I moved to a new place a couple months ago, and was finally able to bring my collection along with me. It was at my parents place for the last 2 years because of lack of space. So what better way to celebrate than to build a new MOC!

It's a 6 wide Pickup Truck, something that has been missing from the lego line, really.

I decided to make a back box for it as well. I think it turned out great in the scale.

It looks perfect towing my car trailer MOC I made a while ago!

This is a really cool truck! I like the higher body I also like the back box and trailer too.

I would love to see a pickup with a trailer and maybe an ATV for ~$20. Great idea!

I think you can improve it by shortening the wheelbase, by pushing the rear wheels to the center a stud or two.

But it definitely needs to reduce wheelbase by moving back axle toward the front.

I'm not completely convinced by the pickup truck. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it looks a bit oddly proportioned. Perhaps it is the wheelbase, as whoootles mentions. The slopes on the bottom look weird. I know LEGO themselves do it on their 4WD, but I don't like it there either. It would look better if it were simply on the bottom, perhaps with two one-stud wide plates running underneath it to represent the chassis. I do like the level of detail, such as the tool box in the truck bed and I love the car trailer.

Nice little truck. The tool box is a great idea. The wheel arches seem a bit high for a body that is that close to the ground.

Fantastic truck. I love the box in the back and the trailer is a really nice touch.

Now to figure out how to get a gun rack in the back window...

I believe he's captured the look very well. It resembles a long bed American Pickup truck with the rear wheels being placed back rather than the center of the bed. Very nice!

The 4wd is awkward. I do have the set and I did build the model, but it looks like a toy. That is not a problem as such, it is a toy after all, but I prefer to see a little more realism and I would never use its construction as the starting point for a MOC.

I've taken another look at this pickup truck, because it bugs me that I couldn't pin down what I think is a bit weird about it apart from the slopes on the bottom. and I think there are two things that bother me about it. I already mentioned the slopes on the bottom. Dr spock did the rest. Those mudguards sit far too high on the body for a vehicle with relatively low ground clearance. It's like a guy wearing trousers that are too short so that you can see his socks poking out between the bottom of his trousers and the top of his shoes. I'm not trying to be very harsh here, because I like the idea and there's nothing terribly wrong here, but there's something a little off and I think all it needs are few more tweaks to make it really good .

Apart from that, what would help IMO is if the taillights weren't mounted in the aft bumper, but simply on either side of the tailgate. I can't think of any pickup truck that doesn't have them there. If you were to move the mudguards down a bit, it would also create the opportunity to use a half-stud offset to have the rear bumper stick out a bit. It's something I've done a few times and I think it looks nice. Unfortunately I can find few pictures that show it clearly.

The trailer is fantastic though

Nice pickup. However, I tend to agree with the other comments given here. I hope you'll fiddle around a little with it and post a second version sometime. That car trailer is really nice too.

Awesome work here! I love how there are almost zero studs left to work with, if not any at all.

I decided to go back to the drawing board and re-do this truck. I did not like the back and I agree that there was too much space between the wheel-well and wheels.

I like the smooth front and the details in the back. The trailer is neat too!

I think it looks better this way, for sure.

I do feel, however, that windshield is too high compared to the rest of the chassis, I mean, I would raise the body of the truck by one or two plate. Not the windshield and roof, just body.

legomaniac83, kudos to you my man. The new version looks a so much nicer and much more like a real pickup truck. I like it much more with the flat bottom and I am really happy you took my advice about the tail lights to heart. The running boards are a nice addition too. I think you've taken it to the next level with these modifications. Really neat
