Looks good. Is the head really 1kg. THat must mean it's huge! :oh:

20 studs wide at the back, i just hope the legs will take the weight!

Hi folks!

Cavegod, luck on this difficult task. It will take a long time, believe me!

If you want inspiration for the inside area of an AT-AT minifig scale, you can check mine.

Anyway, I like the exterior design of the cockpit, it is very realistic.

Greetings!

I would make the back really heavy to counter balance the weight of the head.

If you plan to make the AT AT stable you will have to lower the weight in the head, by making it with plates instead of bricks, and put double joints in hips and knees. And add a lot of weight in the rear, has Prateek has said.

And if you plan to make the legs poseable -so you can make your AT AT step Luke´s snowspeeder, for example-, use double joints on hips and knees. If not, the AT AT will be very unstable and you won´t like to have your AT AT downed as in Ep V when Wedge Antilles uses his harpoon to tie the AT AT´S legs...That happened to me and it is not a funny moment!

Luck!!!

Well i have the feet, legs complete and have started on the drive motors, it is currently stood on its own with 30lbs of books sat on top of it to see how it copes so far so good!!!

Luke crawls out of his Snowspeeder just as it is crushed by an AT-AT. He looks up.

"Holy crud," is all that penetrates the silence.

This is gonna be huge.

While rocko's ATAT is impressive especially as i now have 1/4 of it it lacks one thing, a movable head, while up and down will be impractical left and right should be feasable, so does anybody have any ideas of how to achueve this let me know as i am struggling for a solution :cry_sad:

Let me send you some pics of my AT AT tomorrow and see if that works for your MOC.

Also could i have some identifying a part its on the neck 1 on top and 2 on bottom looks like a ball socket but isn't.

Hi again.

your way works but not for my atat its head is to heavy.

i've come up with a design that will allow the head to move side to side as in the film with the neck bending as it would, the secret to this is 40 x 1x5 thin technic lift arms, these form a chain as such with each link holding 1 neck ring, the result is a neck that will bend lick a mc donalds straw. when the parts arrive i will see if it holds the weight, it should do due to the fact that there are no week links in the system. the neck will then clip into place with tech pins towards the rear of the body to balance the weight and also make the head removable for transport to displays, model shows etc.

also by my calculations an at-at is about 100ft tall, which would make it minifig scale!

just a few dodgy pics fro now to show progress.

so as you can see it's big!

it also seems to be holding the weight very well and is surprisingly stable for its size, as for peice count i'd say it's getting close to UCS MF numbers!

Wow its so big! The detail is incredible and the shape is spot on. I cant wait to see it finished!

Its so beautiful :cry_happy: everything looks really spot, on the body shape is perfect and the thickness of the legs are great, has that real towering feeling that it will stomp on everything in its way. This is a fantastic project and i'm really enjoying seeing your progress, good luck with the rest and can't wait to see it completed

Amazing

You're almost finished already?! The size of it, huge and so detailed.

I cant wait for it to be finalized and shown off with lots of pictures. Make sure they're good quality, so this can be frontpaged. This definitly deserves it.

We can only hope that TLC's version to come out this year will be remotely like this one!

Great progress! It might be tricky to attach the head though, so good luck :classic::thumbup:

Nice pics!

Your AT AT looks very nice, bigger than mine -58 cms in height- but also heavier. The detail is good, as you used bricks, but, how much does it weigh? I think it won´t be less than 5 kg unloaded -I say, no minifigs, no speeder bikes, no weapons-.

I wan´t to see it finished soon!
