Posted December 17, 200717 yr What is a paid subscription? what does it get you? how much is it? my subscription page won't let me view anything at all :'-(
December 17, 200717 yr Author There is something where you pay...go to edit your profile, then go to the options to the left and walla! Puchase paid subscriptions!
December 17, 200717 yr You have to pay for those? I just thought they were to track topics! *wacko* I use it all the time! Edit: Go to the top of this page. See the button that says "Options?" Click it Subscribe to this forum. Yay. Edited December 17, 200717 yr by ~VBBN~
December 17, 200717 yr There are two subscription types on the boards. One is a board feature that we don't use paid subscriptions. There are no paid subscriptions on EB. The other type is subscribing to a topic or forum and you'll get an e-mail notification when there is a new post there. Welcome to EB Imperial13. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like, but make sure to post them in the Website Forum, not in the General LEGO discussion forum. Thank you. Also, you may post further questions in this thread instead of starting a new one each time you have a question, all right? Great. Thanks again and have fun. :-)
December 17, 200717 yr There is an option to purchase paid subscriptions in your profile (that's just how the forum software is, I guess), but currently EB isn't offering anything like this. ;-) And no, Mr. VBBN, paid subscriptions and subscribing/tracking topics is not the same.. Edit: Gah, I cross-posted with Hinkie. :-P Edited December 17, 200717 yr by UniqueBuilder
December 17, 200717 yr One is a board feature that we don't use-piad subscriptions. There are no paid subscriptions on EB. You think. Just wait until you get your invoice by the end of the year. Or did you think staff membership is for free?

August 24, 200915 yr I apologize in advance for bumping such an old thread but I did the right thing and searched. I had the exact same question, which got answered above but I have a follow up question. Is a paid subscription of any sort in the works, a thought, an ugly idea in White Fang's closet of armor? I'm just curious, and if not is there a way for us to donate to the site? Thanks for the consideration that comes with answering a post in a 2 year od thread.
August 24, 200915 yr Eurobricks Emperor Is a paid subscription of any sort in the works, a thought, an ugly idea in White Fang's closet of armor? I'm just curious, and if not is there a way for us to donate to the site? Eurobricks will not have any paid subscriptions, now or in the future. Some good things are still free
August 24, 200915 yr Eurobricks will not have any paid subscriptions, now or in the future. Some good things are still free fair enough, thatnks for the quick response.
August 24, 200915 yr Eurobricks will not have any paid subscriptions, now or in the future. Some good things are still free Just curious: who is paying for the hosting or do the small ads cover that (or is that not publicly disclosed, which I would understand too)? But the main contribution to Eurobricks of course comes from a committed staff.
August 24, 200915 yr Eurobricks Emperor Just curious: who is paying for the hosting or do the small ads cover that (or is that not publicly disclosed, which I would understand too)? We are funded by the Sicilian mafia, some African governments and a Columbian drug cartel. I really can't give more details
August 24, 200915 yr We are funded by the Sicilian mafia, some African governments and a Columbian drug cartel. I really can't give more details I... uh.. think, maybe I should log-off now... And you're not funded by terrorists?
August 24, 200915 yr And you're not funded by terrorists? Dude, it would be quicker to say who Eurobricks isn't funded by.
August 25, 200915 yr We are funded by the Sicilian mafia, some African governments and a Columbian drug cartel. I really can't give more details Nice global representation in the sponsors as well then... Wait a minute... that explains the weird posts by some people, it's all code language...
January 10, 201015 yr Okay so I was bored and looking through the User Controls and saw a link that said subscripitions. All I got was a blank list and something that said checkout. I clicked check out and got an error. My question is Why are there no subscriptions and what are they in the first place? brickme
January 11, 201015 yr It's a board feature that we don't use. It allows us to charge for premium services. If you really want to use it send me some money and I'll try to give you something of value in return. (It may or may not be premium.) If not, just ignore it. We have no plans to charge for anything on EB in the short term.
January 11, 201015 yr Oh I thought we would all have to pay to be on eurobricks or something. To be honest I wouldn't want to know what the staff would do with that money.
January 11, 201015 yr To be honest I wouldn't want to know what the staff would do with that money. This probably isn't the answer you want or expect, but it'd go on hosting. EB these days has to run on un-shared server which can get rather expensive...
January 11, 201015 yr This probably isn't the answer you want or expect, but it'd go on hosting. EB these days has to run on un-shared server which can get rather expensive... Tell me about it! And to get an actually decent quality provider costs a lot too. Does EB pay for itself yet?
January 11, 201015 yr Eurobricks Emperor Does EB pay for itself yet? We don't like to talk about money when we can talk about something as beautiful as LEGO.
January 11, 201015 yr I remember asking in a different thread earlier about thius becasue I was interested in something like a premium membership to help support the site. I got around the same answer.
