Ratbat Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 (edited) Anyone else ever see these? http://www.diamondselecttoys.com/ Just click products, and then click on the minimates icon. I have two Ghostbusters minimates, Peter and Winston, and they are great! They are basically minifigures with more articulation, but they know it. The even have holes on their feet to connect to studs! Edited January 9, 2010 by Ratbat Quote
The Who Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Can you take a picture of one of them standing next to a regular minifig? I've never heard of them, and peronally they don't really look too amazing, but I'd like to see some comparing before I make any further judgements. Quote
VBBN Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I have always wanted Minimates. They have amazing detail, like how there are clear torsos for ones with ribs and such. Though from the reviews I have seen, it's wise to move the arms slowly and loosen them or they will break easily. Quote
Forresto Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I always really wanted to get the Star Trek ones! I actually have some lord of the ring ones I got on sale once which are kind've strange. Quote
Ratbat Posted January 9, 2010 Author Posted January 9, 2010 As shown, they do have some accessories, such as the proton streams and Peter's communicator. The hair can also be removed. I've never had any problems with moving their joints. The have neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, knees, and feet joints. Quote
The Who Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Those actually look pretty neat up close. Quote
Luke McAwesome Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I remember these! I have two Spider-Man ones! A Green Goblin and half-Peter Parker-half-Spidey. I got them years ago... I still have them, too. But mine don't have holes in their feet. Quote
Dunjohn Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Yeah, I've seen these in Forbidden Planet, but to be honest, I think they look awful. I've never been interested in getting them. Nice to hear they work with Lego, but still, no thanks! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 For a while they were combined with some stud-based construction bricks. I have a Batman set but I cannot find any others. As for the figures, I do not collect as I prefer large scale action figures. Quote
user Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Hey did any of you know that their heads can fit on regular minifigs? They look kind of silly though. Quote
escortmad79 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 They look awful!! They look like they were designed by a 4 year old using an etchasketch!! Quote
prateek Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Cool. I've seen these before, but I had no idea that they have holes in their feet. I probably won't get any, but they are pretty col for sure. I like Stikfas better. Quote
Big Cam Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Wow, the quality is kind of amazing, too bad they don't do SW ones. Quote
vexorian Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) Too tall. No neck. Less space than a nomad. Lame. Edited January 11, 2010 by vexorian Quote
Ratbat Posted January 17, 2010 Author Posted January 17, 2010 Just got Egon. He's cool. Nice that I now have a PKE Meter. Now I just have to get Ray (and hopefully Stay Puft). Quote
Legoman Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 No, simply no. Those... things are ugly as - IMO Quote
RileyC Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 No, simply no. Those... things are ugly as - IMO I couldnt agree more Quote
YG-49 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 They even have their own Hannibal Lecter box set, complete with Buffalo Bill! Quote
captainsamus Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 (edited) I have the main Ghostbusters characters, they're great. I'm not sure why anyone thinks these are horrible. They're more akin to mini-action figures than they are Lego minifigs Edited January 21, 2010 by captainsamus Quote
Wout Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Not my cup of tea, but they are quite nice. A friend of mine, who is totally fan of KISS has all four bandmembers. Quote
larry marak Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 For a while they were combined with some stud-based construction bricks. I have a Batman set but I cannot find any others. As for the figures, I do not collect as I prefer large scale action figures. They had the brick license for DC as well as the minifig license for everyone in the universe. The C3 line did about 20 brick sets before Lego secured the Batman license and Minimates lost their brick license. Minimates is still the only way to get minifigs for all your favorite tv shows, movies, and comics. Very fragile though. Quote
