1st jedi duel... and what a close duel it was! Check it out in the Dueling Thread. Don't worry if you don't get a game in immediately - as more people create characters and begin adjudicating, there'll be more and more players to duel! Edited January 7, 2010 by pedro
The Crazy One Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I have my character ready. I have no photo though, and won't for another few weeks. Shall I post him in the character thread anyway, and not participate until the picture is done? Just so I don't forget.
RileyC Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Does the Duel have to be Jedi Vs. Sith when they are younglings? because they usually practice fighting on each other before fighting their nemesis's .
Bounty Hunter Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Dude, I so want to play this! Count me in!
sok117 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) Would we be allowed to post pictures of the duel if we have the parts to make both characters within our duel topic? p.s. if you could please tell me how to change my picture that appears on my posts, the one to the far left corner, Ive done it before but now I've forgot, if you can help then thanks. Shouldn't we have a separate thread for the duels, It might help organize it a bit rather then having the duels and challenges on the same page. Edited January 7, 2010 by sok117
JimBee Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 One more question. Does a character's health stay at five after every duel, or is it the same as at the end of the last duel? Does anyone gain a health point after a rank up?

Shall I post him in the character thread anyway, and not participate until the picture is done? Just so I don't forget. Why don't you create your character and use your sigfig 'til you build you Jedi/Sith minifig? Does the Duel have to be Jedi Vs. Sith when they are younglings? because they usually practice fighting on each other before fighting their nemesis's . It's a free for all. Jedi vs. Jedi is considered training or a grudge match. Jedi v. Sith and Sith vs. Sith, well... Would we be allowed to post pictures of the duel if we have the parts to make both characters within our duel topic?p.s. if you could please tell me how to change my picture that appears on my posts, the one to the far left corner, Ive done it before but now I've forgot, if you can help then thanks. Shouldn't we have a separate thread for the duels, It might help organize it a bit rather then having the duels and challenges on the same page. In order: If you desire! My Controls > Edit Avatar Settings Maybe, seems okay at the moment - we'll see how things go. One more question. Does a character's health stay at five after every duel, or is it the same as at the end of the last duel? Does anyone gain a health point after a rank up? Aye, starts at 5 every duel. No one gains health after a duel, that way a Youngling still has a (slim) chance even against a Master or Dark Lord. Only exception to this is the Endurance Mastery ability.
sok117 Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 will wining one duel increase your rank, That might make the ranking go to quick don't you think? maybe there should be a larger set rank for each level to keep things from going to fast. Just a suggestion though.

Just a suggestion though. Thats a really good idea sok. I have a question of my own now. Does you have to certified to adjudicate or can you just adjudicate a duel if you think you know the rules well?
JimBee Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Whew, good game, Fangy. I got really lucky with that one. I guess that's what it is, though, a game of luck and a little strategy.
Dannylonglegs Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 If I made a charactor, could he be a bounty hunter who was trained in the Jedi ways I didn't realy see a rule against that, as it's basicly just background info. I really like the sound of this, I must allert my brother, who is a VERY avid SW fan ~Insectoid Aristocrat
WhiteFang Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 I will like to said thanks to Pedro and the players whom I have interacted so far in this game. Let's try and make this game a better experience for all of us by making it smooth and sweet for us to enjoy. Personally, I hope to see this game as one of our EB Games Interactions apart from our current Mafia and Mystery games. Lastly, a reminder to all, we all can enjoy and play games together, but please behave in a mature manner and not like a spolit brat or what. Not meant to be rude to anyone, but I don't want a good game like this to transform into a whining game. It's just a warning precaution to all of you. WhiteFang

Just a suggestion though. I wanted characters to progress at a reasonably quick rate so players could enjoy the fruits reaching the levels of Warrior, Master, etc. There's many more duels to be had once your Jedi/Sith has reached the highest rank. Not only that but you can improve your character by expanding thier Bio and Duel History too. When you've played the same character for a while why not try a new character and use different abilities to see how they fare? Asides from all that, expanded progression is definately something I've been considering for future versions of the game. I have a question of my own now. Does you have to certified to adjudicate or can you just adjudicate a duel if you think you know the rules well? As long as they have a good grasp of the rules (it helps to have played at least once) anyone can Adjudicate. Just offer when challenges are laid down! I really like the sound of this, I must allert my brother, who is a VERY avid SW fan ~Insectoid Aristocrat That's fine of course - your character must still be ranked like a Sith though, from Youngling onwards, as this lets players see your rank at a glance. Look's like everyone has been having great fun, let's keep it that way! Don't be disheartened if you lose, you'll always have more chances to play and you'll get there evetually.
The Crazy One Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 You see, the thing is, I don't have a camera here, or my sig fig but anyway, my bio is done and dusted, and I probabley wont have much time to play for a while either sadly. But give me 2 weeks, I'll be back full time.
