Sandy Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 I would love to see stand alone Dragon kits, or better still dragon vs knight (St. George anyone??) kits. Well, the Creator theme has this set: Fiery Legend And the new collectable minifigs include a Robin Hood -type figure as well. Quote
fred67 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Well, the Creator theme has this set: Fiery LegendAnd the new collectable minifigs include a Robin Hood -type figure as well. I was fortunate enough to pick up one of these Mythical Creatures. These are like the grand-daddies of the dragons in the fantasy sets. Brickset seems awfully slow, so I'm throwing in the bricklink catalog entry, too. Quote
Stiel Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 In 2000, the Knight's Kingdom line had four small sets of the same size (set numbers 4816-4819), each containing a different chrome minifig accessory, making them nicely collectable (and the actual sets were also good on their own). Now I don't really care for the special parts that much, but I like the idea of a small mini-series as part of a bigger theme. My idea: each faction could get a set that consists of a structure and 2 minifigures, similar in size to 6040 or 6041, with the building based on a 6x16 plate and being specific to that faction, e.g. forestmen could get a tree with a bush, dwarves something rocky, skeletons a bone hall, knight factions could get proper military buildings (small tower, fortified wall section) etc. What do you think? Minifig Lecturer Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Personally I would like to see a trebuchet! Something similar to this ... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...e/Trebuchet.jpg Quote
lightningtiger Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Personally I would like to see a trebuchet! Something similar to this ... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/comm...e/Trebuchet.jpg Yes, a trebuchet would be AWESOME, but maybe Lego are worried what it would launch other than Lego or worse ! Insurance/legal headache for Lego, because kids will be kids, even the really big ones.........right ? Here's another set idea, a farmer with ox pulling a plow - good idea or not (don't forget to rotate your crops)? I'm a conformist! ! Quote
Artifex Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 The Guarded Inn is an unanimity among fans. So is the Medieval Village Market. Although the first one is not necessarily a civilian building, the second Blacksmith Shop most probably is. So, do you want more civilian buildings in the new Castle/Kingdom line? And what would you suggest? I most definitely do! Maybe a new, updated Guarded Inn, but also a Wine Cellar/Bakery (like the Medieval Village Market double buildings), a Hunter's Lodge (maybe starting a new forestmen spin off) and, why not, the City Dungeon (with secret passages, a burgomaster, a judge and things like that)? hawkyboy4 Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 That would be a brilliant idea! It's clear that Kingdoms needs more to make it successful, and a civilian side would make it highly popular. Quote
xilefsson Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Who doesn't want more civilian buildings We all have seen so many castles and towers, no it's definitely time for more civilian life. Your building examples are good, but i think a wine cellar isn't that realistic. How would they build a cellar in an regular set? Quote

Yeah, you are right - I wanted to say "a place where to store large barrels of wine" and that's what came out... My mistake, sorry! Quote
Sir Dillon Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Since a large portion of our members want to see more civilian-based sets, this topic will end up overlapping with the Ideas for future castle sets thread. I will merge that thread with this one later. Yeah, you are right - I wanted to say "a place where to store large barrels of wine" and that's what came out... My mistake, sorry! A storage building doesn't sound too exciting. Perhaps something more along the lines of a brewery would make a better set? Quote
Sirens-of-Titan Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 Well these have to appeal to kids too, so I don't think they will ever make a brewery or a wine cellar, simply because of the whole alcohol issue. What I do want to see is a peasant type farm and cottage sets, and of course, maybe a windmill or a granary (I don't see why not keeping in mind that there is a whole sub-theme of Lego Town which is all about farming. I would also like to see more sets that give the feeling that each one is a quest or a story; not just a a random group of knights battling it out but more like a set that contains a catacomb, called the haunted layer, or a set that has a special sword or item that presents a clear goal for the minifigures involved the way the Indiana Jones and adventures sets did back in the day. As far as different civilian structures go; we could always see some more of those Tudor buildings from the market set, maybe a dock or a stables (we are yet to see either in a civillian set) I know it won't happen but some type of church or monastery would be amazing (or a temple of some sort) Quote

That's EXACTLY what I wanted to say and couldn't find the word for it! A Tudor-style pier, stables or granary would be great, too. Quote
Artifex Posted June 6, 2010 Posted June 6, 2010 I started another thread based on the same overall idea (future sets for the Castle/Kingdom line), but exclusive to civilian buidings because i hadn't seen this thread here. Apologies. As I said in that other thread, I would like to see something as a Hunter's Lodge (with a new Forestmen line/sets spin off). Some sort of dock, pier or bay fortress would be awesome too.
