def Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 After seeing the movie, I know exactly how you feel. It has a sort of retro-futuristic vibe. Actually I had no idea that Daft Punk did the soundtrack, makes sense now though as there were two characters who looked exactly like the Daft Punk robot DJ things. Loved the music and the movie. That was Daft Punk! They did a cameo in the flick. I need to see that, this Wednesday probably (Men's day at the cinema here). Quote
Sisco Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 I just saw Tron, and I loved the soundtrack! Daft Punk really outdid themselves in that. Quote
JimBee Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 BUT I also went looking through my music and stumbled upon , a nice lil' song from the 90's. Also, some Breaking Benjamin, and . And some Counting Crows. Yep, I'm sticking' to the start of the alphabet here. I love all of those bands. To me, the 90s is where the best music happened. My personal favorite Counting Crows song is "Mr. Jones". That was Daft Punk! They did a cameo in the flick. I need to see that, this Wednesday probably (Men's day at the cinema here). oh, I see. Cool bit of info that I didn't know. And yes, you need to see it. Quote
Once In A Lifetime Posted December 28, 2010 Posted December 28, 2010 I listen to rather odd music, I do not know many people who listen to Power Metal. These are currently one favorite from my two favorite bands. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RKepSIn8tc Quote
Enpaz Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Secret Agent Man - Johnny Rivers YAY! I love it. There's a man who leads a life of danger... to everyone he meets he stays a stranger... with every move he makes, another chance he takes... odds are he won't live to see tomorrow... ♪♫♪♫ JimButcher, that Dexter thing is pretty good! Haven't heard it before. Who knows Outasight? Now they are really not famous. "Good evening" should give you a sample of their music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAiRToLeN08 Quote
Sisco Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Blow Me Away- Breaking Benjamin. One of my favorites. I couldn't sleep, so I thought I'd jam to one of my standbys. Quote
def Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 oh, I see. Cool bit of info that I didn't know. And yes, you need to see it. I went to see it yesterday and the only theater in town had it only dubbed in Japanese. My Japanese is okay, but it would have spoiled the experience. Maybe I'll get to see the subtitled version on the big screen before the end of my holiday. Quote

iamded Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I love all of those bands. To me, the 90s is where the best music happened. My personal favorite Counting Crows song is "Mr. Jones Yeah. Coincidentally the only Counting Crows songs I have are Mr Jones and Big Yellow Taxi. Now since everyone was going on about Daft Punk, what with Tron and everything, I decided to give it a listen. After youtubing Daft Punk I immediately went, "Oh, thooose guys" and started listening. I never really liked techno stuff, and still don't really, but damn, Daft Punk are awesome! Whether it's just nostalgia or just something different to what I'm used to listening to, I can't stop listening to Daft Punk. So cool. Quote

Jargo Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I've been giving Asian Dub Foundation a lot of ear time lately. I'm a big fan of global/ethnic fusion music. Never really been into guitar bands or any of the more common genres. However, instruments from different cultures/parts of the world played in a way that blends with western musical phrasing is ear candy to me. I only discovered ADF recently. I listen to www.somafm.com groove salad channel a lot of the time and pick up on artists new to me, which is how I stumbled across them. so far they haven't released much but Monsoon malabar off the 3 cities album never fails to cheer me up. It's probably not the best track on the album, Egypt by air would probably fit more peoples idea of a decent chillout choon, but I likes what I likes. Quote
Captain Becker Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Watch it all! I love the trance but the best part is the stop motion. Loved that Eifel 65 Im Blue Bluecoats favorite song Captain Becker Quote

Sisco Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 Derezzed- Daft Punk. I'm not really a Techno fan, but Tron Legacy's soundtrack really turned me around. Daft Punk really did a great job on it! Quote

The Crazy One Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Suddenly found myself getting in Avenged Sevenfold. My current favourite songs are Dear God, Unholy Confessions, Critical Acclaim and Nightmare. I actually find this band has kept me interested throughout all their albums, which is quite rare with me.
