I might get it. But $30 is bullsh*t.

Hey don't complain. The Swedish price on this is set is actually $70 USD!! (according to xe.com)

We'll actually get it way cheaper by ordering it from the US even if customs slaps a 25% VAT on it... And that is just plain ridiculous!

I like the set though. But I'm just not gonna buy it. If I feel like building it I'll rather order the pieces of bricklink...

What do we vote for?

The set or the review?

For me the review is outstanding, but the set is (due to the price) below average :hmpf_bad: .

But being a townie I don't really care.

Always the set.

Comments on the review itself are welcome as are comments on the set.

But in the polls, we always rate the set.

Thanks for the good review

This set intrests me. I have the original, and love it. It is overpriced, We can all admit that, but sales are always around if you have a good eye and a bit of patience :classic:

I'll try pick one up, Mainly for the Fig/s. Then compare them next to each other to decide which looks better in my kashyyyk scene (only have room for one  )

Look forward to getting it :sweet:

Thanks for the great review

I agree with legoman, the set is great. The design of the swamp speeder is very accurate! And of course Barriss

Also something I only noticed thanks to this review and that is the new clone design! This is a plus too.

So this set is actually an above average.

No comment on the price, KimT

I think the most disappointing thing about this set, (besides the price), is the fact that the SBD has two normal arms. I was really hoping that Lego would continue with the "rocket arms" that they used in the CW ATT.

Good question, this one is on my mind too. When the AAT containing the SBD with rocket arms came out, I thought it would be the new standard. But since then no sets appeared with SBD's and they seem to grasp back the old design in the new sets. Why?

I'm under the impression that that's because rocket arms are CW, where as this set is PT :sceptic:

Thanks 'Rufus' for the review and all the images.

I'm quite inpressed by this set for it's playablity, but not it's price .....oh dear TRU again !

The truth is it looks ROTS, not CW (CN) - but I might get this one (why, well I scored a 7655 BP for $3 and a 7250 walker for $2 both MISB..that's why  )!

Love the set, hate the price! Thanks for the great review! I can't believe the TrU price! Sorry KimT.

The speeder is a much better set than the one that came with the old Wookie Catamaran but don't forget that was a £40 set and speeder was just the extra in that set!

As for all this talk of a PT or RotS set, rubbish i say! This will be a CW set and i bet you will see why by the end of this CW season.

Thanks for this (hilarious!) review :sweet: Barry at the office - ha!

Barriss does seem an odd choice and hardly a fan favourite for a limited edition set - why not just go with Luminara? It's not the sign of a character's amazing popularity when you have to look her up on Wookiepedia to remember she was more than in just a few episodes of the CW animated series.

The Swamp Speeder looks nicely designed, but at LEGO's RRP I ended up just buying the fig off BL for $US15 and saved myself about $AUD40 (and the self-shame of forking over a ridiculous amount of money for 170 pieces).

Lovely review!

I really want this set! I dont mind having to pay the exuberant amount for it. I just love Barriss! She has been my favourite Jedi from the Clone Wars and having her in lego is a must for me. The new clone looks great and will be my first phase 2 which will be nice. Battle droids are good to have but the SBD is better and has no rocket launcher arm which is good. The speeder itself looks pretty good and has a few good features.

Thanks for the review!

Great review and I like your sense of humour. After reading your review I'm sure I will be getting more Billund air as soon as this is available on sale.

I don't like the wheels because my experience with other things been bad where they added wheels to simulate hover. Its worse when the wheels are able to turn. I might leave the wheels out and use some transparent pieces to simulate the hover effect.

Well, if it's a TRU exclusive here in Australia, I probably won't get around to buying it. $60 seems like an okay price to me, even though it's obviously overpriced. Then again, the TIE Defender was $90, so it's not that inflated.

To be honest, I'd rather have the Clone Trooper than Barriss, because I've currently only got four Episode 3 Clones.

Perhaps the Billund air goes stale, and that's why they reduce the price?

Thanks for another great review Rufus!

It really has all you ever would like a review to be with reference picture to the "real" speeder and to Barris.

Nice comments, and pictures of everything that might be interesting to know.

One thing I do lack in this review though is a comparision picture between this one and the old speeder.

Otherwise then that, a super great review!!

Nice, comprehensive review there Rufus, cheers!

Bariss Offee looks amazing and is the obvious pull for this set. She'll sit well next to Luminara! The new torso print for the clonetrooper is really, really nice too. I own the original Swamp Speeder and really like the design of the vehicle. LEGO's new version looks great, that step above the original in terms of from and detail. Price is an issue for most on this set and it is ridiculously overpriced, but I reckon I'll still pick it up...

...maybe not from Toys R Us though!

Thanks again for the review. :classic:

Well, I'm part of the problem - I got it from TRU for £40 as well :hmpf_bad:

Mainly because I've been burned before when selecting what to get - generally the stuff where I think "Ah, that'll be around for ages" flies off the shelves, and stuff I rush to get hangs around forever.

So it's a choice of TRU tax now, or ebay tax later I suppose.

Wonderful wonderful review!

Barriss looks great, and although the swamp speeder looks a little light on parts for the price, you do get a few figs to help swallow that price up. I will definetaly be getting this set and I'm sure a late review will follow.

Your pictures are great qualoty, you should think about joining the reviewers academy!

or shop@home at home at a cheaper price....

Always wanted this set, and the new Jedi is great (even if she looks like a sith) if it was half the price it would have been about right

Lego must hate us collectors

Lego must hate us collectors

No, They just LOVE us. All those people who want to pay almost twice the price of a toyset, because it has some exclusive figs from a movie.

I don't think many star wars fans wanted the now commonly released droid tri-fighter, although it is quite a nice set. The sets with special figs ( landspeeder and Bariss + 2nd wave clone) are exclusive so the prizes can rise.

Great looking pics for your review. Excellent.

The model itself is very lacking. Too simplified compared to the original design it's based off of. TLG could easily have made it a more detailed build.

Plus the price is too high even for a licensed piece. $20buck US tops. TOPS!
