In the first 2010 catalog, Agents are out. I think that if there was going to be new sets from the second half of the year, they wouldn't have removed older set from the catalog yet. It looks to me like the whole theme is over.

Nothing in the catalog unfortunately.

I also heard nothing (so far) about the theme, it is quiet.

Too bad 'cause I like the theme.

Did I miss a posting, or is there nothing about new Agent sets for 2010?

Sorry theres probally no new 2010 agent sets. From what i heard world racers was the theme that is supposed to replace agents.

It's as though thousands of agents screamed out across the galaxy, then suddenly they were silenced. A great disturbance in the force, there is. :yoda:

Oh well, I think World Racers looks promising.

I'm actually not too sad that agents disappear in 2010, since i kinda expected that. I don't think any of these themes (aqua raiders, power miners, agents and so on) will have a real long life like major themes as castle, city and so on. TLG seem to have set their plans that themes like these are only for short time periods, to be replaced by a new theme after a few years.

Yes, it's no surprise, and even the recent S@H sale clearanced the Agents 2.0 sets that had barely been out for 6 months.

I too think the agents line is gone like Svelte said because lego is putting on a sale on them. Legoshop usually only put sales on items they discontinued. Other lines are like the recent indiana jones but they are gonna keep it for a little longer as it only been less than 6 months.

They probably won't make an Agents 3.0. IMO World Racers is better anyways.

That's too bad. I think they had something going there. Just that it got off slow. Command Center, the Helicopter was cool. But they made many small ones that was just average.
Yeah, I don't think that another wave of Agents sets would do the theme justice.

The first wave was beyond amazing with awesome sets (most notably Mobile Command Center and Volcano Base), but the second wave just didn't seem that good when compared to Agents 1.0. The $10 set was extremely small, the $20 was also pretty small, but Robo Attack and the helicopter set were too cool.

So my thoughts are if LEGO makes a third wave of sets, they probably will not turn out well, as the theme had gotten a bit worse last year when compared to 2008 (I feel the same way about themes like Power Miners).

I have inside info and sadly no Agents for 2010...but maybe there may be a return for 2010 :cry_sad:

Do you mean a return in 2011?

Agents WILL come back eventually, possibly not in the same flavor, but the "Secret Agent" theme has been a theme that Lego has been doing for some time. Remember Alpha Team, then Alpha Team: Mission Deep Freeze, and then Alhpa Team: Mission Deep Sea? The agents even had some of the same names as the Agents and Agents 2.0 sets. (Just like Atlantis is a continuation of the Many Aquazone/Aquaraiders sets).

I do like the more James-Bond-Austin-Powers tounge in cheek of the newer Agents sets.

I think it would be AWSOME to have some more sets, but for now I have to just enjoy the ones I have. I will say that among my kids, the Agents sets get more time than the Lego Star Wars, which is probably not typical. They are certainly well loved.

You've got your Alpha Team out of order. Mission Deep Sea was the second installment, followed by Deep Freeze.

One of the great things about Agents was its versatility. I can't think of a single set with quite as much functionality as the Agents truck, with those bazillion tiny vehicles stowed away and various other hidden secrets. Certainly a lot better than Alpha Team, which basically boasted one-gimmick-per-set (besides the Deep Freeze stuff, which could usually transform in addition to any other gimmicks). Certainly I'd like to see an Agents-like theme in the future, although I fear a third Agents installment would be hard to pull off while keeping in line with the original theme (but then, Adventurers got away with it even after a huge hiatus).

I've got to say it's going to be sad not seeing any Agents sets this year. The 2008 line was fantastic, and what got me to try LEGO sets other than Castle or Star Wars (the Mobile Command Center is in my top 5 LEGO sets). I thought the 2009 line was pretty hit (copter & robot) and miss (the rest), but I still enjoyed all of the sets. I look forward to seeing what LEGO comes up with next to continue the super-spy themes.

Agents was probably my favorite new theme in a long time, and one of my all time favorite themes. But, I'm not sad to see the theme end. I'm more sad that the story won't continue through various medias rather than there not being any more sets. I bought almost every set (I only never got 2008's Deep Sea Quest and haven't yet gotten Robo Attack and Aerial Defense Unit), and most of them I got just for the mini figs and accessories, and maybe one vehicle (as most of them contained more than one vehicle) and I'd sell the rest of the set.

I loved the theme, story and characters, but I really don't need that many different vehicles for them. That's why I'm not so disappointed that there's no further sets coming, I really wouldn't care for more vehicles. More characters could be cool, but there's enough characters already anyway. So, I'm just gonna enjoy what I've got, and until a better action theme comes along, Agents'll stay my favorite.
